Sounds like a great software program, but my problem isn’t trouble sleeping. I have CFS and can literally sleep 18 hours straight. My problem is that I get involved in things, (reading, writing, researching, other projects) and time gets away from me. Generally it doesn’t interfere with other things because thankfully, I’m retired. 🙂

I also have CFS and the Dr. prescribed me Ritalin. if not for that. I would be in bed 24/7. I couldn’t take being in bed anymore because I own my own business and didn’t want to get up and get it done ha. I call it my little energy pill. I am not one for taking meds. But I needed something. I tried it and it gets me through the mornings. It wears off about 2 pm. I take it at 5 am. I can take two a day. but don’t want to take one too late. I do want to sleep haha.

CFS is a complicated disease. Medication for me is like stepping on the gas pedal with a foot still on the brake. I’ve found supplements and herbs, even some from India, that work great sustaining what energy I have.

When my brain is studying a problem I cannot sleep until I figure it out. Last weekend it was HTML for tables and wondering why it wasn’t stable so yes, I get that.

LOL! I’m not sure if I remember HTML without a kick-start now. I go back to the days of DOS when programs were written in 9’s. Now, people and companies go out and purchase software because the days of main frames have gone the way of the dinosaur.

Too bad there is not “U” (for understanding). Or perhaps a “T” ( for tolerance).. Or even a “P” (for peace)… Then again, perhaps the “L” could stand for listening to others opinions in a non judgmental manner… The right to life and the pursuit of peace and happiness should be for “all” citizens of this earth regardless of what some people think… I have often wondered if a person has as much love in their heart as they say, how do they find all the room for the hate they show toward their fellow man?

TY for that seeing with your own eyes shows REALITY……….as in seeing Myers did NOT have a hoody or gun in the store means somebody is LYING about the hoody and gun……..and what criminal with his gun and disguise stashed close by stops to get a SANDWICH before he goes to get his disguise and weapon?….and NO reason for the first contact has ever been given……”suspicious” is NOT a legal reason to stop anyone, they have to articulate a reason why they were suspicious………NONE has been given…..”running” could be they didnt even notice the off duty officer and were running over some joke or silliness…….just running is NOT suspicious behavior.

A Florida appellate court ruled today that jury instructions, which unfairly made Alexander prove “beyond a reasonable doubt” that she was acting in self-defense, were wrong — and that there were other incorrect instructions that self-defense only applied if the victim suffered an injury, which Gray had not.
Today, U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown, D-Fla., lashed out at Florida State Attorney Angela Corey, who oversaw the failed prosecution of George Zimmerman and the prosecution in this case, saying, “Arresting and prosecuting her when no one was hurt does not make any sense. … What was certainly absent from the courtroom during Marissa’s trial was mercy and justice. Indeed, the three-year plea deal from State Attorney Angela Corey is not mercy, and a mandatory 20-year sentence is not justice.”

See, look at this Wall Street Journal link with this excerpt (the ME says he DID NOT swab Vonderrit’s hands):
The city’s chief medical examiner, Michael Graham, performed an autopsy on Mr. Myers on Thursday morning, and found six or seven bullet wounds to his legs and one shot to the face that killed him. In the suburb of Ferguson, the Aug. 9 police-involved shooting death of unarmed black teen Michael Brown led to weeks of protests, which included looting and confrontations with the police department. In that case, a grand jury is deciding whether to indict the white officer, Darren Wilson, on charges related to the shooting.
“Everything I’ve seen so far comports with what the officer said happened,” Dr. Graham said.
His department didn’t swab the teen’s hand to test for gunshot residue because that is an often inaccurate test, Dr. Graham said.
The final report on the autopsy won’t be released until it can include results from toxicology tests, which can take weeks, he said.

Yahtzee, I can’t access that article, requires a subscription… But it is sort of confusing that the County ME said that his dept did not swab for gunshot residue, but the first link indicates that someone in his office did submit samples to the state lab. However it does not matter, even if he did shoot the gun the officer should not have killed him, he instead should have used negotiation skills or some other non lethal method to encourage the kid to surrender peacefully.

The officer had a right to fire his weapon to protect himself. I just don’t trust the badges with guns in Missouri (as well as elsewhere). I speak from that distrust, Mothman, and hope that you understand. We need to go to the beginning and ask, why the pedestrian stop? Had there been no pedestrian stop, what then? Okay, the what if’s won’t change anything, but until I see change in the attitudes and behavior of law enforcement in St. Louis County, I still distrust them.

There is a major problem. If this “security officer” aka “rent a cop” had not attempted to violate this kids constitutional right to (1) be on a public street (2) run freely when he wished to (3) use his lawful “stand your ground rights”, we would not be having this conversation and the kid would still be alive… We have been told that the crime rate has fallen dramaticly over the last decade, allegedly primarly because of the possession and use of guns by private citizens. Yet during this same period the number of public and private police agency officers has increased. If in fact the crime rate has fallen, then we should insist on a reduction of personnel within the law enforcement community that reflects the drop in crime statistics. We also see much fear of the police officers by members of the public. To counter act this fear, we need to take a few steps to make the police less fearsome to the community, it seems that people are seeing black and white cars and suv’s and associating those colors with the police, so perhaps a change in color is in order? We could have all the police cars painted in a soothing color, I would think that any of the pastel colors would work, as they seem to create a mellow environment. The officers uniforms could be changed to a some what matching color to create a friendly atsophere as well.
We need to look at the weapons the officers utilize as well, and considering that most of the crime commited today, especially murders, is at the hand of the various police agencies, perhaps we need to develope weapons that are much more safe for the general public. With the large reduction of crime we have seen, it would stand to reason that the lethal weapons the police currently use, are outdated and no longer needed. We need to find a way to eliminate those weapons and replace them with ones that do not injure or kill any member of the general public. These are just a few changes that are in order, I’m sure other people can add to this list, remember these police officers are our employees, the are supposed to “serve and protect” the people, not “shoot and kill” the people….

You’re being funny.
I’m not filling in the blanks. You have. To ask the reason for a pedestrian stop is a serious, and valid question. No matter a person’s background, race, etc., if LE or rent-a-cop do not see them doing anything wrong at that moment, why stop them? I am not going to give law enforcement the gift of being clairvoyant predicting that if they don’t stop a person now for doing nothing, that they will commit a crime in the future.
There’s a lot of talk about “due process” for cops that kill, but that same constitutional right belongs to those they stop.

Xena, Actually, while it may appear that I am being funny, I am simply using the logic that the law enforcement community is applying to the public and instead applying it to them… IMO with the evidence that we currently have about this shooting, and keeping in mind the “security guard” has not made a legally valid claim to why he stopped the kid, the kid did have the three rights that I listed. One might be prone to ask, did the security officer identify himself to the victim? Did the kid have sufficient fear of his attacker to “stand his ground”? If the victim had been white and the attacker been black would the victim have had the right to “stand his ground”? Do the stand your ground rules only apply when the victim is white?
As for the rest of my ideas (suggestions), if the law enforcement community actually wants to rebuild their image, they are valid suggestions. At this point in a large percentage of this nations citizens, the police are nothing short of murderers and it will take radical and difficult to bring about changes to repair their image with the general public. We need to return the image of our law enforcement community to “protect and serve” and get rid of the “shoot and kill” image that they currently possess…

Mothman, as I understand it, the cop although off duty, was wearing his departmental uniform and carrying his department issued gun. He would have no doubt been recognized as a cop. So, the next question is, why do people run when they have not committed any crime? I think that depends on the experience of the person and what they fear that causes them to run. Patricia Cook drove away from a cop standing by her car. Why? No one knows because the cop shot through the driver’s side window and back of Patricia’s car killing her.
There are some people who say if you haven’t done anything wrong, then you shouldn’t run. Yet, those same people if afraid of pit bulls, and see one loose, will run or buy a gun to shoot the dog.
Re:
The only way to rebuild the image of law enforcement into a positive image, is for there to be laws that charge and prosecute them like any other citizen. “Excessive force” should not be an exclusive allegation just for them. There is no category of “excessive force” in child abuse when parents are the ultimate authority over their children. There should be no category of excessive force for law enforcement either — assault or attempted murder is what undeputized citizens would be charged with.
The killings are only part of it. When cops place citizens in choke holds, drive their faces into the ground, place their knee on necks and backs, physically collect around “suspects” like tackling in football, and handcuff when unconscious or even dead, they have been exorcised of the basic human decencies.
The way they go about it is enough to send anyone into survival mode and cause fear of being killed. There is no confidence that even when tased, that the tasing will stop even when the “suspect” is on the ground, unarmed, and defenseless.
These are folks who have the authority to write reports alleging anything they want, lying by omission or outright.
In short, too many members of law enforcement have established a pattern that unfortunately, taints the entire system. It’s like the reputation of pit bulls. So many people do not trust that breed because ____. They will never trust that breed. Law enforcement has communicated that they abuse, assault, punish, and kill under color and claim of official right and there’s not a darn thing anyone can do to stop them.

Whether or not police are looking for a suspect, they can ask you all the questions they’d like. An officer can even ask you to identify yourself, either with an ID or verbally. However, unless the officer reasonably suspects that you have committed, are committing, or are about to commit a crime, you are not required to identify yourself or answer any other questions, and may leave at any time.
South Carolina is not one of these states, nor was Norton told he was suspected of a crime.
In fact, in the video below, Brenton Norton was told by officer Liner, that he was, “not being detained.” This implies that Norton was then free to go.
However, officer Liner, with callous disregard for the actual law, proceeded to handcuff Norton until he answered his questions, despite having any reasonable articulable suspicion.
Norton: “What are you detaining (and handcuffing) me for?”
Liner: “Because you’re not giving me any information.”
Officer Liner then turned off Norton’s camera.
This abuse of power is deplorable and officer Liner should not be allowed to enforce the law any longer. You can’t go around handcuffing people because they refuse to show you their “papers.”
According to his youtube channel, Norton has filed a complaint with Forest Acres police and is requesting the police dashcam footage.

Did you ever find out who Tarean Russell was frustrated at. Trymaine Lee reported Monday why the explicit speech from the podium Sunday night by Russell.
Supposedly, a prominent civil rights leader (“she” referenced by Trymaine) wanted to charge the struggle to direct them how to organize.
No wonder these young warriors are flustered.

Wait a minute. I thought occupancy permits pertained to public buildings — not private residences. And, even if a city has an ordinance that has occupancy permits for private residences, violations are the responsibility of the homeowner — not visitors sleeping over.
If I had the name of the city, and time to research, I would dig into this more because it sounds fishy. Even public and Section 8 housing does not fine visitors — the official occupant is held accountable for how the premises are used. Those entities generally establish how many bedrooms are for how many occupants.
The standard lease for renters generally has a section that says visitors who remain over a period of time, such as 30 days, will result in an increase in the rent. I would like to know what entity issued the fine — or is this another situation where the police are making law?
