  1. This is almost unbelievable! Docked 8 days pay and made to pay $500 towards the settlement!! I am so happy for Mr. Martin! This should make officers think twice!

      They probably sought to reimburse him for the cost of the van rental and presents inside. Now, had he owned the van, the settlement should have been much more.

    As a NY resident, Mr Martin needs to have this whole matter expunged.If he goes for govt jobs.handgun licenses,even some private jobs,he’ll have to mention the false arrest.Even though the wrong was done to him,he’ll have to retell this.When he shouldn’t.

    • Chuquest, for sure! Too many human resource personnel don’t know how to read arrest records and think that “arrest” means “conviction.” Well hey! There are cyber-harassers who find an “arrest” record and present it as conviction. Ignorance is rampant.
