Stand By Me – Playing For Change

Playing For Change is a movement created to inspire and connect the world through music.  I can’t get enough of this video.  They performed one song with artists from different countries around the world, and coordinated the video so that it sounds as if they were in the same room playing together.

Magnificent!

Thanks for posting this song, Xena. I love it! It speaks to the individual and to the community. So uplifting!

There are so many possibilities for bringing about a better world when people stand together.
When you can’t go on any longer,
Take the hand, hand of your brother,
    Every victory brings another,
Carry it on, carry it on.

“TO BE HOPEFUL in bad times is not just foolishly romantic. It is based on the fact that human history is a history not only of cruelty, but also of compassion, sacrifice, courage, kindness.

What we choose to emphasize in this complex history will determine our lives. If we see only the worst, it destroys our capacity to do something.

If we remember those times and places—and there are so many—where people have behaved magnificently, this gives us the energy to act, and at least the possibility of sending this spinning top of a world in a different direction.

And if we do act, in however small a way, we don’t have to wait for some grand utopian future. The future is an infinite succession of presents, and to live now as we think human beings should live, in defiance of all that is bad around us, is itself a marvelous victory.”

One Love is one of my favorite songs! Thanks for posting it, Xena.

May there come a spiritual breeze that moves all branches of the world as one
With their leaves dancing in harmony and reflecting the sunlight of love.

(May all the pools of tears be transformed as they reflect the Love Above while evaporating heavenward to the Lord’s ears.)

I am still listening the singing of One Love

May all people recognize that each step taken is on the holy ground of Creation and realize the heavenly possibilities of every step.

    Lyrics from this posted video:

“Let’s realize that a change can only come
When we stand together as one.”

We are the world. We are the children.
We are the ones who make a brighter day,
    So let’s start giving.
    There’s a choice we’re making,
    We’re saving our own lives.
    It’s true we’ll make a better day
    Just you and me.
