Sunshine and Brotherhood Awards

We Hold These Truths To Be Self-Evident has been nominated for two awards.  Because some of the rules are the same, I’m combining this acceptance.  First, I want to apologize for the delay in accepting these awards.

SUNSHINE AWARD

Here’s a special shout-out to Roach59 for nominating us for the Sunshine Award.  Thank you, my dear friend Roach59.  It’s with much appreciation that I accept this award.

The Sunshine Award is a peer to peer award given to bloggers by other bloggers. It is given to “bloggers who are positive and creatively inspire others in the blogosphere”.

One of the reasons why I’m so late in accepting this award is because I’m not good at asking questions.   I’m always concerned about people giving out too much of their personal information on the internet.  It’s not about hiding anything but rather, avoiding mockery that is done by some trolls.  I’ll answer the questions sent, and they are the same questions to nominees.

1.  What book are you currently reading?

None at this time.  I tend to read blogs that I follow.

2.  Name one goal you plan to accomplish this week.

Write letters to my state and U.S. legislatures about needed laws.

3.  Three words that describe you.

Hopeful, spiritual, intuitive.

4.  Paper and Pen, OR a Laptop??

Laptop.  Had desk top been on the options, I would have chosen desk top.

5.  In one sentence, write a message to your younger self.

Pay closer attention to your elders, because they have already walked paths that you have yet to encounter.

The way of love is life.

7.  Even without them speaking, whose presence causes you to smile?

Pets and children.

8.  Anything you want to say about yourself.

No. LOL!

9.  What song makes you want to dance carefree?

Mostly anything recorded before 2000 that has a funky beat.  Kinda like this ….

10. How many tattoos do you have?

None.

11.  What good will you do today?

Whatever good I can, to whomever I meet, to those who ask for help, to those who need an encouraging word.

BROTHERHOOD OF THE WORLD AWARD

The questions, (and my answers) are;

1. Which blog post do you consider your best one so far?

I can’t begin to judge.  Currently, I’ve published over 1,000 posts.

2. What was the best comment ever on your blog?

Because people take the time and effort to comment, I think that all are the best comments.

3. Did you make blog posts receiving much more attention than you expected? Which one, for example?

Yes.  On July 12, 2014, I published a post titled The Impact of Trayvon Martin’s Death on America.  That post still gets views today, almost 2 years after it was written.

4. Did you make blog posts receiving much less attention than you expected? Which one, for example?

It’s hard to tell.  I blog on different subjects, and some subjects get more attention than others.
