Three Counties in California Have Fake Ballot Drop Boxes
Shout out to @Barkiologist for the information.
Orange County Register reports that Jordan Tygh, a regional field director for the California Republican Party, posted a photo on social media of “convenient locations” to drop their own ballots.
They are not official drop boxes. The fake boxes are located in Orange, Los Angeles, and Fresno Counties.
The California Secretary of State says that the fake boxes are located at local political party offices, candidate headquarters and churches.

That’s blatant and sick. And Repubs are wondering why they’re losing folks right and left. Pulling cheating stunts like this one is just sick. Oh yeah, just hand one party your ballot right on their doorstep. No privacy, no security, no proof it won’t be tampered with. Gah, sick!

Remember back in 2016 people received text messages telling them that the date to vote if they are Democrats, was the day after election day. Republicans have lost their minds.

no, I don’t remember that. Wow–so much crap has happened that would’ve been a lousy joke. Now it’s amazing how we all know a ton of folks would fall for it. And if it was done to republican voters they would’ve been howling and getting their torches and pitchforks ready.

Very true.

Unbelievable!!! It speaks volumes that the Republicans think the only way they can win an election is to blatantly cheat. I presume the fake drop boxes have since been removed? Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Jill,
I was talking to doctors practically all day and haven’t had a chance to catch up to see if the fake drop boxes have been removed. The CA Secretary of State did issue a “cease and desist” letter.

I know that some have been removed, but I haven’t seen any further news since a couple of days ago. I wonder how many ballots have gone astray because of this?
Talking to doctors all day? I hope there isn’t anything more wrong? Hugs!

Well, Jill, it goes back to Dec. 2018 when I was infused Taxotere that I should not have gotten and ended up in the hospital. It caused neuropathy in my left leg and the big toe on my left foot began to hurt. Three months later, the nail turned black and lifted. I saw a podiatrist who cut the nail back to the cuticle, and saw him every three months thereafter. Then the tip of the toe turned red, indicating infection. In Sept., he took x-rays. There’s a cyst on the toe. He wants to remove it and take a piece of the bone and send it to pathology to make sure the infection is not coming from or in the bone.
I asked him if I could dance ballet after the surgery and he said “sure”, in which I replied that will be a miracle because I can’t dance ballet now.
Anyway, on Sat. I ended up in Prompt Care. UTI. On anti-biotics for 7 days. Surgery was postponed, which means I have to go through getting another pre-authorization and another Covid test when surgery is rescheduled.

Damn!!! You have been through so much already, and now this! I wish I were there to give you a hug, but since I’m not, I am sending you a virtual hug 🤗 and am keeping you in my heart and thoughts.

Jill, thanks so much for your hugs and keeping me in your heart and thoughts. There’s another situation happening that I’ve posted about previously, which is the homemaker service. Hopefully, that will be resolved soon.

I have seen fake mail boxes. So, I’m not surprised there are fake election boxes.

Are you serious? Fake mail boxes? Well, scammers have no bottom.

Yes, I saw one back in 1999. It appeared on the street where one of my in-laws lived. People were dropping payments for bills off in it because it was nearby. It stayed there for about a month. Long enough for people to get suspicious. It was on the street so long that companies started asking people where were their monthly payments? Many who paid with checks later learned their bank accounts had been drained. The postal service took it down after so many people started complaining about it. My in-law only lost $25.00 because she paid her bill with a money order, not a check.

That is so very sad to hear. There are heartless folks in this world.

Yes, it was very sad considering they got away with it for so long.

Thank you for this warning: not having seen the fake boxes, how do we tell folks how to know what boxes are official from fake boxes, in case this happens elsewhere?

I was able to find the following video that shows the fake and official drop boxes. There are also recommendations elsewhere that people call their Election Board or Secretary of State for official drop-off locations.

Disgusting. Hope the perps are prosecuted to the full extend of the law.

Two sides,
The CA Secretary of State sent a “cease and desist” letter. As someone said on MSNBC, had it been Democrats with fake drop boxes, Trump would have demanded that all ballots in them be discarded and the perps arrested.

Oh my lord. This is the epitome of the end of democratic life as we know it. The end of what was celebrated for a blink of an eye in history as it’s been written by the winners. And in this case we are all going to lose. It’s so telling of what we face as a country and the mess we will be left to clean up after the masquerade party is over.

Ilene,
It’s good that we are strong people who see the storm, and prepare for it. Yes, you are so right. The sinking these days is so low that I think I heard Dante’s Inferno.

Roderick,
Thanks for the update. With so much happening with the presidential race and Covid-19, other news is pushed in the shadows. Thanks again for staying on top.

I remember hearing about those fake drop boxes. Good thing they didn’t ruin the election even though I wouldn’t be surprised if the people who made them supported the 1/6 insurrection.

Ospreyshire,
That wouldn’t surprise me either. As we have witnessed, Trump’s thugs did everything they could to keep him in office, even to threatening to hang Mike Pence. What is absolutely sad about it is Republican Senators are more than likely to allow Trump to get away with inciting those thugs.

Sure thing. Right on point with the Trump supporters and how they acted. It’s also blatantly hypocritical with them supporting police brutality against anti-racist activists, but they assault and even killed a cop in the Capitol. This wasn’t about law and order (even though they use that phrase as a dog whistle), but for them to get away with things and you see that extending to the senators who supported that administration.
