The Face Of Evil … Jeremy Joseph Christian

Filosofa's Word

On Friday, 35-year-old Jeremy Joseph Christian, of north Portland, Oregon, boarded a light rail MAX train in Northeast Portland.  He apparently had a chip on his shoulder and, for no discernable reason, began berating two women, one of whom was wearing a hijab.  He began ranting and shouting, telling them to “Get off the bus, and get out of the country because you don’t pay taxes here”.  Fearing that his rants were escalating, at least three other passengers acted to try to calm Mr. Christian and protect the two women.  Two of the three men are now dead, the third is in the hospital being treated for non-life-threatening injuries, and Mr. Christian is being held without bond in police custody on two counts of aggravated murder, one count of attempted murder, two counts of intimidation in the second degree and one count of possession of a restricted weapon…

  1. Dear Xena,

This is the face of evil. These White Supremacists groups are committing acts of terrorism and should be treated accordingly. Just 6 days earlier, a White supremacist fatally stabbed Lt. Richard Collins III as he was standing at a bus stop because he was Black.

In case you don’t know already, I am getting the word out that the White Supremacists are now using VK (VKontakte) which is the Russian version of Facebook because this VK rarely throws anyone off.

    Hugs, Gronda

My thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of the three heroes two of whom lost their lives trying to shield the two Muslim women from hate and bigotry.

The follow is an excerpt from an article linked below:

The mayor of Portland, Ore., is calling on federal authorities to cancel a pair of upcoming rallies organized by conservative groups, saying the city was still “in shock” after two men were fatally stabbed on a commuter train Friday while fending off a man shouting anti-Muslim slurs.

Mayor Ted Wheeler asked the federal government to revoke a permit authorizing a June 4 “Trump Free Speech Rally” in Portland’s downtown. He also called on the government to block a “March Against Sharia” that is scheduled for June 10 but has not received permits.

“Our city is in mourning, our community’s anger is real, and the timing and subject of these events can only exacerbate an already difficult situation,” Wheeler wrote in a Facebook post Monday.

He added that he had asked the organizers of the rallies, which he referred to as “alt-right demonstrations,” to cancel their events.

“I urge them to ask their supporters to stay away from Portland,” Wheeler wrote. “There is never a place for bigotry or hatred in our community, and especially not now.”

Jeremy had the audacity in court to refer to his terrorism as patriotism. On another site I referred to this as Christian terrorism. The responses were typical denial. “This has nothing to do with the tenets of Christianity,He’s only a Christian in name.” I’ve noticed how a lot of people who call themselves Christians totally deny Christian violence. As if, Christian violence ended with the Crusades.

    • Chuquest,
I appreciate your comment, but I personally don’t paint with a broad brush. There are numerous Christian denominations because of disagreements within the churches concerning the “tenets”. I am a Christian Pacifist and have been called a heretic by other Christians because I follow Jesus Christ as the true witness of God. Jesus killed no one. He healed all who asked, even the Roman’s servant, and without demanding that they convert.

In each religion, as in each social cause, there are people who pervert the message, impugning others who do not.

Forgive me if you feel I engaged in broad brushing. I was trying to show how some people of a particular group are in denial of the crimes their members commit. I know you are a humanist in the truest sense. Once again all apologies if you felt I engaged in broad brushing Christians.

        • Chuquest,
          Apology not needed, but accepted.

        • Chuquest,
I want to apologize for those Christians who have impugned and do impugn the nature and ways of Christ.

Back in the 90’s when I was called a heretic, it was by the wife of a Southern Baptist minister. She accused me of not believing the Bible because I told her that I don’t believe God ever killed anyone because Jesus never killed anyone. She could not reconcile where Jesus said he is the true witness of the Father with all the bloodshed in the Old Testament.

Since she accused me of not believing the Bible, I presumed that she was familiar with the Bible so I told her that all before Jesus were thieves and robbers. She then accused me of slandering the prophets of God! I asked if she was familiar with John 10:8? No. She wasn’t.

What I’m trying to say is that she is the type of person who will kill, steal and destroy in the name of Christianity because that behavior agrees with her own heart. I do not know if she changed.
