Any Topic Discussion

Caterpillars, moths, butterflies, and all creatures great and small,

There are at least three stories I want to blog about, so I’m working on getting information.

Use this thread to discuss whatever is on your mind.

UPDATE, URGENT ANNOUNCEMENT

This week, two long-time subscribers notified me that they are not receiving notifications for new posts.  If Word Press didn’t burp, then the problem might be with your email provider.

Blog administrators have no control over who subscribes and whether they subscribe for email notifications for new posts and/or comments.   Since our number of subscribed followers has not decreased, I suspect the problem is with the email provider.

First, check to make sure that emails from Word Press are not going into your junk mail folder.  I understand that some of the free email providers have changed their system recently.  You will want to approve  “*.wordpress.com” emails.

If that’s not the situation,  when you post a comment, see if the box that appears asks if you want to subscribe to new posts and/or comments.   If that box doesn’t appear, then your subscription notifications should be okay and the problem is with your email.

Why (make that WHY) hasn’t the dash-cam video from Prairie View city police officer Penny Goode’s cruiser been released yet?

It will show what occurred between Trooper Encinia and Sandra because Goode’s cruiser directly faced that area.

Does the dash cam video contradict the claims by Encinia and Goode who said that Sandra kicked Encinia? Is that why they have not released it yet?

Also, why have they not released the video from Sandra’s phone? Was it tampered with?

    • great questions, also how come during the struggle he never mentions or gives any sound of being hurt? a kick to the shin really hurts, there is nothing there but skin and bone and kicking bones HURTS……..and when she say you threw me to the ground, IF he had been kicked first he would have replied something like because you kicked me……i assure you the dashcam will show contact between the back of her foot and his leg during the take down, not a kick at all.

This reporter has been going through the newly released jail video footage for the entire time that Sandra was in jail. So far she has tweeted the following:

    Leah Binkovitz ‏@leahbink 15h

Going through the entire three-days worth of footage now. We’ll see how far I get tonight.

Bland answers the jailer’s questions while seated facing Encinia who fills out paperwork at a desk in the intake room.

A few minutes in, her and Encinia seem to exchange words but Bland stays seated and calm while answering jailer’s questions in intake room.

Getting a closer look, Bland is definitely upset. Seated but appears to be crying when she first enters intake room.

So far during first interview Bland appears calm. In the background, trooper fills out paperwork, Duhon said it’s booking inventory form.

Her legs are crossed, she shakes her foot quickly and brushes at her hands and arms. At one point she shows Goodie her wrist.

It also looks like Bland is crying for a fair amount of the four and a half hours she’s in the holding cell that Friday night.

Got through roughly 24 hours worth of footage that cover everything from July 10. Will pick up tomorrow, between working on stories.

I noticed that when Sandra passed the front counter desk upon her arrival, she seemed much taller in relation to the counter than when she is shown later standing there making phone calls.

So, if Sandra used the trash bag, why don’t we see trash on the floor in those cell photos taken by reporters afterwards? I mean the molded sandwich still sat uneaten on her nightstand , her jail shoes on on the ground, etc.

Did Sandra have a supply of trash bags and that is why we see the trash can still lined by a trash bag and no trash on the floor?

An off duty detective went wild as he confronted a motorist in MA:

“‘I’ll put a hole right through your head,’ Mass. police detective tells driver”

Video of the encounter by motorist’s dash cam:

(Warning…the detective’s language is full profanities)

That is SOOOO disgusting!! WHO the heck do these cops THINK they ARE!!

It’s about time they reveal themselves on camera these days … thanks only to “mere citizens” who are astute and brave enough to document and publicize cop abuse on videos.

It is definitely time now also, though, to reveal and punish the associated cops who cover and lie for the rogue ones. Until those so-called “good” cops get in ACTUAL, REAL trouble for conspiring to conceal and/or misrepresent the facts and truth about their rogue colleagues, we will NEVER be able to prevent/reduce police abuse! As long as the “good” cops continue to lie in their reports to “protect” the rogue cops WITH IMPUNITY, police abuse will continue forever.

As a pleasant surprise, I’ve seen a few times on TV Mark O’Mara pitching the same (or essentially similar) reality – which simply MUST be addressed. I never thought I’d see eye-to-eye with MOM on much of anything. But I’m happy to see him advocating something righteous for a change, so he’s earned my applause for pushing for measures to make all those enabling cops STOP ENABLING POLICE ABUSE!

(PS – How ya doing, Yahtzee? Thanks for sharing this, even though – or especially because – it’s so disgusting.)

  5. I’m crying over the absolute ugliness of the murder of Cecil the lion. It’s been reported that he had cubs. In the lion kingdom, when the dad dies with cubs, another male lion kills them to bring the female lion into heat so he can make and create his own offspring.

That damn dentist! It’s a good thing that he doesn’t have a badge.

    • And this was by far not the first time he spent over $50,000 to kill one of these beautiful creatures. He knew exactly what he was doing. I wonder if his guides took money to look the other way.

    • This isn’t the first time he’s been in trouble of poaching. There was an article in which he was caught killing a black bear outside of hunting area and driving it back into the proper area for reporting…he was caught then too.

He knew what was happening….baiting the lion with a dead animal, getting him to follow it until was outside of the park and then shooting it with a bow. Poor animal survived for another 40 hrs until tracked down and shot with a rifle.

“U.S. Government Investigating Death of Cecil the Lion”

    http://time.com/3977476/cecil-the-lion-investigation/

    Excerpt:

The Department of Justice hasn’t said whether they’ve received an extradition request

The federal agency charged with enforcing wildlife protection laws in the U.S. said Wednesday that it will investigate the highly publicized death of Cecil the lion in Zimbabwe, following accusations that an American citizen killed the animal illegally.

“The Service is deeply concerned about the recent killing of Cecil the lion,”a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service spokesperson said in a statement. “We are currently gathering facts about the issue and will assist Zimbabwe officials in whatever manner requested.

  9. I started having problems when WordPress ingeniously decided to fix everything that was right about it, and provide us with a new face on how we see things forcing to change our actual wordpress habits of getting around to everyone more efficiently. Takes me twice as long now… just what I needed with all the additional projects I have going on… thanks WordPress!!!

    • Kev,
I should probably go to a Word Press forum and see if they have info on what and why they changed the reader. There are times when it’s necessary to do quick drive-throughs to like posts, then go back to the blog and read the rest later. When posts were reblogs, I think the “like” went to the blog that originated the post rather than the blog that reblogged it. Now, it appears that the blog doing the reblog gets the like, and it takes an actual visit to the originating blog to give them credit.

Surprisingly, after posting yesterday about the possibility that email notifications are going into the junk folder, I decided to check my junk folder and found 3 notifications. They are from blogs that I’ve followed since 2012 without any problem of receiving notifications.

“Ferguson preps for anniversary of Michael Brown’s death”
    http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2015/07/29/michael-brown-death-anniversary/30839421/

    Excerpt:

FERGUSON, Mo. — Several new city leaders will be on the front lines in 10 days when the #BlackLivesMatter spotlight returns here Aug. 9, the one-year anniversary of Michael Brown’s death.

Interim Police Chief Andre Anderson started work July 22, taking a six-month leave of absence from his job at the Glendale, Ariz., Police Department in suburban Phoenix. Interim City Manager Ed Beasley was hired June 9 after working in Glendale from 2002 to 2012.

Both are black, better reflecting the population of this St. Louis suburb of 21,000 residents, which is more than two-thirds African American. Two black City Council members were elected in April, joining one previously serving on the six-member council.

“I’ve asked the police department to adopt four things as we start: We want to embrace professionalism, we want to embrace respect, we want to embrace community engagement and we want to make the community safer,” Anderson said.

“Were hoping for, obviously, (is) a little bit of a different situation” from the protests that turned violent following Brown’s death, Beasley said. “They can expect we’re going to be very encouraging, supportive, but also make sure the laws are upheld, but making sure people have the right to exercise their civil rights the proper way.”

  12. on the Bland case, there is something very wrong with the autopsy findings, they claim they found 18 MICROgrams of thc in her system more than 3 times the legal limit in colorado and washington states, the problem is their standard is in NANOgrams which means they are claiming she had well over 3000 times the legal limit, there is simply no way to consume that much to attain that level in the system…….they are simply LYING about what they found and this shows either the “experts” are clueless or liars, either way they need to learn some basics.

      Bill,

I certainly agree that something is very wrong with that. It causes me to suspect foul play.

Also, someone pointed out that something happens to the eyes of a hung person. This apparently did not happen to Sandra.

      Like

      • i looked at more reports and found where the error could be some reports say 18 micrograms per milliliter and some say per liter…….18 per liter would be the same as 18 nanograms per milliliter

        • There’s an expert who wrote a report about the THC found &he said it showed negligible amounts, meaning the officials are blatent liars. I tweeted it the other day so I’ll post the link of you haven’t already found out by now. Funny thing, i haven’t heard single reporter calling attention to these absolutely false allegations that Racist County made about Sandra consuming tons of pot, even tho the information is there in front of their face. Seems media is fine with corrupt PD &DA’S speading lies about another defenseless victim of police violence.

“Michael Dunn Appeals Murder Conviction Of Jordan Davis”

    • Thanks for the info. Dunn appealing his conviction is to be expected. An Appellate Court decision that overturns the conviction results in giving him another trial. The majority of the jurors in his first trial voted guilty. I’m pretty sure that the Appellate Court will consider that.
