Famous Presidential Quotes Compared To Donald Trump’s

By Guest Blogger, Racerrodig

I put together quotes from United States Presidents that I remembered and went to the trouble to look them up exactly as spoken, then added a “comparable” Trump quote. It’s fairly long and I know this would take a year to do right, but here it is………..Racerrodig’s take on the Donald’s philosophies.
“….let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself – FDR

“I would rather belong to a poor nation that was free than to a rich nation that had ceased to be in love with liberty.” – Woodrow Wilson

“I plan to implement stop and frisk in the black communities.” the Donald

“I hope we once again have reminded people that man is not free unless government is limited” Ronald Reagan

“When one side only of a story is heard and often repeated, the human mind becomes impressed with it insensibly.” – George Washington

“I know more about ISIS than the Generals….believe me.” the Donald

“Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.” JFK

“If national pride is ever justifiable or excusable it is when it springs, not from power or riches, grandeur or glory, but from conviction of national innocence, information, and benevolence.” John Adams

The point is, you can never be too greedy.” the Donald

“Mankind must put an end to war — or war will put an end to mankind.” – John F. Kennedy

“I’ll bomb the shit out of them.” the Donald

“It is now our generation’s task to carry on what those pioneers began. For our journey is not complete until our wives, our mothers and daughters can earn a living equal to their efforts. Our journey is not complete until our gay brothers and sisters are treated like anyone else under the law – for if we are truly created equal, then surely the love we commit to one another must be equal as well.” – Barack Obama

I have so many fabulous friends who happen to be gay, but I am a traditionalist.” the Donald

“In a nation that was proud of hard work, strong families, close-knit communities, and our faith in God, too many of us now tend to worship self-indulgence and consumption. Human identity is no longer defined by what one does, but by what one owns. But we’ve discovered that owning things and consuming things does not satisfy our longing for meaning. We’ve learned that piling up material goods cannot fill the emptiness of lives which have no confidence or purpose.”  Jimmy Carter

You know, it really doesn’t matter what the media writes as long as you’ve got a young, and beautiful, piece of ass.”  the Donald

“However [political parties] may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion.” – George Washington

The beauty of me is that I’m very rich.” the Donald

“He serves his party best who serves the country best.”  – Rutherford B. Hayes

“In the history of mankind many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state; and in no way has this loss of power been so often and so clearly shown as in the tendency to turn the government into a government primarily for the benefit of one class instead of a government for the benefit of the people as a whole.” – Theodore Roosevelt

“In this present crisis, government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem. From time to time we’ve been tempted to believe that society has become too complex to be managed by self-rule, that government by an elite group is superior to government for, by, and of the people. Well, if no one among us is capable of governing himself, then who among us has the capacity to govern someone else? All of us together, in and out of government, must bear the burden.” – Ronald Reagan

“Peace is the best time for improvement and preparation of every kind; it is in peace that our commerce flourishes most, that taxes are most easily paid, and that the revenue is most productive.” – James Monroe

“I’ll lower the taxes for the wealthy to 15%.” the Donald

….Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other. Oaths in this country are as yet universally considered as sacred obligations. That which you have taken, and so solemnly repeated on that venerable ground, is an ample pledge of your sincerity and devotion to your country and its government.” – John Adams

“…..check out the sex tape” the Donald

“This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing government, they can exercise their constitutional right of amending it or their revolutionary right to dismember or overthrow it.” – Abraham Lincoln

“We the people tell the government what to do, it doesn’t tell us.” – Ronald Reagan

“There is something inherently wrong, something out of accord with the ideals of representative democracy, when one portion of our citizenship turns its activities to private gain amid defensive war while another is fighting, sacrificing, or dying for national preservation.” – Warren G. Harding

“America has never been united by blood or birth or soil. We are bound by ideals that move us beyond our backgrounds, lift us above our interests and teach us what it means to be citizens.” – George W. Bush

I will build a great wall – and nobody builds walls better than me, believe me – and I’ll build them very inexpensively. I will build a great, great wall on our southern border, and I will make Mexico pay for that wall. Mark my words.”  the Donald

“No government is perfect. One of the chief virtues of a democracy, however, is that its defects are always visible and under democratic processes can be pointed out and corrected.” – Harry S. Truman

One of the key problems today is that politics is such a disgrace. Good people don’t go into government.” the Donald

“Think about every problem, every challenge, we face. The solution to each starts with education.” – George H.W. Bush

My IQ is one of the highest — and you all know it! Please don’t feel so stupid or insecure; it’s not your fault.” the Donald

“A president’s hardest task is not to do what is right, but to know what is right.” – Lyndon Johnson

Our great African-American President hasn’t exactly had a positive impact on the thugs who are so happily and openly destroying Baltimore.” the Donald

I repair to the post assigned me with no other discouragement than what springs from my own inadequacy to its high duties. If I do not sink under the weight of this deep conviction it is because I find some support in a consciousness of the purposes and a confidence in the principles which I bring with me into this arduous service. To cherish peace and friendly intercourse with all nations having correspondent dispositions; to maintain sincere neutrality toward belligerent nations; to prefer in all cases amicable discussion and reasonable accommodation of differences to a decision of them by an appeal to arms; to exclude foreign intrigues and foreign partialities, so degrading to all countries and so baneful to free ones; to foster a spirit of independence too just to invade the rights of others, too proud to surrender our own, too liberal to indulge unworthy prejudices ourselves and too elevated not to look down upon them in others.” – James Madison

The only card [Hillary Clinton] has is the woman’s card. She’s got nothing else to offer and frankly, if Hillary Clinton were a man, I don’t think she’d get 5 percent of the vote. The only thing she’s got going is the woman’s card, and the beautiful thing is, women don’t like her.” the Donald

Great research with an “informing” result. Thanks for all of the time you put into your article. The contrast is amazing.

I have always appreciated your contributions in comment sections and am so glad you are in our community here.

    • Thank you for the sentiment. The glaring difference in what the Donald says and what intelligent Presidents, and even Presidents some don’t like, is astounding.

Everyone on this blog seems to me to be intelligent, caring, sympathetic and can hold a discussion without name calling and all of that.

I have to thank my 18 year old son who has a dozen or so Stupid Trump quotes book marked on his X box, some of which I haven’t used yet. He is eligible to vote in his 1st election and is really at odds with what the Donald says and does since it is in serious contrast to what history has show a President should be.

From what I understand, this is a diverse group of people with common sense and an understanding of what constitutes fair play, the law, justice, equity and everything that goes with it and it is my pleasure to be allowed to vent from time to time on this blog.

Xena and all of you guys and gals are the best !!!!!!!

  3. Dear Racer, Thanks for an outstanding blog. We have had some thoughtful men in the White House but now we are facing a presidential contender who is challenged in this area. You forgot some of his other famous quotes like, “Its huuuuuge; Believe me; She’s crooked Hillary.etc LOL…

    Great post! Gronda

    • Gronda…..there are a few things I didn’t get to…….I think everyone needs to chime in with whatever they have as to a stupid Donald quote and I’m sure one of us can find comparable quotes by actual Presidents.

Keep in mind he hasn’t been elected yet, so when he is, well…………..his quotes should be really despicable ‘cuz…….he don’t need no speech writers……he’s smarter than all of us and he can just wing it.

      I can’t wait…………..

  5. Reblogged this on The Present and The Past and commented:
This is obviously selective to present a certain political disadvantage, but it’s fun reading and asks an important question: can we live with Donald Trump’s statements as “presidential quotations” in our future history?

    • Yes, There are quotes dating all the to our 1st President and the topics are certainly different. Some are relative to each other and some are not, but my point is the Donald probably does not actually have a high IQ, and he certainly is not smart enough to temper his mouth.

My grandfather used to say “Engage brain before using mouth” For the life of me, I cannot fathom what he says and why.

Some years ago I picked up a side gig doing Expert Reports for Consumer Fraud Auto cases. I am self employed and own a hot rod oriented shop. Laying in wait and often baiting the other party is almost always the key in winning. Any case I’m involved in would eat him alive if he were the opponent, whether the defendant, plaintiff or attorney.

He’s incapable of keeping his trap shut and waiting until the other person has finished speaking. On the debate, when Hillary was talking he blurted out “…she plans to introduce the biggest tax cut in history, she plans to introduce the biggest tax increase in history”

Well……..big mouth, which is it ??

      • Well, I certainly don’t think that he is as smart as HE thinks he is. It is so hard to tell whether his major problem is lack of intelligence or lack of experience and self-control. Either way, we don’t need him in charge of our country or the “free world.”

        • “…….. we don’t need him in charge of our country or the “free world.”

          Amen !!!

He clearly is nothing but a bully……..well, liar comes to mind as well……tax cheat also, womanizer, narcissist, blowhard, phoole, a master of deception, and not in a good sense, egotist………..so I guess, he’s more than just a bully……my bad.
