o-ARREST-facebook23-year-old Officer Nathanial Robinson pulled over 76-year-old Pete Vasquez.   Vasquez works for a car lot, and was driving a car owned by his employer. Vasquez tried explaining to Robinson that dealer tags are exempt from inspection. That didn’t help. Robinson threw Vasquez on the hood of his cruiser and then took Vasquez to the ground. The dash cam caught the confrontation until Vasquez was on the ground. Out of the view of the dash cam, Robinson tazed Vasquez twice. Robinson is now on administrative leave.

“He just acted like a pit bull, and that was it,” Vasquez recalled. “For a while, I thought he was going to pull his gun and shoot me.”

Vasquez was transported to Citizens Medical Center for treatment, where he spent the next two hours in police custody. He was eventually released with out being charged or cited.

Police Chief J.J. Craig offered a personal apology to Vasquez on Friday.

Larry Urich, who works as a sales manager at the car lot, told the Advocate that the officer should be both fired from the force and prosecuted for assault.

“I told the officer, ‘What in the hell are you doing?’ This gentleman is 76 years old,” Urich said. “The cop told me to stand back, but I didn’t shut up. I told him he was a goddamned Nazi Stormtrooper.”

Here’s the dash cam video. My question is, was Officer Robinson playing a Rap CD in his cruiser?

    I cringed seeing Robinson twist Mr. Vasquez’s arm back, slamming him to the hood, taking him to the ground…all uncalled for. Yes, I could hear the rap playing in the cruiser. Convenient that it should drown out any conversation…except for Robinson yelling “put your hands behind your back” after he tased Mr. Vasquez. Rambo cop. I think he should be fired.

    I firmly believe the whole country will start to ” rethink” when the cops start doing this to Caucasians.

      They do it to Whites also. We report on it here. Two that I immediately think about are Kelly Thomas and Ethan Saylor. The cops that killed Kelly Thomas walked, although their words and actions were caught on camera. The cops who killed Ethan were not indicted, although the medical report evidenced that Ethan’s larynx was broken — killed by choke hold.

      There’s a system involved. That system includes prosecutors and then extends to members of grand juries and trial juries. It’s a system where people can and often do use their biases in making decisions. “Nazi stormtroopers” seems to apply, because when prosecutors, jurors, and even the public believe that victims were (or had they lived), been burdens on society, then their lives mean nothing.

      Kelly Thomas was mentally ill and homeless. Ethan Saylor was Down Syndrome.

      Patricia Cook on the other hand, was a Sunday School teacher. The cop who killed her was sentenced to 3 years.

        Here’s one where I live. I happened to be one of the witnesses to part of this. Mr. Briscoe was known in that area and was mentally handicapped, but as harmless as could be. Many times when I went in, he would ask for a cup of coffee or something to eat.

        I almost always told him to get what he wanted and treated him, usually an egg, sausage, cheese on a bagel sandwich and coffee. The story here is far from accurate as they let him bs his way so he could avoid any prison. What I saw…..

        About 8:25 I went in and Briscoe asked for something to eat and I said come on in and pick what you want. I made a joke with him about meeting at “Le Beck Fine” which is a very expensive Philly spot. He laughed and said he’d finish his smoke 1st.

        I had to get moving so I went back into my truck which was on the side of the bldg away from and out of sight of the doors. I had a call on my cell phone, which was used by the investigators, and I was eating my sandwich. A minute or so later I heard a major commotion and got out and saw the cop choking Mr. Briscoe. The cop kept screaming “Stop Resisting” and clearly Briscoe was not as he was almost completely limp. The civilians stated were NOT helping to subdue Briscoe but trying to get the cop to stop. Between 30 seconds and a minuter later several other cops showed up one being a friend of mine. The cops made sure at that point they were blocking the security camera angle but it was to late.

        The media made it seem like Mr. Briscoe was some wild superman, he was my size and lighter. 5-9 maybe 165.

        The mental care facility Steinenger mentioned is right next door to the WaWa……literally. This was a case of a cop butting in where he did not need to. The facts are…

        A man was allowed to walk next door to get something and did….legally.

        He was not allowed to smoke in the store, so he did so outside.

        He asked those of higher means for some charity, and most readily did and cops knew this

        Cop rousts mentally handicapped man for no reason resulting in his death.

        Civilians make efforts to intervene and are threatened with arrest.

        Cop takes all video phones…..illegal and not mentioned

        Family sues and wins several millions (Yes !!!)

        Cop banned from all civil jobs (Yes !!!)

    What was wrong with this clown. Detaining someone and cuddling him for having expired plates? Finally the police are being exposed for being ignorant elitists that some of them can be. They feel empowered with a badge. They think they are better than normal citizens and they conduct themselves as such. Most of them that abuse have racist agendas and power trips. They are really just guys that were bullied when they were young. This is their chance to retaliate, although, a bit late in life.

      It wasn’t even expired plates. I guess that Texas has some sort of inspection for vehicles and sticker is placed on the plates showing that the car passed inspection. That is in some counties in Illinois, like Cook county, where they try to control air pollution.

      I can see why car dealerships would be exempt from those inspections for used cars. It would be up to the purchaser so that the inspection is also registered to purchasers.

      But, Mr. Stormtrooper turned legislature, lawyer, and car dealership owner, thought Pete was lying.

        Xena, Texas actually has the registration sticker on the windshield and that, from what I gather is what was missing. However with a valid dealer plate on the vehicle it is exempt from the need for the registration sticker in most cases. I did not see it mentioned, but the dealer plate may have not been valid causing the officer to question its use. The question is, how much force can an officer use when the suspect resists the officers request for a search for weapons? Do we as citizens have any responsibility to comply with a lawful request for identification or a search if requested? I can’t and won’t defend the actions of this officer, and those questions were just trying to understand the current reaction to compliance with an officers requests…

          The question is, how much force can an officer use when the suspect resists the officers request for a search for weapons? Do we as citizens have any responsibility to comply with a lawful request for identification or a search if requested?

          IMHO, that depends on the situation, the people involved, and how the police operate with conceal carry laws. Many times, it might depend on the cops listening to the individual they stop. For example, the woman taking her boyfriend to the hospital complied with answering the officer’s questions while also telling him of the medical emergency. But, what if had been a hot-shot cop who decided to throw her to the ground and handcuff her because she didn’t answer his questions without saying more?

          In a situation where a person is on their way to work, or to pick up their child from daycare before a specific time, and they are stopped for a traffic violation and the cop wants to search their person and/or vehicle, that cop might be questioned for his probable cause. The reason why is that the person already sees that they are going to be detained and late getting to their destination.

          There are one-answer-fits-all to such a matter. Also, there is a demonstration of illegal stop and frisk regardless of how the person stopped acts or reacts.

    Funny ???? Didn’t everyone’s least favorite gun advocate and well known high profile racist sing about the unbridled storm trooper movement some years ago. Why, yes racer…..he did !!

    Lawsuit Settled Involving Ferguson Officer Who Allegedly Choked, Hog-Tied A 12-Year-Old

    ‘WASHINGTON — A lawsuit against a Ferguson, Missouri, police officer who allegedly choked and hog-tied a 12-year-old boy in 2010 has been settled on undisclosed terms, court filings show.

    The 2012 lawsuit alleged that Ferguson Police Officer Justin Cosma, who was then serving as a police officer in Jefferson County, Missouri, and his then-colleague Richard Carter approached the shirtless 12-year-old as the boy was checking his mailbox at the end of his driveway.

    “Unprovoked and without cause, the deputies grabbed [the boy], choked him around the neck and threw him to the ground,” the lawsuit, which was filed by the victim’s family, said. The officers allegedly then “hog tied” the young boy, which means they restrained him by tying his hands to his feet. The child, according to the lawsuit, “suffered bruising, choke marks, scrapes and cuts across his body” due to his treatment by the officers, and had to be “transported to a medical facility for medical treatment.”

    The suit alleged that the force used by Cosma and his colleague was “unreasonable and excessive” and that the young child was “unable to protect himself.”

    Cosma and his colleague then allegedly attempted to charge the child with “assault of a law enforcement officer third degree” and “resisting/interfering with arrest, detention or stop.” But the suit said that prosecutors refused to take the case.

      And there we see it again. These cops are like roaches – you get rid of them from one place and they just go infest another place! Just like Derelict Wilson, who moved to the Ferguson police force from the defunct Jennings police force. Maybe Ferguson gets all the throw-away cops.

      But the same thing occurred with the guy who killed the 12-year-old in Cleveland. He was found unfit by another PD, but just moved on and into the Cleveland PD!

      The policing system is completely BROKEN – it’s like nationwide gang of hoodlums that is actually ARMED BY by our governments! WTF?!

      Roderick, and that 12-year old is likely to spend the rest of his life thinking that no matter how squeaky clean he lives, that he will never have power and control over his own life when there are others with power who abuse it.

    77 y/o did absolutely nothing to warrant any physical contact whatsoever. I’m now thinking what Natalie Jackson suggest for all LE drug testing after firing their weapon, ought to extend to altercations, period.

    My take/speculation, the police was up all night drinking combined w/several Red Bulls that day and rap music, ha; He was hyped.

    I’m appalled he even touched a citizen, (not)

    Sad I’ve become desensitized re: LE behavior. It’s expected of them to act inept. The big secret is, majority were not trained, period!

    This is why we all melt when they do something humanly.

    He definitely looks like he thinks he’s quite the hot shot. And what’s up with the nearly-shaven heads on a couple of those guys? They not only acted like Nazi stormtroopers, they kind of looked like them, too!
