2014 in review
Each year, Word Press sends out an end-of-the-year report on blog activity.
The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2014 annual report for this blog.

Indonesia’s National Search and Rescue Agency has confirmed that debris and bodies found floating off the Borneo coast are from the aircraft, which went missing early Sunday amid stormy weather. The Indonesian navy says that about 40 bodies have been recovered so far, of the 162 people on the flight.

I think they will find the wreckage of AirAsia fairly quickly. First they had radar coverage of the area where the jet disappeared and then the Java Sea is considered shallow (80-150 feet deep). Recovering the jet and it’s black boxes should be fairly easy vs AirFrance 447. The only thing going against them is the weather during this time of the year.

Good for you Xena!
Well deserved! : )
The good bad and ugly? The good is I never make resolutions.
Too much pressure. : )
The bad, we’ve seen way too much of police power and the hope is that will change.
In 2015 start firing the ones that shouldn’t be an officer and are in it for the wrong reason.
We have way too many good ones that would like to see that happen also, so that they can do their job right.
I think Bob Dylan and many others sing and write songs about peace and it may just be a dream but, I will never stop dreaming!
Too many people out there with guns, not for protection, but because they feel insecure with themselves. They DON’T need them!
No more wars!
OK, that’s what I would like to see in 2015.
It CAN happen!! : )
HAPPY NEW YEAR and thanks wordpress and Xena,
Xena helps keep me sane!!

Lolypop,
We are kindred spirits. I’ve neither ever given up on the dream of peace. Agree — we need gun control and people in law enforcement that we can trust and not be afraid of.
May you and your family have a happy new year. Love you.

The brother of “What’sHisName” just did an interview with the Washington Times attempting to make “What’sHisName” look good.

LOL! It’s funny that the Washington Times would re-hash an article first published in July 2013. They haven’t learned that George revealed himself to the public on his non-emergency call. People can remember different portions, or all of that call, but a most significant part that most people do remember is:
“Are you following him?”
“Yeah.”
“Okay. We don’t need you to do that.”

NYPD Officer Wenjian Liu’s wake is today and his funeral is tomorrow
My prayers and supportive thoughts are with the family of Officer Wenjian Liu today.
He was a man of great kindness. Excerpt from this article link:

I am filled with great sadness that Wenjian Liu was so horrifically shot and killed.
Heartbreaking.
May you rest in peace Wenjian Liu.

Liu will be mourned at a wake Saturday from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Aievoli Funeral Home in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn, before the funeral at the same location the next day.

Yahtzeebutterfly,
This thread is about the Word Press annual review for this blog. People are more likely to want to discuss the subject of the cop killed and share their condolences there, than here.
If you are of the impression that showing compassion for a police officer killed is not appropriate on a thread that addresses and challenges that we do not believe that all cops are bad, then I am sorry. The most recent thread is the subject in which the officer’s funeral should be posted.

Eurobrat,
Great minds think alike. 🙂 We opened Blackbutterfly7 in August 2012, but I took several weeks becoming familiar with the software before publishing anything. Word press offers lots in the programming, and I’m still learning.

I still get confused by the wordpress format sometimes! Forget “great”, I’ll settle for a semi-functioning mind 🙂

Well Eurobrat, Word Press is known for making changes. The moment I get accustomed to using one thing, they change it. LOL! The last change they made to the box for writing really slows me down.

Not liking this comment for WordPress being complicated, just “liking” because someone else is having the same problems as I am and we can commiserate 😉

Overall, I eventually get used to the changes, but the one they made to the text box still slows me down. We could also use a feature that denies following to those who follow in bad-faith. I have 2 of them — down from 3.

Wouldn’t that be nice? But that would probably need to go with a mind and intention-reading machine of some sort, which we don’t yet have.

Eurobrat,
They could just give us a button so when a person follows in bad-faith, we can click it to “unfollow.” The thing is, anyone and everyone can read, but using the widgets such as “My Community” means that followers can appear unless the options are changed. I changed the options so that only those clicking like or posting comments appear in My Community. That was to keep the gravatar of a member of the cyber-extortionist gang from appearing in My Community as part of their lying agenda. She hasn’t launched that widget on her own blog.

Okay, I see what you mean and I agree. We should definitely have control over who follows our blogs. There’s no reason why you should have to deal with a**holes following your blog because they want to do harm to you
