  1. Dear Xena,

I started to read the book but I had to put it aside for now. If reading this is painful for a lot of us, I can’t imagine how hard it is for his parents.

    Hugs, Gronda

  2. It’s Oscar night! I’m putting aside time this year to watch it.

  3. Article from the jury that decided Dylann Roof’s case. On Feb. 5, the jury attended the morning worship at Mother Emanuel Church. They will never be the same.

  4. I watched the Academy Awards. Several of the Best Picture Nominees caught my attention, but Hacksaw Ridge stood out. So, I rented it after the Awards went off and WOW! It is directed by Mel Gibson, who does a cameo appearance towards the end.

It’s the true story of Desmond Doss, a Seventh Day Adventist who is a pacifist. He enlisted in the Army and going to get court martial until it was understood that he was willing to serve as a conscientious objector. He wanted to be a medic. With no weapon, he rescued 75 injured men by himself, in the midst of armed, Japanese soldiers.

    It’s a must see movie.

Next on my list is Moonlight.
