One of my favorite songs by Aretha is “Bridge over Troubled Waters”

I heard she was really sick a day or two ago, but I never expected that it lead to this. RIP, Aretha.

Yes Ospreyshire. Aretha was a private person, but news came out years ago that she was battling pancreatic cancer.

Understood. She will definitely be missed though.

Of course. She’s the queen of soul and nobody will be zooming anyone into thinking otherwise.

Dear Xena,
I admired her so, not just for her awesome talent but for the person she was. The second you heard her voice, you knew who was in charge of that song.
Remember that little Johanna girl who channeled Aretha Franklin’s R-E-S-P-E-C-T at a dance recital. You had forwarded the video to me and I am using it in my blog.
I’ve been playing Aretha music all day, today.
Hugs, Gronda

Oh Gronda YES! I remember that. At one time I had a double CD set of Aretha’s songs, but it was stolen at a wedding reception that I attended and provided the music. 😦 I pulled up a video channel on cable today and played her music videos. You are so right, the second you heard her voice, you knew it was her.

The world has lost a legend that can not be replaced. I hope she riding in her Pink Cadillac. 🙂

Roach,
Last night I heard Aretha sing “Amazing Grace” and those at my house left out because they didn’t want to run into furniture doing the Holy Ghost dance. 🙂
