White Nationalist Organizers and James Alex Fields Sued for $3 Million

Tadrint and Micah Washington, the owners of the car struck in the protests held in Charlottesville, Virginia this past weekend, have filed a lawsuit in the Charlottesville, VA circuit court.

James Alex Fields He drove his car into a group of counter-protesters, killing Heather Heyer

James Alex Fields has been arrested and charged with one count of second degree murder, three counts of malicious wounding and one count of failing to stop at an accident that resulted in a death.  Fields was a participant in the “United the Right” demonstration organized by White Nationalists in Charlottesville, VA.

Fields allegedly drove his car into a group of counter-protesters.  At his appearance on Monday in court, Fields told Chief Judge Robert H. Downer Jr.  that he cannot afford a lawyer.   The 20-year old Fields has been assigned court appointed attorney Charles Weber.  Fields’ next court appearance is on August 25, 2017.  He is currently held in the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail and was denied bond.

The Washington’s allege in court documents that they were driving home when Fields drove through a group of people, ramming their vehicle from the back injuring them.

The lawsuit names Fields, “Unite the Right” rally organizer Jason Kessler and about two dozen alt-right leaders and organizations as defendants.

The Huffington Post reports;

“According to the complaint, the impact of the crash propelled multiple people onto the Washingtons’ car. Both plaintiffs say they hit the windshield and sustained head injuries. They are now demanding $3 million in damages for assault, battery, civil conspiracy and negligence, among other things.”

  1. Only 3 million, shame. I hope all those injured by Fields and the family of the young girl who was killed do exactly the same and file suit. All the organisers of this event had a hand in the death and the injuries.
    Hugs

    • Good afternoon David,
From the way that the White Supremacists dressed and carried shields, it indicates that they either wanted to intimidate counter-protesters to go away, or to intentionally hurt them.

A strange thing with timing happened to me the other day. I was browsing through free movies On Demand and came across one with Bruce Willis that was released in 2012. I had not heard of the movie. The title is “Fire with Fire”. The advertisements do not mention “Aryan” but an Aryan organization is the center of the plot.

It’s always good to see you. Thanks for the best wishes and the same to you.

By the way, awhile ago I did a post about Word Press changing the reader. When bloggers publish more than one blog post within minutes of each other, they appear in the reader in a box as a list with the blog title only. None of the content is provided, and the “like” and comment buttons are not there.

If you, or if you know of other bloggers who have noticed a lack of participation on your blogs, the reader might be the reason.

            • LOL! I try not to complain much because it’s a free hosting service. 🙂 When they removed “sharing” for posting to Twitter and other social media from the reader, I was very disappointed. Now, sharing on the reader only consists of ability to reblog.

            • They mess with the platform daily, trying to appease mobile devices over us paying clients who use desk top publishing.

            • Mr. Militant Negro,
Someone told me that they only have a cell phone to access the internet, and it’s difficult reading blog posts and almost impossible to comment. Not all bloggers who have the free hosting pay for upgrades, but a good majority of them in our blogging community do. I do for this blog and am getting ready to upgrade my other blog also. I was thinking about changing the theme for this blog, but it’s grown on me. 🙂

  2. Two sides to a story

I don’t have any problem seeing or commenting on your blog with my phone, but dislike it only because of age and not enjoying staring at small screens. It’s making my eyesight deteriorate further. That said, WordPress can be weird even viewing by computer and a big screen, because like you guys say, they keep changing stuff and it’s hard to figure out what the issues are every time something happens.

These folks should also sue the police dept for standing down, the NRA and legislators and whomever else is responsible for making it legal for citizens to openly carry military grade weapons to a protest (or anywhere else openly for that matter). We are so screwed. People think they’re safer this way, but you can see what will happen to rule of law. Every man for himself amidst dystopian chaos or people like those in Charlottesville ruling the roost.

    • Two Sides,
Thanks so much for your comment about viewing Word Press blogs via cell phone. Another thing I’ve noticed is that with some of the recent themes, they do not provide a widget to place on the blog to follow. I can scroll and keep an eye on the right-side of the screen for the “follow” button to appear, but that can be a real time-consuming pain at times.

As far as the Washington’s lawsuit, I think they narrowed it down to what directly caused them injury, which was Fields’ vehicle and why he was there in Charlottesville. If he has car insurance, I can only imagine the insurance company sitting on pins and needles wondering how many claims they will receive and if there is a clause that they are not responsible when the vehicle is used to commit a crime. Fields might very well end up like Dylan Roof, disappointed that he was suppose to be a hero but no one from Stormfront wanted to acknowledge his existence after he committed mass murder.
