A gunman kills two NYC police officers, Obama says the Sony hack is not an act of war, and more.

1. Gunman kills two NYC cops in ambush shooting
A lone gunman on Saturday shot and killed two New York City police officers in Brooklyn before taking his own life in an armed standoff. The shooter, 28-year-old Ismaaiyl Brinsley, is believed to have killed his ex-girlfriend in Baltimore earlier Saturday before heading north and vowing on social media to kill police officers, too. Police said Brinsley killed officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos while they sat in a parked squad car, and then fled into a nearby subway station where he shot himself. Police Commissioner William Bratton called the attack an assassination, saying the officers were “targeted for their uniform and for the responsibility they embraced to keep the people of this city safe.” [The New York…

    • Holy Smokin’ Arsels Martha !! What do cops think isn’t wrong or against police policy. The official investigation said the cops did nothing wrong !!

Let me guess……walking into a Walmart and shooting a shopper would be wrong…..no….they did that…… no repercussion there.

I know !!!! choking someone to death to protect the person……no…been there, seen that.

Maybe…..hmmmmmmm, pulling into a park on the grass and shooting a kid with a toy gun is wrong…….no again, they did that.

Maybeeeeee, knocking an old man to the ground for transporting a used car with dealer tags….would that be wrong ??

Arresting a black man for allegedly smoking pot when in fact it was a cigar and not allowing him to lock up his van resulting in the vans theft and all his recently purchased Christmas presents to be stolen, would that be wrong ??

Does, let me see here….I remember !! Is stopping someone for no reason then shooting them when you ask them to show their lic wrong ?? After all, that one happened at a gas station full of people behind the victim…….not to mention all those gas pumps and lines.

It seems to me cops can do no wrong. Lets face it, there are instances where they walked up to someone and just fucking shot ’em. Like the 2 white cops who shot the next black guy who happened along since he matched the “description” Well, actually, he didn’t, he was just black………..oh, and happened to be a police captain off duty.

yep, Thank God for this dash cam. But then again, the cops tried to alter it or hide it or both.

      • Hey Racer! The prosecutor tried to hide the dash cam of the car that crashed into and was in front of Marcus. Since there were no charges for domestic violence, it bothers me that the cops would later stop him. What appears is that they took retribution for having to work that night — wanted to teach him a lesson. I wish that his attorney had obtained the radio communications between the cops that night too. I’ve not been able to find info on the status of the trial for the two cops, other than their attorneys filed a motion to dismiss the indictment or in the alternative to suppress evidence. They don’t want the dash cam video shown at trial. Sounds like a long-shot to me.

Marcus did file a civil suit.

        • Wow, I’m glad his attorney was able to get that tape, without it he would’ve been sentenced to prison. One of the things that pisses me off is the ability of some to be able to retire and not face the consequences of their actions. I think that when someone has charges/investigation pending that any hope of retirement is placed on hold until the outcome of their case. This should apply not only to police but to those in any type of government service. If they are found guilty of the charges which would result in a termination then they should also forfeit the ability to collect a pension. Too many abuses with the ability to walk away from everything and collect a pension on top of it.

    • Shyloh, YES! Marcus didn’t give up. What saddens me however, is the thought that there are no doubt many others who were setup and unjustly doing time.

    • Thank God he wasn’t killed !!! When the heavy cop smashed his window in for no reason and the other one is walking around with what I thought was a nightstick, it turned out to be a shotgun, I just thought “he we go again”

Good morning Xena and all.Reading this article is more proof of why I come here and why you deserve those awards. I live in NY,so I can tell you things are tense, with the protests and now the killing of the NYPD officers Ramos and Liu. WIth the deaths of these NYPD cops, nobody here is expressing joy, calling this revenge or saying they got what they deserve. Unlike people and sites that mock the deaths of Trayvon,Jordan,Garner,Brown,Meyers etc.HERE HUMANITY IS HUMANITY.Not selective. The BGI allegations are just that allegations and not true.

Thanks for your kind words. As you know, I don’t agree with killing PERIOD. What I see happening is that everyone other than the murderer of those cops is being blamed for their murder. The murderer killed himself, indicating that he had a mental problem. The attitude in this situation in the media is very different from the attitude when the two Bundy Ranch dropouts killed two cops in Vegas. Such hypocrisy and double-standards!

BGI? Well, that is what White Supremacists call it when people of color exercise their constitutional rights to petition the court for redress of grievances. Of course, to the same people, it’s okay when George Zimmerman and his parents petition the courts although no one in their family was killed. In the ideologies of those calling the exercise of constitutional rights “BGI,” money is suppose to segregate and discriminate also.
