Donald Trump Intentionally Infected Blue States and Intentionally Withheld Tests For Covid-19

Just after I posted Trump’s Suspension of Travel From Europe Sealed America’s Fate For Major Covid 10 Spread, news came out that Jared Kushner, Donald Trump’s son-in-law,  developed a national testing strategy.  Donald however, was looking for a re-election advantage.  As reported in Vanity Fair,

Most troubling of all, perhaps, was a sentiment the expert said a member of Kushner’s team expressed: that because the virus had hit blue states hardest, a national plan was unnecessary and would not make sense politically. “The political folks believed that because it was going to be relegated to Democratic states, that they could blame those governors, and that would be an effective political strategy,” said the expert.

That logic may have swayed Kushner. “It was very clear that Jared was ultimately the decision maker as to what [plan] was going to come out,” the expert said.

I took another look at the Department of Homeland Security’s list of airports allowing the landing of planes from Europe carrying American citizens.  There are 13 airports on the list.   Other than Texas, Georgia and Florida, the planes were not allowed to land in other southern states.

Donald Trump exploited Covid-19 , intentionally allowing the virus to infect Blue States, not provide testing through the federal government, and blame Democratic Governors for the spread and lack of testing.

Now, the Lincoln Project has come out with a video about it.

    • Two sides,
Indeed. What if another country was found to intentionally cause conditions to cause the death of its citizens? It is beyond time for other countries to speak up and against what Trump is doing to America’s citizens.

    • Speaking of Jared, isn’t he the one who used MD’s archaic Body Attachment law to jail his renters?

      • Hmm. Hadn’t heard about that. Interesting.

        • MD had a law that I thought was no longer even on the books, let alone enforced, but: https://www.baltimoresun.com/maryland/bs-md-jared-kushner-arrests-20180130-story.html

        • ps: I’d read about Body Attachments as something related to debt, especially in Prince George’s County, MD, where folks were being hit with suits on expired debts, but losing by default for not showing up, with as little as 700dlr of debt, while in Montgomery County, MD, ppl had to have 3000dlrs or more to be sued, because more of them knew (and had time off & transpo.) to go to court and defend!

          • Shira,
If I’m understanding correctly, Body Attachments are the civil version of criminal arrest warrants. There does seem to be discrimination in the way things are handled in MD from county to county. It’s something I plan to research.

          • Hmm, yes, I think. What happens w/a body att. is that the debtor is (usually by default) found liable for the debt, a judgement is rendered, and then the landlord must go for a money judgement, and I think he can, in MD, then also request the bench warrant, which is not an arrest at all, but only a notice to police to bring the ‘debtor’ in and hold in custody (so, in the jail) until the money judgement court date, since having defaulted for the initial judgement is an argument that the tennant is avoiding the debt. And there is definitely intense discrimination by county in MD. There have been a good number of studies on the subject comparing esp. Mongomery to PG counties, as the transpo. situation is so dire in PG county, and being “Ward 9” of DC, so many former District residents now live on the MD side, in PG cnty, and in such poor conditions, that it is easy for a predatory landlord to take advantage, while far more difficult in richer, better educated, and better served by Ride-On and Metro Montg. co. (sorry, don’t get me started on them!).

Let me catch up on some other posts and then try to find the refs I spotted (damn, I wish I’d kept good notes back then, but it’s been a hecktic past few years…). Sorry, I am so tired, please do not let me forget about this.

          • and on debt (but that article seems to be gone?): “Not all of the MD debt-related laws are worth following:

“our police, court commissioners, and corrections officers should be preventing and punishing actual crimes, not being forced to collect on private debts like enforcers in a Dickens novel. … there’s not enough legal aid to go around and the consequence can be time in jail. ”

( PG and Baltimore Counties, but especially PG county, are targets for debt-buyers and collectors who will sue for as little as 700dlrs, while up in Montgomery Co, it takes a debt of 3000 on average to be sued, despite SoLs!! Pass the word to defend in court, and make them validate any debts!!!)”

Prince George’s County requested arrest warrants for 38 debtors who owed an average of $2,462”
