During Memorial Day weekend, while the U.S. death toll from the coronavirus was nearing 100,000, and after he had called for the reopening of the nation’s churches, Donald Trump was playing golf. In fact, he hit the course that he owns in Virginia, twice. Quite frankly, I’m surprised he felt confident enough about his safety […]

Quarantine Reflections — My Good Time Stories
We all know how much impact the quarantine and all the time that we have spent “locked down” has had on us. Days seem to melt together, and, on occasions, time just seems to slow down.
I came across the following thoughts from a friend of mine. Some of them are funny and some will make you sit back and think. Whatever the case…enjoy.
***************
I hope they give us two weeks’ notice before sending us back out into the real world. I think we’ll all need the time to become ourselves again. And by “ourselves” I mean lose 10 pounds, cut our hair and get used to not drinking at 9:00 a.m.

Breaking News: Wearing a mask inside your home is now highly recommended. Not so much to stop COVID-19, but to stop eating.

Blame It On Nancy — claytoonz
I agree with the Canadian.
Yesterday, A Canadian CEO blamed Donald Trump for the lives lost by Iran shooting down the Ukrainian airliner. Iran was responding to the United States killing its top general while he was on his way to the airport in Baghdad. The general was killed after Donald Trump ordered his assassination. The CEO, Michael McCain, chief […]
An Act of War: Trump Has Iranian General Assassinated — The Inglorius Padre Steve’s World
Friends of Padre Steve’s World, The great Prussian military strategist Carl Von Clausewitz wrote: “No one starts a war–or rather, no one in his sense ought to do so–without first being clear in his mind what he intends to achieve by the war and how he intends to conduct it.” Late Thursday night I saw […]

Rep. Elijah Cummings Provided Strength and Calm for Urban Baltimore — BCNN1 WP
He stood up for the poor and the disadvantaged throughout urban America — but Elijah Cummings was principally the strong voice and political advocate for Baltimore, where he was revered as his hometown’s champion. The Democratic congressman lived at the doorstep of some of the city’s worst rioting, including violent 2015 protests following the death […]

Dare Call it What it Is: Race Hatred Blessed By the President — Padre Steve’s World: Official Home of the Anti-Chaps
Friends of Padre Steve’s World,
Another day, another race based mass killing, another fake message of support from the President.
This time it was El Paso, Texas. A young white man from Dallas, an admitted White Supremacist went to a Walmart at a mall. Using an AK-47 he went on a killing spree. When police confronted him he offered no resistance. The latest casualty count is 20 dead and 26 wounded, but the count is still fluctuating. In his manifesto retrieved from the 8Chan site preferred by violent White Supremacists, he wrote:
“This attack is a response to the Hispanic invasion of Texas. They are the instigators, not me. I am simply defending my country from cultural and ethnic replacement brought on by an invasion.”
2 mass shootings, Trump fires Coats, Putin foe poisoned, Feds to cut interest rate, Earth Overshoot Day — The Secular Jurist
By Robert A. Vella What would be a Monday in America without more mass shootings? Trump fired the Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats and replaced him with a Mueller-hating sycophant. The physician who treated Alexei Navalny, the imprisoned political foe of Russian strongman Vladimir Putin, suspects he was poisoned in jail. The decade-long period […]
State-Sanctioned Murder! — Filosofa’s Word
Does anybody remember Clayton D. Lockett? No, of course not. Allow me to refresh your memory. Mr. Lockett was brutally murdered by our own federal government on April 29,2014 in a botched execution. Lockett was administered an untested mixture of drugs that had not previously been used for executions in the United States. Although the […]
A Most Relevant and Uncomfortable Message: Frederick Douglass’s Independence Day Oration Of 1852 — Padre Steve’s World: Official Home of the Anti-Chaps
Friends of Padre Steve’s World, Yesterday President Trump delivered a speech at the Lincoln Memorial in his “Salute to America.” For Trump the speech was as non-partisan. Although he talked about the “spirit of America” and detailed many military, scientific, and economic accomplishments, appealed to American Exceptionalism, and threw in a couple of comments about […]

72 hours in America: 3 hate-filled crimes. 3 hate-filled suspects. — WTVR.com
Three incidents in 72 hours shared one thing: hate.
Consider the past week in America.
Wednesday, a white man with a history of violence shot and killed two African-Americans, seemingly at random, at a Kentucky Kroger store following a failed attempt to barge into a black church.
After mail bombs were being sent to people who’d been criticized by the President, a suspect was arrested Friday — a man who had railed against Democrats and minorities with hate-filled messages online.
And Saturday morning, a man shouting anti-Semitic slurs opened fire at a Pittsburgh synagogue, killing 11 people attending Jewish services.
