Officers Involved In The Death of Freddie Gray Charged In Administrative Action

On April 12, 2015, Freddie Gray was taken into custody by Baltimore police officers Edward Nero and Garrett Miller.  Freddie sustained a spinal injury in a police van ride and died on April 19, 2015.  Officer Ceasar Goodson was driving the van.

WBALTV reports that Lt. Brian Rice, Sgt. Alicia White and Officer Caesar Goodson have been suspended, pending termination.  They were found to have failed to follow policies for seat-belting Freddie Gray.

 

Officers Garrett Miller and Edward Nero who took Freddie into custody, face five days suspension without pay.

Officer William Porter, whose trial resulted in a hung jury, faces no punishment.

 

On July 29, 2016, charges were dropped by prosecutors after a jury deadlocked on charges against Porter, and a judge acquitted Rice, Goodson and Nero.

The internal discipline review, conducted by the Montgomery and Howard county police departments, determined the officers broke department rules.

The officers can accept the recommended punishment or choose to dispute the charges. Read the rest of this entry

Ralph Peters, a Fox News analyst and retired Army officer, called the President “such a total pussy, it’s stunning” on Fox Business Monday morning, eventually prompting host Stuart Varney to demand Peters apologize.

Not long after, Stacey Dash, a contributor on the Fox talk show “Outnumbered,” was also incensed by Obama’s Sunday primetime address on terrorism, and said it seemed the President “could give a shit” during the Oval Office speech.

Both Fox contributors have been suspended for two weeks for the remarks, CNN Monday firstreported.

This afternoon, officials began identifying the 14 victims of the San Bernardino mass shooting. The Huffington Post has posted the information. One victim leaves behind 6 children.

The New York Times is keeping a running format on investigation updates.

Also this afternoon, Twitter suspended George Zimmerman’s account. It appears that he was in a relationship with a woman in Kentucky, and they broke up. Zimmerman went on a revenge-porn campaign, posting nude photos of her on Twitter along with her address and phone number. The Daily Dot has screenshots and the story.
