Blogger Recognition Award

 

 

We Hold These Truths To Be Self-Evident/Blackbutterfly7, has been nominated for the Blogger Recognition Award by two different bloggers.   Each one has different rules.  One does not require nominating 15 other blogs, and the other does, so I’m going more than half-way and nominating eight.

Thanks to Studiotj/Roach59, and Micheline Walker for paying us this great honor. 

The rules are:

1. Write a post to show your award.
2. Give a brief story of how your blog started.
3. Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.
4. Thank whoever nominated you and provide a link to their blog.

There’s nothing brief about how Blackbutterfly7 started, but the VERY short version is that this blog started because George Zimmerman decided to follow a 17-year old kid who was walking home in the rain, and killed him.  Following Zimmerman’s case was a wake-up to other issues, including how the justice system works, and the need for unity and healing of race relations.

Advice to New Bloggers

Spend time on the administration side of your blog and become familiar with what Word press offers for the theme you use. Learn to use the Reader to follow other blogs.  Visit Word Press forums.
