Brendan,
Health issues might determine when I retire from blogging, or cut back to maybe once a month. Because I mainly focus on trials, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to get all of the necessary information. Some of the most important cases hang in limbo for years. This year, I stopped reporting trials as they occur and just wait for the verdict.

Ah. Yes. That’s all totally understandable. It’s really important that you take care of your own health too. And yeah, trials take foreeevvvvveeeeerrrrr to go through.

Dear Xena,
Happy Anniversary, congrats to a superstar and a super hero. Don’t you dare stop blogging as your voice is needed and then don’t listen to me. Getting older is bitch. Every time I go to the doctor, they find something wrong with me. So, I figure if I don’t go, they can’t find anything.
That’s life.
You’re the best. Hugs, Gronda

Gronda,
If the doctors were finding new things wrong, it would be less stressful for me. I’ve waited over a year and a half for a referral and this year, 4 months for a referral. Last week I went to Emergency Care and the doctor was disgusted and must have taken intervention action because the next day, my phone ranged all morning with specialists’ offices calling to make appointments.
This reply is late because this morning I had an early appointment and could not drive because my pupils were being dilated. I used Lyft to get me there. When I tried scheduling for a ride back, the app could not find an “internet hotspot” so couldn’t find the location and would neither let me enter it manually. The staff was very helpful and eventually arranged for me to get a taxi without an hour’s wait.
Because my eyes were very sensitive to light, I couldn’t get on the computer and finally around 5 p.m. my time, I laid down for a nap that ended up being 4 and a half hours. LOL! Three more appointments this week to go.

Dear Xena,
You are singing a familiar tune because I’ve done the same. When the doctors finally get a hold of you, you are spending a lot of time visiting them.
I just had a recent Dr. appt. too. It’s the first time in a long time that the doc spent over an hour and 1/2 negotiating what I would and would not do. There was a lot of give and take to where we arrived at a pact. You can tell that I’m a former sales person.
Getting older is not for sissies.
Here I was hoping that you were taking a break to do something, like taking a trip to Hawaii.
I find dealing with these things, exhausting as well.
But what you are doing is better than the alternative. Hang in there.
Hugs, Gronda

Gronda,
Better than the alternative is right! This too will past. After this week, there is another procedure I have to schedule. Thankfully, I am feeling somewhat better since completing the Z-pack but if I don’t have the other procedure done soon, that might reverse. 😦

Roach, thanks so much for your kind words and words of encouragement. We’ll see how the coming year goes. I’ve slowed down a lot this year.

Yes Roach. I love writing, so don’t think I can ever completely give it up. Last week, the ophthalmologist gave me somewhat of an “all clear” with instructions to continue eye exercises and pay attention to how much time I spend before a computer screen. I’m online now at increments that go from 10 to 30 minutes, then off for an hour or so. Eventually, I might adjust to making a schedule or sorts. 🙂
By the way, it’s good seeing you. Blessings to you, dear friend.

Xena, just take care of yourself! “Eye” know how it goes with those eyes… Good seeing you too. I stay so busy that it’s difficult to find time to stop by with any kind of regularity. Continue to do what you do. Hey, the walls are closing in on y’alls president………. You better send him a lifeline.

Roach,
I know what you mean about time. I’m trying to organize a method and schedule.
Yes, the walls are closing in, the water is rising, and the only lifeline I can send to him is to advise him to resign.
