Sunday, September 17, 2017 – Taking A Week’s Break
Friends and visitors,
Thanks to all for following, visiting and participating.
For several months now, I’ve pondered changing the theme of the blog so people can find posts on cases more conveniently. I just learned how to add drop-down in the top menu and am currently working under the menu heading “Cases.” If you hover over “Cases” a drop-down will appear with the names of victims.
There’s about 4 years of names, (I’ve counted 33 and am not yet finished) to add to the drop-down, so it’s going to take me some time to complete this project. If you’re looking for a specific case and it’s not on the drop-down, you can still use the search bar on the right-side border.
While working on that, I must put some time into visiting the blogs of new subscribers. You are important to me and I want to pay it forward. If you’re on Twitter, please let me know your handle so I can follow you. You can do that by either posting a comment below, or following me @XenaBb7.
Along with blog redesigning, there are those things that take up time in life, such as making telephone calls where you listen to 3 minutes of pre-recordings with instructions on what number to press for your issue. Don’t you just love doing that to end up hearing another recording telling you that all representatives are busy, followed with loud music played for your holding pleasure? And, what about when you get disconnected and have to start all over again?
Technology is good, and it is bad. It is convenient for businesses, but I find it inconvenient for consumers and clients. I prefer the old days when a live person answered calls and knew exactly who to transfer you to.
Enough of the soap box for now.
Feel free to use this thread for open discussion.
Have a wonderful week. I’ll see you soon.

Hi Thoughts! It depends on the them you are using for your blog. Some allow tags to be added and others allow categories. You can go under “Appearance” then “Menus” on the admin side and take a look. It was through Word Press forums that I found help.
Essentially, you place the box for the tag or category you want underneath a “primary” menu entry, a little to the right of it until it says “sub-menu”. Then you save it.

I know what you mean about telephone recordings.
Thought you might enjoy this cat’s experience with the telephone:

My thoughts and prayers are with those in the path of Hurricane Maria, now classified as a category 5 hurricane.
Its 160mph winds have caused devastating damage to the island of Dominica and is now headed for Puerto Rico.
Here is its projected path:

Good morning, Mindyme!
Dylann is appealing the sentence; the death penalty. He doesn’t want to die. There were some legal professionals who said that Roof represented himself during the sentencing phase in hope of being able to appeal if he was sentenced to death. Looks like they were right.

I think we all saw that coming, the appeal.

If I were ‘free’ to travel and had the resources I would go to Barbuda and help rebuild. So many places were devastated by Irma and now Jose.

It’s a great idea and always good to redesign one’s blog from time to time. Hope it works for you, Xena!

Kev,
Thanks. I did complete the pull-down menu under Cases/Victims, but might have missed a few. I would like to do something with “Documents” but with those being in a media file, I don’t know if I can. Plus, there aren’t too many clicks to documents. I might make a page with a table of links.
Now that I’m tired out, I suppose I will continue another week of break without writing blog posts, but I will look for posts to reblog.

Hi Kev.
It turned out to be a break from writing but not a break from work. LOL! Here’s hoping the best for you and yours.
