    I started to read the book but I had to put it aside for now. If reading this is painful for a lot of us, I can’t imagine how hard it is for his parents.

  6. I watched the Academy Awards. Several of the Best Picture Nominees caught my attention, but Hacksaw Ridge stood out. So, I rented it after the Awards went off and WOW! It is directed by Mel Gibson, who does a cameo appearance towards the end.

    It’s the true story of Desmond Doss, a Seventh Day Adventist who is a pacifist. He enlisted in the Army and going to get court martial until it was understood that he was willing to serve as a conscientious objector. He wanted to be a medic. With no weapon, he rescued 75 injured men by himself, in the midst of armed, Japanese soldiers.

    It’s a must see movie.

    Next on my list is Moonlight.
