Updates and Open Discussion
Caterpillars, moths, butterflies, and all creatures great and small,
Have I told you lately that I love you? Here’s a hearty “THANK YOU” to all subscribers and a “howdy” added to new subscribers. Thanks for your support. This heartfelt thanks extends to those on Twitter and Facebook who post links to articles on this blog.
Rather than write separate posts for each story, here are some updates, and we can use this post for open discussion as well.

Akai Gurley and Peter Liang
On November 20, 2014, 28-year-old Akai Gurley was coming down a stairway in a housing project in Brooklyn, when rookie cop Peter Liang fired a shot. It is said that the bullet ricocheted off a wall and hit Akai in his chest. Liang, neither his partner, provided Akai with medical assistance, and Akai died at the scene.
In February 2015, Liang was indicted by a grand jury. His trial began on Monday with opening statements. The trial is not livestreamed, but Wild About Trial is writing on the daily proceedings.
The 911 call reporting the shooting has been released.
Remember the case in Cleveland where Timothy Russell and Malissa Williams were shot approximately 23 times each, and officer Michael Brelo stood trial? He was acquitted because the judge decided that it could not be determined if the bullets fired by Brelo actually killed Timothy and Malissa.
Today, the Huffington Post reported that 6 police officers who fired during that 137 shot barrage have been fired. Michael Brelo is one of them. Six more officers face suspensions ranging from 21 to 30 days, and one officer has retired. The officers have been cited for leaving the city limits without permission, and some are cited for endangering other officers by creating a crossfire situation.

Robert Olsen
In DeKalb County Georgia, a grand jury indicted 53-year old Robert Olsen, the officer who shot and killed Anthony Hill. Olsen was indicted on six charges, including 2 counts of felony murder. Hill was an Air Force veteran who served in Afghanistan. He was naked and unarmed when Olsen killed in him March 2015.
11Alive reports that Olsen turned himself in to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office on Friday, and was released on a $110,000 bond. He resigned from the police department on Monday.
If you’re into politics, the Iowa caucus is coming up, and candidates are vying for first place. Donald Trump seems to get more media attention and is said to be the number one GOP contender. He has threatened not to appear in the next debate.
Last night, Democratic candidates had a town hall meeting. I was shocked that Hillary said that the president she most admired is Abraham Lincoln. Hilliary was a young woman when JFK was President. I would have thought that she would have chosen a President that she actually experienced.

Abe Vigoda
Actor Abe Vigoda, known for his roles in the Godfather movie, and as Detective Fish on the television program Barney Miller, has died at the age of 94.
Rest in peace, Abe.
If you’ve read posts here about internet harassers who use defamation, you might be interested in knowing that a Michigan court has entered a judgment against Vicki Pate for defamation. The order includes that she take down the defamatory material that she wrote about Denise Souriall. More is coming on this that will soon be posted on the other blog.

Hey Roach.
I’ve done some work in accepting your nomination and that of another award, so figured a running open discussion and update will be good for now. Thanks for your kind words.

Sad and scary. These shootings, people actually paying attention to Trump. This country is so depressing. What is happening to America?

Welcome Ginger!
My oh my, how I wish I could answer your question. There has been talk that when people are under pressure or stress for so long, they just want to rid themselves of it. That is the attraction to Trump. His solutions are like those of a bully — to use abusive words so the problems will get scared and go away. That actually creates more problems.

The wife of disgraced Fox Lake Police Lt. Charles Joseph Gliniewicz, (who killed himself but made it look like a homicide), has been indicted.
Melodie Gliniewicz was indicted on charges of money laundering and disbursing charitable funds without authority and for personal benefit.

Wow. It turns out they were a corrupt couple. Remember how we were told this was part of the War on Cops. Due to the lies of GI Shmoe Glinewicz being shot by a interracial male duo. After all it’s only a war on Cops if a black person is accused of shooting a cop. A white person shooting a cop isn’t part of the War on Cops. See the lack of outrage for the two police officers killed this month in Utah and Ohio by white cop killers. Ohio officer Contrell was especially heinous since the killer Herschel Jones ex girlfriend saint he wanted to kill a cop.

Chuquest,
My neck of the woods is not far from Fox Lake. I was at the doctor’s office when the new came on the television in the waiting room, and thought “geez” that area is so small that no one should be able to hide or hide for long. It just didn’t feel right.
There are many small towns in Northern Illinois where people get into positions, gain favor, and then do horrible things to betray trust. As they say, “It all comes out in the wash.”
About the War on Cops. The only war on cops that I know about was conducted during the time of Al Capone, and even that was on cops who would not take pay-offs to turn their heads with Capone’s crime racket. Today’s alleged “war on cops” is something coined by the same folks who coined the “BGI.” Their double-standards and racial animus speaks volumes. Their words are foolish, and only those who have put their heads in the sand give them any credibility.

Three more terrorists from Oregon have surrendered. Ammon Bundy after the shootout he and his fellow terrorists lost ,now is calling for a surrender. LEOs realized that they couldn’t drive away this time. I also noticed how upset the racists are over LEOs killing one wounding Bundy and capturing the rest. The same racists that say Mike Brown,Tamir Rice,John Anderson, the UNARMED black Ohio couple all got what they deserved. Now say it was wrong the police to shoot at armed terrorist who dared law enforcement to come and get them

Chuquest,
I heard that Bundy instructed his followers to go home, and they refused.
Oh — you didn’t know that an elderly White man with a rifle who hates the federal government has a life worth more than a Black teen armed only with strong words who has not lived long enough to set-in any type of hate? (snark)

This is the complete video footage of a joint FBI and Oregon State Police traffic stop and OSP officer-involved shooting of Robert “LaVoy” Finicum on the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge. This footage, which has only been edited to blur out aircraft information, was taken by the FBI on 01/26/2016 and released by the FBI on 01/28/2016″

I think the WordPress spelling correction instrument changed that law enforcement’s initials to a word because it was in lower case letters. I am going to test my guess by writing the initials again again here correctly in lower case letters and see if the spelling check again changes it to a word:

“Oregon wildlife refuge holdouts can’t leave without charges”
7:38 p.m. EST February 4, 2016
Excerpt:
“Federal and state officials made it clear Thursday the remaining four protesters occupying a federal wildlife refuge in Oregon won’t be allowed to leave the site without facing the same charges 11 others were already arrested for in the 33-day takeover…
“A federal grand jury indicted the four remaining protesters and 12 others who defied authorities in connection with the takeover, according to an indictment unsealed Thursday. It charges 16 people with conspiring to prevent federal officers from performing their duties “by force, intimidation and threats.”
“The accused co-conspirators are charged with occupying the federal property “while using and carrying firearms,” threatening violence against anyone who tried to remove them from the refuge and using social media and other means of communication to recruit and encourage others to join.
“The indictments allege the group carried firearms on the federal property and refused repeated federal orders to leave. It said two of the accused met with the Harney County sheriff to warn of “extreme civil unrest” if their demands were not met.”
