A little more than a year ago my wife gave me a book titled “El Cinco De Mayo an American Tradition.” The author is Dr. David Hayes-Bautista. I could not put the book down. The history contained on its pages was nearly lost. It is my belief that the historical facts behind Cinco De Mayo were intended to be lost.
With the current race for the White House, and a few of the Republican front-runners who have shown disdain for Mexican-American people, I thought it might be best to share these historical facts.
El Cinco De Mayo has been mistaken by many as a celebration of Mexican independence, but it is not. It is associated with a battle won in Mexico that had it been lost, might have changed the outcome of the American Civil War.
I hope that you enjoy the video.

As for myself, it’s been a pretty busy week. Our house has sold and we will be moving out by the end of August. Court took place this week. The defendant entered a plea of not guilty Trial is set for September 8th.
My Soap Box For Today
South Carolina finally did what should have been done years ago in taking down the Confederate Flag. (Really, it should have never been flown after the Civil War.) The flag’s removal has caused some to go off the deep end with their arguments that the flag does not represent oppression and bigotry, but rather their history and southern pride.
As slanted as those claims might be, here is what that flag represents to me. Read the rest of this entry
“He was no longer a sergeant for the Neptune Township Police Department. He turned into a criminal and a murderer,” said Marc Lemeiux of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.”
Sergent Phillip Seidle, a 22 year veteran of New Jersey’s Neptune Township Police department, is currently in custody on charges of 1st Degree Murder, 2nd Degree unlawful possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose and 2nd degree endangering the welfare of a child.
Charges came after Seidle ,51, chased his ex wife down as she drove with their 7 year old daughter.
It is reported that his recently divorced wife, Tamra Seidle, crashed into another vehicle in Ashbury Park New Jersey. A that point, Phillip Seidle drew his service pistol, a 40 caliber glock, and fired several shots into the side of his ex wifes vehicle. From there Seidle then positioned himself in front of the vehicle and fired several more shots in the windshield while their 7-year old was inside of the car.
Tamra Seidle was rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. Officer Phillip Seidle eventually surrendered to law enforcement after attempting to take his own life. The couple has 9 children ranging from ages 7 to 24.
Reports are not very clear, as some seem to say that all shots into the car were made before police arrived, while others, and some videos, appear to show that Seidle fired additional shots into the car after having held the gun to his own head after police arrived.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and children during this time.
Hello everyone. Santiago here.
Saturday June 13th, just after midnight, James Boulware of Hutchins, Texas, a 35-year-old man who has all the traits of a Sovereign Citizen and a history of violence, drove an armored vehicle straight into Dallas Police headquarters and opened fire on law enforcement.
WPTV reports that Boulware purchased the armored vehicle off eBay.
It is unclear why Boulware decided to open fire on police, but stories surfacing indicate that Boulware believed that law enforcement was the reason his son was taken away from him.
The father of James, Jim Boulware, told CNN he did not believe his son would take out his anger on law enforcement but believed he would have likely done so against the mother of his son who was awarded custody of their child in April of 2015. Read the rest of this entry
Hello everyone. Santiago here. I woke up this morning to take my wife to LAX as she is on her way to New York for a couple of days. On my way home a bizarre story came on the radio about an incident that took place on Wednesday involving a retired Judge who called 911 to report that there were armed people in his house.
As police arrived, it appears they were able to peek through the window of the house and saw 75-year old, retired judge and former prosecutor James Bascue, seated on a chair with two guns in his lap.
Officers noticed Mr. Bascue picking up the guns then pointing one of the guns to his head. Officers began to plea with the former judge asking him to drop the weapons. Bascue fired a shot inside of his home and shot out a glass door with the bullet nearly hitting one of the responding officers. It was at that moment SWAT was called in.
After several attempts to talk Bascue down with friends and family members, it was finally a neighbor who convinced Bascue to drop his guns and come outside. Although he had fired on police officers, Bascue was taken alive, arrested on assault with a deadly weapon and held on $100,000 bail. Read the rest of this entry
Good afternoon folks! Santiago here. This is an open discussion thread. Please share whatever is on your mind, what you have experienced this week, or news stories you would like to discuss.
Here’s my thoughts of the week. Officer Michael Brelo, who was 1 of 13 officers involved in a 137 shot ambush style murder, was acquitted on Saturday.
Brelo apparently is said to have been justified in jumping on the hood of a vehicle firing 49 rounds into the windshield killing both unarmed occupants, Timothy Russell and Malissa Williams.
49 shots! Let’s do some math. That means that Brelo is responsible for 1/3 of the gun fire that rained down on two unarmed citizens. Their justification or reasoning for the acquittal is somewhat hard to understand.
They claim the car that Russell and Williams were in backfired leaving them to believe the two were armed and fired a shot. The 2nd portion of the justification isn’t exactly that easy to explain. Read the rest of this entry
Hi! Santiago here. As announced last week, I will be doing a weekly open discussion thread. Share whatever is on your mind, current or past events. Keep in mind not everything has to be news related here, talk about your week or your plans for the weekend or any suggestions you may have for the blog.
A big thanks to participants and subscribed followers.
- This last week has been filled with some interesting stories. Zimmerman is back in the news again and it appears he is once again the “victim”. Apparently George has followed through in pressing charges against Apperson.
My personal thoughts, is anybody allowed to stand their ground with this clown? I think the only thing that’s going to come of this is a waste of tax payer dollars, but it will be fun to watch George take the stand if he really intends on this going through…
It is funny to see some Dunn supporters stand up for George in this regard. Apperson thought he saw George waive his gun. Dunn swore up and down Jordan had a gun… even though no gun was ever found in the SUV that Dunn shot up. George on the other hand, did indeed have his gun. But, it’s funny to sit back and watch the hypocrisy flow from the nutters.
- Waco presented us a 5 biker gang brawl that ended up with a shoot out leaving 9 dead and more than 170 arrest. In fact, it turns out one of those arrested is a retired detective. So let me get this straight — cops retire to become bad guys! What’s going on here? I wonder if throughout the investigation if we will learn that this former Detective did certain favors for his “Club”?
Hi! Santiago here.
Has anyone seen the movie The Purge?
Wikipedia describes it as;
The Purge is a 2013 American social science fiction action horror film written and directed by James DeMonaco. It stars Ethan Hawke, Lena Headey, Adelaide Kane and Max Burkholder.
The “New Founding Fathers of America”, which took over following an economic collapse and instituted totalitarian rule, has established one night a year -called “the Purge”- in which all crime is legal and all police, fire and medical emergency services are shut down for 12 hours, from 7 pm till 7 am. The purge has resulted in crime and unemployment rates plummeting to 1% and a strong economy. Although it is thought to be used as an act of catharsis for the U.S. populace, in reality, it is used as a method of artificial population control, as the people living in poor areas are usually the main targets.
Today’s events, and particularly what Tulsa, OK pay-to-play Bates did, caused me to think of The Purge. Words can not express my disgust when looking at the events that led to this tragedy. Sure, Eric Harris was illegally selling firearms to undercover wanna be cop Robert Bates, but the question remains as to how and why a 73-year old business man would be allowed to participate in undercover sting operations such as this. There is no way that Slager or the conspiracy theorists can lie their way out of this one… This video establishes the following;
Walter was already hit with the taser and likely knocked down by the taser just prior to the shooting.
- Walter’s hat on the ground
- Walter’s pants are somewhat pulled down
- Stun wires in Walter’s leg
- Cartridge case for the stun gun on the ground at the feet of Slager
Hi there. Santiago here.
As expected it didn’t take long for the conspiracy theorist to surface regarding the killing of Walter Scott and the arrest of Michael Slager for murder. The conspiracies range from hearing stories about a magical leaf that Slager dropped near Walter’s body, to hearing about an alleged ground attack by Walter Scott. Now we are hearing an outright lie claiming that Walter somehow tazed Slager.
I find it a bit disturbing that the blogs pushing this nonsense also forgot to mention the fact that Slager walked back to the area where he fired the shots that killed Walter, picked up the tazer, and brought it back over to Walters laid, and dropped it right next to Walters body.
But it doesn’t stop there. Based on the dashcam footage, we know that the tazer was deployed as Slager stated “Tazer, Tazer, Tazer.”
Slager did not say that Walter took his tazer until after he killed him.
Slager did not say at any point that Walter used the tazer on him. With at least 4 different audio recordings, Slager never once stated that he was tazed.

Here we go again same (expletive), different toilet. George Zimmerman is playing the blame game again. This time he has pointed the finger at President Barack Obama stating that our president is to blame for racial tensions surrounding the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.
Of course we expect the typical “I am not to blame” campaign headed by Zimmerman. after all his past clearly proves this right? I mean it wasn’t his fault that he was following an unarmed teen in the middle of the night first by car then by foot he didn’t create any scenario at all that would leave a kid to feel threatened no not good ole Georgie.
George follows the book, respects the law. (snark) I mean that is evidenced by him disregarding the neighborhood watch handbook guide in which the Director of neighborhood watch clearly stated, time and time again, not to follow anybody. The handbook clearly states you are the eyes and ears for law enforcement — not the vigilante. George’s actions remind me of a statement made at his trial by Rachel Jentel.
In fact, George was even reminded this on his non-emergency call when he reported a suspicious looking black teen walking through the Retreat at Twin Lakes. And of course, after several neighborhood watch meetings, after having read the handbook given to him and being reminded on the non-emergency call not to follow, George did not follow those instructions. In the end, he said it was Trayvon’s fault for his own death.
Oh wait – maybe it was the dispatcher’s fault for asking if he wanted to meet the arriving officer at the mailbox. Maybe it was the day of the week’s fault because he and Shellie always grocery shopped on Sunday evenings after he cooked dinner for her – although Shellie had left George the day before and was at her dad’s. Lessons learned, old lessons remembered……
(Alert. Some might find the content in the comments of others presented in this article to be offensive.)
Five words I would hear on a regular basis day in and day out when training as an amateur boxer; “Protect yourself at all times.” You hear those words time and time again in the gym, even while hitting heavy bags or doing mitt work. It’s important even during sparring although those sessions are controlled and not as intense as an actual fight.
The idea is to instill that way of thinking into your head so you keep your hands up, keep your head moving and your feet moving, thus reducing the chance of getting caught with a shot you don’t see only to deposit you on the canvas.
It’s the last set of words you hear after having passed the ammunition to your opponent (Touching Gloves) and just before the opening bell sounds.
What do I mean in all of this? Lets look back when the internet started to surface and started to become the trend that it is today.
If you were a parent back then or even a single lady living alone, the internet was a place where you knew trouble lurked. You didn’t want your kids on the internet because you have prowlers trying to lure your kids to meet them. You have scam artists setting up websites in attempt to look legit but are intended to get your personal info and steal your identity or clean out your bank account. These are things we are all aware of and we all keep our guard up in regards to these types of realities. But I am going to take it even one step further. How many of you have surfed Youtube only to see some crazy conspiracy theories in the videos? I am pretty sure everybody here has stumbled across them on a couple of occasions.
The disturbing part is the creators of the videos; the creators of those theories, believe in them so much that if you even utter a word disagreeing they tend to claim your hired by the Government sent out to discredit truth seekers. Or am I the only one who happens to find Youtube users like that? Don’t take my word for it. Look up some of the Planet X theorist and try to debate reality with their warped sense of thinking and see what happens.
Anyhow, I have seen some crazy stuff surfing. There are videos where anti-Obama nutters claim that the Aurora shooting, Sandy Hook and even the Trayvon Martin shooting never took place. They claim that these were all paid actors and one huge effort to take away our 2nd amendment rights. Read the rest of this entry
I immediately received phone calls before making to my attorney’s office, which was two blocks from the courthouse. It appears rather than humbling himself and accepting defeat and moving on he chose to start up right again, posting more garbage. I honestly was not surprised to hear the news but the focus at that point was getting the tire fixed so I could make the trip home. A screw got stuck in my tire on the way to my attorney’s office.
On the way home, random thoughts started to emerge knowing that he was firing away talking trash telling more lies. The reality of it all hit me. This man really is mentally ill. He is obsessed with the likes of George Zimmerman, Michael Dunn and Theodore Wafer. That’s a scary concept when you think about it.
There is no gun control in the United States for people with mental illness. They are allowed to carry. Can you imagine a person who creates their own reality and lives in a world of lies owning a fire arm? He is obsessed at the idea of killing black people in the name of self-defense. He lives in a fantasy world. Look at what we know about him.
He claims he has a wife and step-daughter, but he does not. He used the legal system as a means to cause harm to me and this alleged wife he loves so much. This is a man who lied on sworn declarations and lied during court and he knows he lied. He is dangerous without owning a firearm so imagine if he obtained one?
Come to think of it, we know he is on SSI disability for his mental illness which is why he spends so much time on the internet harassing people over social media. I understand that those assisting him also receive SSI so it wouldn’t be a surprise if there is mental illness across the board as they all share the same ideology, and his friends honestly believe the garbage he tells them even when they know he is lying. Most of you who read this will know the experiences I am about to share with you as some of you reading have also been victimized by this individual. I am not sure exactly when the subject person started harassing others, but my point of reference starts with the George Zimmerman Trial.
I’m referring to the individual as my accuser. It never occurred to me that by exercising my right to freedom of speech, that a series of events would lead to being threatened, stalked, harassed, defamed, and eventually led to court. But, this is what happened and it happened as a result of my advocacy for Trayvon Martin.
During the Zimmerman trial, I became familiar with an individual over social media. I had blocked several of his twitter and Facebook accounts due to the racist comments, racist memes and threats of violence. As time went on and the verdict was announced, and in protesting the verdict, the subject harasser stepped up the memes. They were more disturbing as if this was his method of a victory parade essentially rubbing salt in the wounds.
But that was expected. I mean when you look at the blatant racism in his memes, in his tweets and on his Facebook pages, who would not expect anything different. His postings make it that he a person who believes in white supremacy ideology. Read the rest of this entry
