Republican Donald Trump on Tuesday night called Democrats the “party of slavery” and praised what he called the millions of African Americans with career success, as he tries to revamp his outreach to minority voters.

Trump has made much-maligned efforts to appeal to black and Hispanic voters, groups that generally support Democrats and are expected to vote heavily for Hillary Clinton in the Nov. 8 election.

“The Republican Party is the party of Abraham Lincoln,” Trump said at a rally in Everett, Washington.

“It is the Democratic Party that is the party of slavery, the party of Jim Crow and the party of opposition,” he said, referring to racial segregation laws that once existed in the American South.

  1. Is there a picture of the man where he isn’t the personification of anger? HOPEFULLY enough people will realize that hating what is – even when it’s *not* based on obfuscation of past comments – is NOT the same as having a plan for the future. God help us all if the man gets elected!

    • Mindyme,
In the last several days, I wondered about his supporters. One thing I noticed is that he is not being recorded with supporters sitting behind him like he has previously. Maybe that’s because some of their facial expressions spoke volumes when Trump made personal attacks and used words that are not becoming of any intelligent, professional person.

    • Akeem,
The impression I have of Trump is from his words during the campaign and since he was nominated. I heard of him on the television series but I’m not a big tv person and didn’t watch it. He’s a bigoted, sad man who lacks the character to head this country.

      • And the temperament. Who in their right mind would trust this man with our nuclear launch codes. It reminds me of the movie based on the novel by Stephen King “The Dead Zone”

        • Mindyme,
I think that if he’s elected, he will use his authority for personal reasons, just like Dubya used our military against Saddam because he threatened his daddy.

  5. I watched a great interview on UK TV tonight with Jay Mckenery, NYC writer and socilite and he said something quite revealing about Mr Trump. He said that most million or billionaires in New York Society become de facto philanthopes. They fund a Hospital pogramme or a School, or they support whatever annual Charity is Hot News at the time. Mr Trump has done none of that. I found that quite that interesting.
