1. Trump may lift Russia sanctions ‘if we get along’
President-elect Donald Trump may lift U.S. sanctions against Russia if relations between the two countries improve during his time in office, he indicated in an interview published by The Wall Street JournalFriday. “If you get along and if Russia is really helping us, why would anybody have sanctions if somebody’s doing some really great things?” Trump asked, though he noted he will not make any major changes “at least for a period of time.” He also suggested possible diplomatic shakeup with China, announcing that “Everything is under negotiation including ‘One China,'” the long-time U.S. policy of formally accepting Beijing’s claim that Taiwan is not a separate nation.     I am thrilled that Steve Harvey will be working with Ben Carson to head up HUD. I had worried about Ben Carson doing this job and not because he is a bad guy. I worried about Ben Carson being vulnerable to one of DT’s ideas like real estate deals that could be paid for by the gov./ US taxpayers.This is some welcome good news.

      I can’t say that I am familiar with all that HUD does. They do approve money to the counties for Section 8 programs, and some counties have not been able to distribute vouchers for years. In my opinion, the federal government can get out more information to citizens about Section 8. There are many people who work, but cannot afford to pay rent and that program can be a help for them — but there needs to be money to support the program.
