Truthout Daily Digest Tuesday March 25 , 2014

Fantastic resources! I am reblogging in case my readers are interested in international issues, politics, justice, the Hobby Lobby case, and other interesting subjects you have on the digest.

Spirit In Action

There are a lot of really important stories in Truthout today. The concept of history repeating as David Wilcock discussed in his last book is eerily apparent here tho the time spans involved are much shorter.

From the distraction tactics being used to cement oil oligarchs ability to exterminate life on Earth, to the racist removal of indigenous children nothing we are seeing in the news of late is actually “new”.

It is time for the collective of Earth to say no more from the depths of our inherent spiritual power of creation. All that is not of love must end.

We must withdraw our consent and call forth the transformation of this power-over based society into something rooted in love, compassion and caring before it truly is too late for our species and so many others.

  1. Xena, Thank you for providing this valuable link today. I wish every one in our nation could understand the real need for equality in not only health care, and the justice system, but in all parts of life as well…

  2. I had no idea this was happening. It’s hard to wrap my mind around this, that in 2014, a human being could do this to other human beings, especially on such a grand scale.

  3. This heinous, corrupt practice needs to be STOPPED!

    • Excerpt from the article:

Today, the theft of Aboriginal children – including babies taken from the birth table – is now more widespread than at any time during the last century. As of June last year, almost 14,000 Aboriginal children had been “removed.”

This is five times the number when “Bringing Them Home” was written. More than a third of all removed children are Aboriginal – from 3% of the population. At the present rate, this mass removal of Aboriginal children will result in a stolen generation of more than 3,300 children in the Northern Territory alone.

      • This scandalous and largely unrecognized abuse of human rights that evokes the infamous Stolen Generation of the last century.

Up to the 1970s, thousands of mixed-race children were stolen from their mothers by welfare officials. The children were given to institutions as cheap or slave labor; many were abused.

Then there the history of Britain sending orphans to their colonies and to Australia.

Here is the part in Wikipedia that pertains to Austraiia:

In Australia, such “Child Migrant” children are part of a larger group known as the “Forgotten Australians”. “Forgotten Australians” is a term the Australian Senate has used to describe the estimated 500,000 children who were brought up in orphanages, children’s homes, institutions or foster care in Australia up until the early 1990s.[16]

“Child Migrants” refers specifically to the 7000 children who migrated to Australia under assisted child migration schemes. Child migrants were adopted or brought up in children’s homes, institutions, orphanages or foster care. Many of these children experienced neglect and abuse while in institutional care.[17]

At the urging of the “Care Leavers Australia Network”, in August 2001, the Senate Community Affairs References Committee published “Lost Innocents: Righting the Record – Report on child migration,” and followed this in August 2004 with the “Forgotten Australians” report. Both reports concluded with a number of recommendations, one of which was a call for a national apology. Prime Minister of Australia, Kevin Rudd apologised on behalf of the government of Australia on 16 November 2009.[18] As of 2009, there were an estimated 7,000 “Child Migrants” currently residing in Australia. The Australian government had contacted about 400 British child migrants for advice on how the apology should be delivered. Australia’s Roman Catholic Church had publicly apologised in 2001 to British and Maltese child migrants who suffered abuse including rape, whippings and slave labour in religious institutions.[15] A £1 million travel fund was set up by the British Government for former child migrants to visit their families in the UK. The Australian Government later supplemented this fund.

        • MY Words (“Then there the history of Britain sending orphans to their colonies and to Australia.” and “There is also this article:”) should not have appeared in quotation marks.

      • So much for civilization, uh? Bring in “civilization,” and ruin a people.
