Attorney General Jeff Sessions Is Out

“Jeff Sessions has been forced out as attorney general. “At your request, I am submitting my resignation,” Sessions wrote to the president Wednesday. President Trump tweeted the news, writing, “We thank Attorney General Jeff Sessions for his service, and wish him well!”
A senior Justice Department official said that White House chief of staff John Kelly called Sessions to request his resignation. The president did not call him. Sessions has repeatedly come under attack by Mr. Trump for recusing himself from the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.
Matthew G. Whitaker, Sessions’ chief of staff, will now become acting attorney general, and he will also oversee the Russia investigation that the president often refers to as a “witch hunt.” Before Whitaker joined to the Justice Department, he wrote an opinion piece for CNN in August 2017 criticizing the investigation by Special Counsel Robert Mueller.
Whitaker argued that Mueller should not be able to investigate the Trump family’s finances in the course of his probe. “It does not take a lawyer or even a former federal prosecutor like myself to conclude that investigating Donald Trump’s finances or his family’s finances falls completely outside of the realm of his 2016 campaign and allegations that the campaign coordinated with the Russian government or anyone else. That goes beyond the scope of the appointment of the special counsel,” Whitaker wrote.”

I seriously didn’t see that coming, but I’m glad he’s out of there. Shame on him for being the main guy who came up with that fallacious BIE investigations and reports when he won’t do crap about WIE especially after Charlottesville went down.

A few hrs ago Ian Long a 28 yr old white male and a former Marine went into the Thousand Oaks bar in California killed 12 people(one of which was a LEO named Sgt Helus) wounded 18 before killing himself.
1.Since Ian Long was a white male you are getting the mental illness excuse. Ian wasn’t mentally ill. What mentally ill person plans and executes a massacre as well as uses smoke bombs to do so.
2. Ian Long was a Machine Gunner for the Marines. He used his training to commit this massacre. However, the disrespecting the military crowd is very silent. It appears that disrespecting the military only applies to black NFL players.
3. He killed a cop. I haven’t seen David Clarke,Heather MacDonald,Harry Houck,Rudy Giuliani comment on the loss of Sgt Helus life of the condemnation of Ian Long.
4. DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano warned that the upcoming wave of lone wolf attacks will include former veterans. Janet was vilified and had to apologize because she included veterans with Muslim extremists. It turns out she was correct and is due an apology.

I heard about it the morning after the shooting happened. When I found a news article about it (I forget which source), I knew it was a White guy because his picture wasn’t there, he was called a mass shooter and not a terrorist, gangster, or killer, and he was mentioned briefly. It’s sad how I can see the formula of situations like this and I know I’m not the only one. Yes, the mentally ill excuse was used and they did bring up his military record. Do you know who else had a military record? Timothy McVeigh. I’m just saying. Yeah, I didn’t see any Black NFL players go shoot up a bar, but they’re supposed to be SOBs according to the president.
I did see that he killed a cop. Once again, Blue Lives Matter is freaking silent on this issue. Looks like Ian wasn’t treated like someone else who had the same last name as him.
That’s just terrible for getting that backlash for telling the truth. As much as I don’t like the lone wolf narrative as it implied that it’s just one individual instead of a group let alone being indoctrinated by others (see Dylann Roof and Nikolas Cruz), but there is a legit point about former veterans attacking people even though they aren’t the only suspects. Not only that, but a bunch of these mass shooters had a bunch of priors, too. How is it some of the most violent criminals are the ones outside the jail while people of a certain skin color get locked up for years or decades because they may or may not of had a bit of drugs on them?

Some others do not see them because they were never personally subjected to them. They don’t “hear” nor “see” them. They are quick to suggest to POC what they should or shouldn’t do, with no forethought of the double-standards.

Yeah, seriously. I know that from experience. Even if the words “race card” aren’t used, I’ve been accused of being “hateful” or have “racist-colored glasses” in previous conversations. How am I hateful for calling out hate?

It’s my opinion that the reaction you talk about is a wrongfully, accusatory distraction. It’s like the person who cheats on their partner and then accuses the partner of holding on to the past when they do it again. It is intended to put others on the defense as a distraction from the main issue. What it does is tell us what type of person we’re dealing with. They have no intent of addressing the issues based on facts.

Right on, Xena! I wished I learned about the concept of projection when I was younger (a psych class would’ve helped), and I would’ve been able to have detected those cases earlier whenever people tried to pin their failures on me whether they were peers, teachers, and even some past employers.

There are people who like to compare themselves to others. Most have a competitive spirit about themselves along with low self-esteem. In order for them to feel better about themselves, they want to place others on personal defense. The root of it is shame and it is intended to give a foothold to other things, such as blame, fear, dishonesty, hatred, etc., all things necessary so that the one doing the projection and/or deflection is taking authority over the other person.
Whether or not one is a Bible believer, there are good lessons contained that apply to the psychology of man. In the Garden of Eden, we see that the first emotion felt by the man and his wife after they disobeyed God was shame. Adam was so ashamed that he actually blamed God for giving him the woman. Fast forward to the Gospels and the temptation of Jesus Christ in the wilderness. The tempter preferenced his challenges with “If thou be the Son of God, then ….”
The deflection and projection tactic is the same. It wants the person challenged to prove that they are (fill-in the blank) and it’s setup so that if the person challenged walks through that door, they have given the person making the projection or deflection authority to judge and rule over them.

Not long ago I read an article that questioned why Guiliani double-talked in his advocacy for Trump, and the writer suggested that Guiliani wanted Trump to look bad out of retribution for his not giving him an appointment. It made sense.

No tears from me over an evil person such as Sessions getting the boot. However, the good news came with a catch we now have an illegal acting AG who will attempt to taint Mueller’s investigation.

I feel the same. It’s like talk about impeachment. Although I believe that Trump has committed impeachable offenses, Pence is not the person I want to be President.
