On this day when America honors it military personnel and veterans for fighting to maintain America’s freedom, an American couple sat before a committee in another country and spoke about police brutality in America.
Lesley McSpadden and Michael Brown Sr. traveled to Geneva, Switzerland as part of a delegation of human rights advocates and spoke before a U.N. Committee against Torture.
Lesley and Michael are the parents of Michael Brown, who was killed by Darren Wilson in Ferguson, MO on August 9, 2014. The county’s prosecutor took evidence before the county’s grand jury, and rumors abound that the grand jury will not indict Darren Wilson.
“We need the world to know what’s going on in Ferguson and we need justice. We need answers and we need action. And we have to bring it to the U.N. so they can expose it to the rest of the world, what’s going on in small town Ferguson” said Lesley. Read the rest of this entry
