Happy Resurrection Day

Dear friends and visitors,

Here’s wishing all a safe and blessed holiday.

One of my favorite movies is Risen.   It’s a movie about a Roman Tribune named Clavius who is tasked by Pilot to find the body of the crucified Christ that is no longer in the tomb, and before the three days predicted that he would rise from the dead.

Clavius sets out to find the followers of Yeshua for them to tell him where they have hidden the body. Instead, Clavius finds more than he anticipated — a man who he ordered killed and saw dead, alive again.

Below is a video interview of Cliff Curtis who played Yeshua in the movie.  When asked about his preparations to play the role of Jesus the Christ, Curtis said that he didn’t want to talk about or preach love and peace  —  he wanted to be love and peace.

Following that video is a scene from the movie that I enjoy, and hope that you will too.

  1. I enjoyed the videos of this post. However, I did not like the interview when Cliff Curtis said he don’t have blonde hair and blue eyes. I don’t know if he was talking about Jesus, but if so, Jesus is an original Hebrew and did not have blonde hair and blue eyes. Nevertheless, a powerful movie.

    • cfbostonbrian,
Thanks for the reblog, dear friend. In my opinion, Cliff Curtis mentioned the blonde hair, blue eyes description because that is how Hollywood has represented Jesus. Well, many paintings of Jesus have done the same. Yes, it is a powerful movie. I never tire from watching it.

Xena, the movie scene you posted moved me deeply. The part when Yeshua leaves the campfire with the fish is for the viewers eyes only except for the deep question that He asks the man. My heart was awakened to see Yeshua first giving the man what he needed more than physical sustenance or healing.

  5. Dear Xena and friends,

Happy resurrection day to all of you as well. I watched the interview with Cliff Curtis. He did such a great job in acting the role of YESHUA, that without the interview, I would not have made the connection.

    Thanks and hugs, Gronda
