1. David Bowie dies after 18-month fight with cancer
Rock legend David Bowie died “peacefully” on Sunday after an 18-month battle with cancer, his publicist confirmed Monday. He was 69. Bowie broke musical boundaries with his changing persona — such as the gender-bending Ziggy Stardust in the early 1970s — and his innovative music, which included such hits as Fame, Changes, andLet’s Dance. He released his last album, Blackstar, on Friday, his birthday.

  1. Meet the cutest girl at a campground back in the summer of ’74 that was a huge Bowie fan. My band was doing “Rebel Rebel” from his (at the time) newest album at the campground and she conned me into taking her to see Bowie at the Tower Theater in Upper Darby Pa.

    Got hopelessly lost in Philly on the way home, but that’s a story all by itself.

    I wasn’t a huge Bowie fan to that point, but his live act sure changed that. What talent. A loos to the music industry to be sure.

  2. This man was an incredible talent…. and he was married to IMAN (lol). Just hours before Bowie’s death,from cancer, was announced on his website Sunday, the 60-year-old Iman wrote: “The struggle is real, but so is God.” Enough said!!!
