Affidavit Filed With Court Says That Jose Baez Admitted His Knowledge That Casey Anthony Killed Her Daughter

Although I heard/watched Nancy Grace’s show when it was first reported that Caylee Anthony was missing, I did not follow the story, nor the trial of Casey Anthony.  When I heard that Casey was acquitted, my thought was that this was yet another case that would go cold because the State lacked evidence to identity the killer.  Little baby Caylee would never get justice.

It turns out that Casey filed for bankruptcy, and in her papers is an affidavit of Dominic Casey, a private investigator hired by Jose Baez.  ABC Action News obtained the affidavit.

Attorney Jose Baez and Casey Anthony

Dominic Casey alleges in the affidavit that Baez admitted that Casey Anthony killed and buried the body of her 2-year old daughter.  The affidavit also alleges that Baez told Dominic that he needed all the help he could get to find the body before someone else did.   According to Dominic’s affidavit, Casey wanted to implicate the man who discovered Casey’s body, suggesting to her attorneys that he kidnapped and killed Caylee.  According to Dominic, Casey made up the story about her dad sexually molesting her.

The documents filed by Dominic, (beginning on page 12 of the 15 page file that you can read by clicking here,) also allege that Jose Baez demanded and received sexual favors from Casey Anthony, and upon evidence, Dominic terminated his services to Baez.  It was thereafter when Baez retaliated and attempted to involve Dominic in a story of hiding Caylee’s body.

Dominic Casey’s affidavit has also been uploaded to the “Document” section of this blog on the right-side border.

    • Hey Horty! Thanks for the reblog, dear friend. What concerns me is that acquitted defendants are protected from double-jeopardy. They can infer or outright state their guilt, and the law cannot touch them.

  2. When she would refer to ‘zanny the nanny’ I always thought she meant Xanax and that she gave them to Caylee to knock her out so she could party. I don’t think anyone would be surprised to learn that Casey killed Caylee on purpose.

    • I remember hearing about the nanny, and didn’t she sue Casey?

I always wondered why Caylee’s dad never came forth.

I wish now that I had followed the case so I would know about it.

      • That was a mystery, why Caylee’s dad never came forward, I wonder if he had passed.

        • Mystery indeed. I wondered if Casey knew who the father was. I didn’t follow the case, so don’t know if Casey’s parents ever mentioned who she was dating at the time she became pregnant.

Casey had a couple of stories of who she thought the father was. She said she suspected that her father whom she said was molesting her was the father. Dna results showed he was not the father along with her brother Lee, whom she said was molesting her also. It is thought by many that her father did not come forward because he lost his granddaughter and would go along with anything not to loose his daughter too.

          • We raise our children to love and be loved unconditionally. I’ve always been a believer that life is for the living but wonder if I could have stood by a child who was accused of murdering my grandchild. But even as I write this I know I would. But what Casey did was sick in so many ways. I wonder how she sleeps at night.

        Xena,

There was never a Zanny the nanny, along with many others she referred to. She made them all up. I followed the whole case, and not a question in my mind she killed that baby.

“There was never a Zanny the nanny, along with many others she referred to. She made them all up.”

WHAT?!? I thought the nanny sued her for defamation, but maybe that is the woman she knew whose name she used for the (non-existent) nanny? The court dismissed that case.

There was a Zanny, but she was not a nanny, and didn’t know who Casey and Caylee were. Casey found her name on a card at an apartment office at a complex that she said she last saw Caylee at. The story changed, and she then said she met Zanny at the park, Zanny hit her and took Caylee. It the changed to her father molested her, and thought that her father had drowned Caylee in the pool because she was getting older and thought she was going to tell because he was molesting her too. So yes, this Zanny used her for defamation, and the court dismissed it. Casey said she never said it was that Zanny she was talking about, but she did admit to lying about a Zanny and served jail time for lying to the police about that and other things.

  3. Would bankruptcy papers like this normally be this ‘telling’? I’m confused. If Casey knew she had left Caylee on Suburban Drive, why did it take so long to find her? I always assumed she didn’t want her found until decomposition would make it impossible to determine how she died.

    • Mindyme,
I found the following; The Orlando Sentinel reported back in February 2015 that Baez claimed that he was owed $397,431, the largest amount in the Chapter 7 bankruptcy filing. There was $25,000 raised by the sale of Anthony’s story and the bankruptcy trustee wants that money.

Based on Dominic’s April 2016 filing, Casey Anthony is the Defendant in an adversary proceeding, so it appears that the bankruptcy trustee is still seeking to keep the $25,000.

      mindyme62,

It was a meter reader who found Caylee in the swamp, around ten houses from where she lived. She first said it was Zanny the nanny who took her. I was in shock that the jury found her not guilty.

I was in shock that the jury found her not guilty.

What blew me away was all of the tangential testimony that was allowed from Casey’s mother, father and the father’s alleged mistress just like Judge Corrupt allowed all of the testimony from the people who supposedly knew that it was George screaming and then the character witness at the end to which the State didn’t object. *sigh*

BTW, according to Dominic’s affidavit, Casey told him where to look for Caylee’s body in code, as if it was a game.

  4. You’re right that it’s not normal. Based on the PI’s affidavit, my best guess is that someone objected to a discharge of a debt, such as legal fees. He does talk about Casey’s legal fees being paid and that she agreed to give Baez rights to photos, etc. I’m going to do some research later to see if there are any earlier reports about her bankruptcy case.

  5. This is insanity !!!! I never believed her story, and as I remember, most people didn’t, but how on earth does this get this depraved ??? What the hell is in that FL water ???

I hope the members of that jury start squirming…..

Is there any remote possibility that the statement by the PI is not quite truthful? Remember this is in a civil case and the PI was alleged to have been dismissed by the attorney he is making the claims about. I know it is popular to accept it as truth when it supports the position that we hold, but without any thing to back up his story, can we take it as absolute truth? It does however keep the case in the press, but that is not necessarily a good thing either.

      crustyolemothman,

Why would the PI be in the same area searching for the body that it was found? He was talking on the phone as he was searching. Someone had to tip him off. The story at that time was Caylee had been kidnapped by Zanny the nanny, so what was the reason he was searching for a body?

    • Hey Mothman. As I stated in the post, I did not follow the case. The only opinion I had was when hearing the verdict which is that the case would go cold, not having anyone held accountable for Caylee’s death. The PI says that he was called as a witness at trial. I didn’t watch the trial so don’t know what questions were asked of him nor his answers. He says in his affidavit that he terminated the contract with Baez after seeing Casey walk naked out of Baez’s private office.

Of course it’s only one side’s allegations.
I can remember certain things that seem to back up some of his claims.

    • Hey Jacqueline! Thanks for the invitation. I read about it on your blog and really appreciate your taking the time to bring bloggers together. I don’t know if I’ll make it to the party this weekend. It’s the only time that some people who help me with yard work have available. Hopefully, it won’t rain. I’ll see if I can make time to stop by and at least say hello. Thanks again!

    • Judge Perry was cool& so was Jeff Aston
(and cute), in fact I’m gonna tweet this post to him, he might like hearing Perry speak highly of the job he did. But he was pissed after the trial & never wanted to hear about it. he prolly feels a little better now & can handle certain things.

He’s now the country attny I think. And he’s pissed me off by failing to indict cops. But he was furious about Zimmerman getting off. He was vocal about Trayvon’s murder on Twitter.

Fuck Biaz. Everyone knew he was a swarmy lying snake in the grass. He made me sick accusing Casey’s father of molestation knowing it was a lie & she wouldn’t be testifying. He got at least 200k for selling pictures in the very beginning. He deserves NOTHING! Makes me sick! And this slug represented Serino, prolly because he was going to knowingly lie about something in Zimmerman’s case.
