Real Neat Blog Award

real-neat-blog-award

Dearkitty has nominated Blackbutterfly7, We Hold These Truths To Be Self-Evident, for the Real Neat Blog Award. I am grateful and humbled by this nomination. Dear Kitty is a real neat blogger, real neat person, and real creative person. In creating the award, Dear Kitty wrote:

“Late in 2014, I made this new award: the Real Neat Blog Award. There are so many bloggers whose blogs deserve more attention. So, I will try to do something about that 🙂

It is the first award that I ever made. I did some computer graphics years ago, before I started blogging; but my computer drawing had become rusty 🙂

The ‘rules’ of the Real Neat Blog Award are: (feel free not to act upon them if you don’t have time; or don’t accept awards; etc.):

  1. Put the award logo on your blog.

  2. Answer 7 questions asked by the person who nominated you.

  3. Thank the people who nominated you, linking to their blogs.

  4. Nominate any number of bloggers you like, linking to their blogs.

  5. Let them know you nominated them (by commenting on their blog etc.)”

Dear Kitty asked the following seven questions;

  1. Where do most visits to your blog come from?

Answer: The United States

  1. What is your favourite sport?

Answer: It was boxing until they separated into numerous divisions. Otherwise, I am not a sports fan.

  1. What has been a special moment for you so far in 2015?

Answer: When I heard my niece announce that she and her partner are getting married.

  1. What is your favourite quote?

Answer: “When the power of love overcomes the love of power, then the world will know peace.” Jim Hendrix

  1. What was your favourite class when still at school?

Answer: Orchestra.

  1. Anything you had wished to have learned earlier?

Answer: No. I think that everything I learned in life came at just the right time as it was necessary so I would retain what I learned.

  1. What musical instrument have you tried to play?

Answer: I tried playing guitar but do play violin and some keyboard.

A Word About Award Nominations

I love our Word Press family, admire their creativity designing awards, love their blogs and honor peer acknowledgements. Nominating other blogs has become very time consuming because as I go about deciding on nominations, I find that some blogs do not have an “About” page to announce the nomination. Other blogs are now a “no award blog” for various reasons. Still yet, some blogs are using Word Press Themes that do not have borders to display awards.

I have a suggestion; that you have no reservation about asking — if I have not nominated you and you want the award, just ask. I’ve found myself mostly nominating the same bloggers because I’m familiar with their blogs and know that they display the award and pay it forward. They deserve it, but there are so many bloggers that deserve these peer-to-peer awards, and I just don’t have time to visit all of you. Do not be ashamed to ask.

How To Display The Award

For those needing help on how to display awards on your blog, here are instructions.

  1.  You will first need to click on the award and save it to your computer.
  2. Go to the Admin side of your blog and upload the award to your media file. Copy the URL for where the award is saved in the media file.
  3. Go under “Appearance” then “Image” and select “Image.” There should be prompts asking if you want to display the image on the right, left, top or bottom border. It’s your choice where you want to display the award.
  4. Paste the URL in the appropriate line in the “Image”box. You can also drag that “Image” box to where you want it to appear on the border of your blog. Click “save.” You can then go to your blog and see how it looks.

If anyone else has instructions or suggestions for displaying awards, please post them in the comment section below.  Thanks.

      • You have indeed exceeded my expectations, I thought it was a neat idea but you’ve gone way beyond what you started out to do. I might not respond on all your posts but I read them all and have learned a lot of interesting stuff.
        Again, Congratulations. Good job. :o)

Xena, you do have a great blog with a wonderful, caring community. I appreciate your articles, page appearance, and the easy access through links to documents, topics, and your past posts.

    • Yahtzeebutterfly,
Thanks so much. This is a caring community and I am very happy that you are a member. As far as the blog’s layout, I learned as I went along. It helped too by following other blogs and experiencing the different layouts and what can be done with them. I only wish that I could do a drop-down menu for “documents” and one-day, I’ll see if I can make that happen. 🙂

    • Hey Shannon! I hear other bloggers say they receive announcements from Word Press about anniversaries, when the number of likes has increased and other stuff like that. I don’t remember how to access that page and do not receive email notifications about them either. 😦

You have posted at least once since the trial. I remember because 2dogsonly came there and misrepresented why I banned her from here.

I am humbled by the awards. We have a wonderful Word Press community and it’s growing every week.

  8. To Miss Filth “J.C.”

You deleted your prior defamation blog, and if you’re thinking about having another, let me warn you that there is a lawsuit trying to be served on you, and I shall also file one.

If anyone is wondering what this is about, see https://flightattendantfailures.wordpress.com/about/

By the way, I suppose that she is extremely angry that snopes.com linked to this blog, and her response is to try to defame me. Trying to defame me does not change the facts that I reported AND SUPPORTED in that article. Snopes would not have linked to it if the reported information was not credibly supported and verifiable.

      Xena,

The type of person who resorts to nasty defamation and to lies does not like the exposing glare of the light of TRUTH.

I very much appreciate all that you do as an advocate for equal justice, Xena.

The haters, racists, and White Supremacists seem to go after those who push for social justice and equality as Shaun King does. This happened during the Civil Rights Movement and seems to be happening today.

      • Yahtzee,
That’s the thing. I really don’t know how “social justice” is defined. If others place that label on me, that’s fine and I accept it, but for me, I’m simply a person who believes that all are created equal and I hold this country accountable for applying the constitution to all citizens.

Honestly, I would not know of Shaun King had the haters not put the spotlight on him in their tweets. Even then, I figure that as long as he does not promote violence and hate, there is no reason to attack him. I actually had to ask someone what #BLM means on Twitter.

You are correct. The Civil Rights and Peace Movements suffered the same experience of having certain people attacked, slandered, even assassinated. One would think that we have progressed since then, but the methods of man’s destruction doesn’t change.

These racists need to change their ways. They need to know that they can’t suppress the movement for freedom and equality.

All the world over, so easy to see
People everywhere just wanna be free
Listen, please listen, that’s the way it should be

Peace in the valley, people got to be free
You should see, what a lovely, lovely world this would be
If everyone learned to live together

  10. Linda Andersen

Congratulations Xena! BTW, as I’ve told you before, I look like cottage cheese! My father had Black in his heritage. He had curly black hair and brown eyes. His older brother looked exactly like him–same facial features–yet he had curly blond hair and blue eyes. Go figure!

    • Just think, Linda! Still, you’re human.
I look at some of the most beautiful flower gardens. There are flowers of different colors, petal shapes and sizes. Man can take what God has created, put that type of diversity together, take photos, and they make unforgettable, gorgeous reminders. Yet with some people, they don’t see the beauty of all of mankind. Thanks for reminding us of that beauty.

    • Hey Dearkitty! Thanks so much for the nomination. At this time, I will not be able to participate. The three quotes are easy enough, but I cannot commit to also nominating three blogs each day because I have doctor appointments and additional tests to take. Your graciousness is appreciated and I am sorry that this time I cannot be a part in this fun challenge.
