I have been crying for 2 days straight now, uncontrollably. I cried yesterday because of George Michael and not just him but OMG, how many more? And then today, this. She is the same age as me. I just don’t understand this. IDK, maybe some of it is survivor guilt because of what I went through in August/September – but this just isn’t right. Carrie Fisher was such a lovely, witty woman. I miss her so much already. I can’t stand it!

I understand where you’re coming from. It’s not survivor’s guilt, but appreciation for life.
Yesterday, some friends and I were talking about the same subject. There are people middle-age and older who think that it’s funny to mock those who are older than themselves. In my opinion, I don’t think they appreciate living. Maybe they didn’t like their parents. Maybe they haven’t accomplished anything to be proud of so getting older is not anything they look forward to.
But, when we see that even the rich and/or famous make their transition when they are our age or younger, it should give us an appreciation for life. It tells us just how fragile life is.
It was reported today that Carrie already filmed another Star Wars episode that is due for release next year. At least we have had the pleasure of knowing her via the media, and to see her again, and again.

I just read that Carrie didn’t have a star on the Hollywood walk of fame, so some fans improvised one for her. I have to check it out,but someone tweeted that her mom, Debbie Reynolds, is now in the hospital after having a possible stroke. They are in my prayers.

I’ve had the unfortunate experience of planning funerals. The stress is extensive. If one is not ill before it happens, having any illness can really weigh on the body and mind.
My prayers are for the family and friends who now have to arrange 2 funerals.

I hate to admit this but I’ve never seen Star Wars, and I don’t believe I’ve ever seen anything Carrie ever acted in but I loved her Mom’s movies; one of my all time favorites is the Unsinkable Molly Brown which I first saw when I was 9 or 10…. The stress and unbearable agony of losing your child feels like you’re going to die, even want to die, so I imagine Debbie’s heart couldn’t take the suffering. May they both rest well.
