Supervisors at the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office were ordered to falsify a reserve deputy’s training records, giving him credit for field training he never took and firearms certifications he should not have received, sources told the Tulsa World.At least three of reserve deputy Robert Bates’ supervisors were transferred after refusing to sign off on his state-required training, multiple sources speaking on condition of anonymity told the World.
And it gets worse. The certifications have gone missing:
Additionally, Sheriff Stanley Glanz told a Tulsa radio station this week that Bates had been certified to use three weapons, including a revolver he fired at Harris. We Hold These Truths To Be Self-Evident 
It’s going to get very ugly. I stated the other day on the Professors site that anyone with gun training never pulls a gun unless they must and you NEVER put your finger on the trigger until the moment you must fire. The other cops have Harris on the ground and one has his knee on Harris’s neck. Why does this shit head even have his gun out.
He’s 73, is a pay to play cop and the situation was well in hand and he’s untrained and has a lethal weapon out.

Hey Racer! It is bothersome that Bates would think he needed to tase Eric when Eric was already being restrained by other officers.
The situation reminds me of Reeves, the “popcorn” killer in Florida. He is an older man, retired sheriff with a gun and no patience.
CNN reported earlier today that there were officers in Tulsa who told that Bates’ training was falsified and in response, they were demoted or experienced problems/criticism with their work.
Maybe this will work out for the good for those officers who are honorable and report wrongs in their departments. The retaliation that they suffer needs to be exposed and policies put in place to prevent it in the future, or at least provide them with options to seek redress if it does happen.

ANNOUNCEMENT
I was working on the admin side of the blog to publish an article written by Santiago when my browser closed for no reason. Everything on my laptop stopped working. I rebooted and received a message that Microsoft was updating. Then, my laptop would not reboot.
I’ve ran through the repair options and found that something is wrong with the updates, and that my laptop will not restore to previous settings. So, I’m working on resolving that.
Meanwhile, I’m on my desktop now, but it hasn’t been updated for over a year. I’ll be back as soon as possible, either after my laptop problems has been resolved, or after I update my desktop so I can work on it for all necessary programs.

The Tulsa Sheriff Glanz or whoever ordered the falsifying of Mr. Bate’s records are both part of the crime that happened. They knowingly let a 73 year old man without adequate training, participate in a sting with guns involved. What could possibly go wrong when Mr. Bates didn’t know the difference between a gun and a Taser? They need to go and also to be held criminally responsible along with Mr. Bates.
I could not have worked with this type of sheriff with no integrity and certainly not competent. I can’t believe people voted for him.

Gronda, I agree. The decisions makers made the death of Eric Harris possible. They must be held accountable. Can you imagine the board of a hospital falsifying the training and certifications of physicians? Maybe prosecuting law enforcement should occur the same way as medical malpractice where another law enforcement professional certifies that there were alternatives and/or negligence committed.

another scary thought that’s been running thru my mind.
what about this so-called “undercover gun sting” the cops are claiming? since Eric Harris isn’t here to speak to his own actions, I’m not comfortable just going along with those cops, especially after finding out all the BS & corruption & lies.
as far as i’m concerned there’s no reason to take their word for it w/o corroborating video evidence.
