I wish tears could bring Jordan back to reunite with his loved ones, but I am glad that his parents now know that their precious son has received justice.

Even though the jury was mainly white….I said to have some faith and I’m glad I was right. This has to be a big relief of emotions for the Davis family, knowing that their son’s killer has officially been found guilty. Dunn will soon be forgotten while Jordan’s name will live on.

The movie “Secretariat” is one of my favorites. Courts and the law, waiting on the jury’s decision, can be like running a horse race. Attorneys know the work and preparation they have put into the case. They have argued with each other, and at times, the judge. Then the jury gets the case and it’s like opening the starting gate. Tense emotions exist, and we wait. We wait to see if our horse wins — not come in second or third, but first.
From the soundtrack of “Secretariat” is one of my favorite songs. For those not inclined to believe that Jesus washed sins away, I mean no offense. Think of it as redemption that applies in the retrial of Michael Dunn. Like with Secretariat, he lost one race to his competitor, but in subsequent races, Secretariat was redeemed.
Justice was redeemed this time around. It is a “Happy Day.”

I love this movie too. I used to follow Secretariat when I was young. I was glad that the racing commission finally gave Secretariat the Preakness record 2 yrs ago–it came into dispute over the time and it took 39 yrs to resolve it.

Please allow me to apologize for not seeing your comment yesterday about the verdict and giving you credit for alerting us of it. Actually, I was not at my computer and had not read the recent comments. Yahtzee contacted me in another way to inform me about the verdict. Although I anticipated a verdict yesterday, I did not think it would come so quickly — 5 hours of deliberations! It sounded like all the jury needed to do was actually decide if Dunn committed 1st degree, 2nd degree, or manslaughter because his claim of self-defense made no sense whatsoever based on his own testimony.
Can’t blame you for ogling John Guy. Had Bernie been on the case, I would have been ogling him. LOL!

😀 i was in the midst of getting ready to go get my hair done, doing my makeup and re-watching mr. guy for a number of times which is best kept to myself.
i had things set up so that although i could watch video of guy on my TV, if anything happened in court, i would hear that through my computer. i was shocked when i did, considering it was earlier than i expected. i had to leave in the middle of corey’s presser, but obviously did not miss much. what an awesome jury! they exceeded my expectations!

Thanks so much for keeping us informed, Xena. Yes, now to pray for Jordan’s parents and family that they can grieve and some day find some peace. Any little bit of peace is a blessing. They want get him back, SHAME on Michael Dunn!!!!

Tstas, One small point, far too often a person is accused of being a troll simply because they attempt to offer a different perspective than another person or group. By designating someone a troll for that reason stifles the search for truth and allows group mentality to take control and allows free thought to be curtailed to the point that often the truth never makes it to the surface. It would seem that the term “troll” is now used as a weapon quite often, and is used in a way that allows a portion of a group to establish control…

After I saw this and Yeeeeeee Haaaaaaa’d above, I sat down and prayed for his family and friends. I began praying for the Martin family and friends and for Kendrick Johnson’s family and friends. It’s not like we gloat about Duuuhhhn getting “beat” or “losing” even though it may seem like that, and those racists are already saying that, it’s about Justice.
I read some of those disgusting racist comments on the news where they claim they’d still empty their gun at one of them when they get attacked. This shows how retarded they are. Even Duuhhnnn never said he was attacked. He said he couldn’t even see Jordan when he opened fire……I swear, where do these clowns come from BUT…….the scales are turning in the favor of the true victims.
Fogen et al are/have lost every civil suit they brought and he’s still under investigation. Imagine if the Feds get him !!!!! He’ll never see the light of day a free man either.

Light is revealing darkness. Juror 4 was discovered and guess what else? Remember when I posted about the info that Darren Wilson testified before the grand jury meant that someone betrayed the confidence of the grand jury? Well, it turns out that last night, someone discovered tweets from an individual about a member of the grand jury talking to her and saying that they would not indict Wilson — and all of the evidence had not been presented. Screenshots were taken, and now the person has deleted their Twitter, but officials have stated they are looking into it.

What is amazing is that those of us who actually looked at the evidence in that case knew he was guilty. It is the thru the miscarriage of justice that he enjoys the freedom that he denied Trayvon, and allows his fan club composed mainly of the GOP/TP/NRA radicals to think he is/was a victim. The racial stupidity that surrounded that case unfortunately is not limited to a small portion of this nation, and it will take a long time to rip the prejudice from the evil hearts of far too many people… This case and the Wafer case are but a small step toward equality, but good things start with small steps.

Hey Horty! What you say is true. One thing for sure is that Dunn has set an example for others who kill and claim self-defense. They had better know that just claiming self-defense does not make it true. Before they pull that trigger, they should remember there is a club whose members include Michael Dunn and Theodore Wafer.

I am happy for Jordan’s parents, at the same time I feel so bad for Trayvon’s. I will never understand how that jury could not look at the evidence, the lies, the various stories, and use common sense to come up with a just verdict.

Had Juror 4 not been dismissed from the jury, we might not have gotten a verdict today and when we did, it might have been another hung jury. In Zimmerman’s trial, there is no doubt in my mind that Juror B37 was the plant to lead the jury to a decision of acquittal. O’Mara gave her instructions during voir dire, and based on interviews with Maddy, Juror B37 did exactly as O’Mara instructed her. No matter; karma has visited George since, and it’s still doing what it does.

You can rest now Jordan.
I have no doubt you have stood close to your Mom and Dad during their long struggle, filled with pain, since you were brutally taken away from them. I wonder how many times you appeared to them in dreams, so they would wake with beautiful memories of you. I can see you requesting all of heavens angels, to cry sweet tears of glory over all flower beds in Georgia, so your Mother will only see and smell beauty, in hopes her tears would dry. I wonder if your Father knew it was you that collected the warmth from the sun, and sent the gentle breeze to him, when he was in need of your touch.
And Thanksgiving, 2012, was such a wonderful day. You gave the blessing, and “Thanked God for your family and friends,” before being ripped away from them the very next day. I wonder how many of them knew you were seated at the table, right there with them, last Thanksgiving, to encourage tears of sorrow to be tears of joy, in memory of you.
As another Thanksgiving approaches, there will be many thanks that “Justice” was served.
Now Jordan, you can truly rest in peace, and continue to soothe, and watch over them.

My Mother passed after many, many years of illness and pain. I had asked my Mother, years before she passed, if I could please be left their wedding rings, in a will, after both my Mother and Father were gone, as I wanted nothing else, and I never asked again.
I would always talk to my Mother after she passed, and remembered her daily. My Father struggled in both health, mind, body and soul after she died. I would ask my Mother, daily, to please stand by his side to soothe him, and to welcome him when he passed.
My Father passed on my Mother’s birthday, 3 years later. All I could see was my Mother standing there, hands on hips,,,,,,,,,,,LOL………wanting to know what took him so long…………yet proclaiming it was her best birthday gift ever.
(I don’t know how my Father knew, but he sent me both of their wedding rings, and 2 of my Mother’s favorite garments, a short time before he died.)
I believe in spirit and peace. I honestly believe our loved ones are always with us, in many ways.

My heart reaches out to you with tears of joy, for you, and your connection with your son.
You call them “little kisses”…….and I have always referred to them as “kisses of awareness.”
A dream, a reoccurring smell, or most of all……..that coincidence that is too real to be anything other than meant to be sent just to you.
I believe we are able to cross many barriers when it comes to our loved ones that have passed.
A few years back, I was thinking about my Aunt that had passed from a brain tumor over 10 years before, as I was preparing to decorate for the holidays. In the bottom of the holiday box was a mailer, with an anniversary picture of my Aunt and Uncle, that they had sent me right after I had moved here. There is no reason that 8X10 should have been there, except to say, “I’m thinking of you too.”
My Grandmother always smelled of roses, a very distinct, over powering smell that drove my Father crazy because of his asthma. As a child, growing up, I always knew when she was close because of that smell. Is it any wonder that all day, at work, while being several states away, she passed away, yet that was all I smelled, before I even knew she was gone?
Or, when I was talking to a neighbor about a dear friend of mine I had taken care of in the last days of her struggle with cancer. We were in the kitchen, cooking dinner, and when I opened the silverware drawer, it wouldn’t open all the way. After tipping the drawer to find out what was blocking it from opening, I found a small silver tea strainer I hadn’t seen for years! It was a gift from my loving friend before she passed, so I would remember her every time I made a cup of tea.
And I’m certain my parents had talked about my wish to have their wedding bands, after over 60 years of marriage. But for my Father to send them to me shortly before he passed, seemed to be a “Joint” wish of approval, in knowing I would guard, and cherish them, as they did.
And I believe Jordan sent a message to every parent through his Mother today. His Mother stood with great strength, and proclaimed “Justice” had been served, for not only Jordan and Trayvon, but for every child that had no voice in their senseless murders. Peace ran through the Davis family today, as Jordan looked down upon them, with Trayvon, Kendrick, Michael, and many more standing by his side to give them strength.
Yes, I believe. And I have no fear of leaving this world behind to join my loved ones.

I will be very honest with you. I do not believe in the death penalty. I believe the dark souls from hell will arrive to collect all the evil killers, and those deserving, upon their death on this earth. I do not think it is our right to find anyone guilty of doing what we proclaim we have the right to do to them.
In short………I believe there may just be different depths of hell. (And I can name a few I would love to see at the lowest!)

Just some of my thoughts.
I really believe that the Lord was bestowing mercy and was rescuing us when in the Bible we hear “Vengeance is Mine saith the Lord.”
The Lord was “relieving” us of having to hold onto burdening, negative thoughts when the Lord said that he would handle these problem people.
I think the Lord was saving us from darkening our hearts and giving us the chance not to be washed downstream away from the natural love we possess. I feel powerful when I am armed with Love. I really do believe Love defeats darkness.

I have a hard time hating people, but no problem whatsoever hating the act of false witnessing. Bearing false witness is worst that telling a lie because wrongfully accusing others can get them into trouble. When I was a little girl I remember being told the story of Rahab in the Bible. It was not until my adulthood that I decided to read it for myself. Rahab owned a house of prostitution in Jericho. The Hebrew spies were sent there to spy on it in preparation for battle. The soldiers in Jericho caught on to them, so the two Hebrew spies went to Rahab’s house and Rahab hid them on the roof of her house. She told the soldiers that she saw the spies go out of the city gate.
There’s more to the story, such as how Rahab asked for favor for herself and family when the Hebrews attacked Jericho, as she believed that they would overtake the city.
Anyway, that is in the old testament of the Bible. When we get to the New Testament in the Book of Hebrews, it is said that God counts Rahab among the righteous. But she lied! Yes, but she did not bear false witness. Her lie saved the lives of the Hebrew spies.
I went through that to explain why I have no compassion for Dunn and Zimmerman. They bore false witness against their victims. They appropriated actions and words to them that were not said. They presented them in a false light. It was by their bearing false witness that their victims were put on trial.

Indeed, I understand. Often, I try standing in the shoes of the parents and family of victims. What would I feel if someone killed my child, and the killer disparaged my child to justify taking his life? When it appears that law enforcement treats the killer with kid gloves to protect his constitutional rights although he has taken my child’s constitutional right to life, what would that do to my emotional well-being and thoughts?
When the justice system is all we have to depend on for redress, and that system depends on lawyers who do their job and in doing so, perpetrate character assassination on the deceased who cannot speak for themselves, and the system fails to operate properly, what does that leave us? Where does that leave us?
In my mind, I would still want vengeance although my character would not allow me to harm another human being, and the vengeance is not by way of the death of the perpetrator. When hearing that the perpetrator is unemployed, unemployable, broke, in debt, and his actions have been a detriment to his family who advocated for his crime, a smile of vengeance gives me a bit of satisfaction that karma is alive and well in spite of the judicial system having been sick.

Yes, I don’t get that, why they treat the accused with kid gloves and allow and even perpetrate the slander of the victim.
Maybe one day it won’t be this way. While I do wish suffering on El Tubs and all of the those who have wrongfully denied anyone else their right to life, I doubt I could actually cause that suffering, physically..

Slandering of the victim falls in whatever that category is in which rapists are included. They want to make the victim a participate in or reason for their own victimization. Defense attorneys for rapists were quick to denigrate victims and some still are. The thing is, many rapists don’t know the person they raped. They have to dig into the victim’s personal life to find something to use to disparage them.
I know that. You don’t have to explain nor defend yourself. The only people I’ve ever seen celebrating and promoting death are the White Supremacists supporters of those who kill minorities.

Hey everybody……it’s past lights out for Duuhhhnnnn and I can still type away, kiss my beautiful wife, tell a joke, play guitar with my son (well, it’s past his bedtime) order a pizza, walk the dog (if we had one) go shopping, write a new song, watch TV, pray for Trayvon’s, Johnson’s and Browns families for Justice, sign a petition for Wilsons arrest, turn the light switch off, on, off, on, off, on, off, on, off, on, work in my shop, make money, spend money, restring one of my guitars, drink my Lemon flavored water, think about what options I have to go out for breakfast, watch a DVD, read some of Kindhearts incredible stuff, thank Xena and the 3 Chics for such great places to land and well…….you all know what I mean !!

hell — i was so excited i ordered a pizza, had a bourbon and coke then went to walk someone else’s dog (because i don’t have one)! 😀
side note: i do have to go walk my aging/ailing mother’s dog every night at 9:30 anyway, so that was not too much out of the ordinary. it has been easily 10 months though since i last sipped some fine bourbon. that was worth saving for a special occasion.

It’s hard to believe that this dastardly act took place 2 years ago. Justice was certainly achieved. Jordan’s parents have shown great restraint. They are very strong people, and my hope is that they continue to be strong for themselves and for those other unfortunate parents who have lost their children under similar circumstances. Thank you for the videos. I missed the live broadcasts.

Their sons’ blood spilled on the ground is like seed producing the seeds of righteousness for other victims and those less fortunate.

I hope you’ll add the youtube of the jury instructions. I just watched it, and it offers reason for a renewed faith in our judicial system. I’ll search a bit online for a copy of the jury instructions, but the video again shows that this Judge Healy is one helluva model of a fair and competent judge.
Judge Healy didn’t fall for all THE CRAP that Debra Nelson did – e.g., “animations,” endless BS and hot air from defense counsel, bullying of witnesses, etc. He also gave reasonable, logical, and understandable jury instructions, which sounded like they were solidly based on “pattern” or “standard” jury instructions – rather than the bizarre, jumbled, made-up instructions that Debra Nelson gave in the zimmerthug case.
My hat is off to Judge Healy! I salute him. He has resurrected some faith in and restored some integrity to the Florida judicial system — which was NO SMALL FEAT, considering the image Debra Nelson presented to the world with the theatrics and bizarre circus of the so-called trial she shamefully gave up control of in Sanford in July 2013.

I agree. What Judge Nelson did with jury instructions in Zimmerman’s case is disrespectful to the committee and Florida Supreme Court that wrote them. She effectively allowed O’Mara and West to write the instructions from scratch to the benefit of their client. I still haven’t forgiven her for not allowing voice analyst experts to testify, and that would not have been an issue had O’Mara not challenged that in the first place because he had no expert to say that it was George screaming for help.

Xena, I actually don’t think it is either! I think the press is fishing for something to fill out their version of the news. We knew from the beginning that it was an uphill battle to have Zimmerman charged under the federal hate crimes statute. Hopefully with the pending changes in the Justice Department now that Erick Holder is leaving will not sidetrack the investigations of Zimmerman, and other semi active cases that are in progress.

Mothman, after reading the article again, I remembered a comment that was submitted to this blog either late last year or earlier this year by the cyber-harasser. He wrote in that comment that when Eric Holder announced he was not prosecuting GZ for committing a federal hate crime, that Blacks would have to blame a Black person for letting them down. That is a racially bigoted perspective rather than a perspective that comes from the law and duties of the investigators.
Now, it appears that there might be some agenda in the Washington Post writing that piece although the statement from DOJ is contrary to the WP’s anonymous informers. So, this might be tied into an agenda to disparage Holder for the disappointment of Blacks in effort to reach some sort of political agenda.

I am so thankful this moment.
The Lord has given me peace throughout this whole retrial. And, as I get on my knees at night, I would always pray just for peace, not the outcome, but just for peace whatever the outcome would be.
I wanted Jacksonville to be a shining example that you could have a jury made up of mostly white people, white men, and be an example to the rest of the world to stop the discriminatory practices, stop discriminating, stop looking where we have to look at juries and say what the makeup of juries are. All across this nation, every time that the trial between a victim that is black and someone that shot him that is white, the first thing that we look at is what is the makeup of the jury. Is that: is the black victim going to be represented? And, hopefully this is a start where we don’t have to look at the makeup of the jury anymore. All we can do is put on a case and look at the minds and the souls and the hearts of PEOPLE, of human beings. NOT of skin color, but of human beings.
We don’t have to look at it if it’s the sheriff’s department, because, I was telling my wife not long ago, it’s not because someone is law enforcement or police, it’s WHO wears the uniform. It’s a job. Just like you have a job, no matter what you do, you have good doctors and bad doctors; you have good teachers and bad teachers; you have good police and bad police.
So, if we’re going to have protests against the uniform, make sure it is the PERSON in the uniform. If people in Ferguson did wrong, then let’s protest against the bad cops in Ferguson. I’m sure there are some good cops that are being hurt by this whole experience.
I want to give my heart and my prayers to all the mothers and fathers out there that have lost children, that got no justice. And, they hang their heads every day, and they speak about their child and wear buttons, and they wear wristbands, and they wear pictures of their lost loved ones. And, they cry because no one listens to them. And I get emails, and I read each and every one of them. I get text messages. I read each and every one of them. I don’t have secretaries. I read each and every one of them. They cry out. They say, “Mr. Davis, I just want to tell you about my son, just want to tell you about my daughter: they found her in a ditch. You know, the Lynette Roebuck’s of the world. You know, the Oscar Grant’s of the world. Uncle Bobby has to go and struggle and make people understand how much he loved his child.
And, I just want to say, we must in America do a better of loving each other. We don’t do a good enough job. The world looks at us, and they look up to us. Everybody tries to come over to America. Everybody tries to get a visa to come to America. And, I was so disappointed over the last few years how we are acting in America.
I just want to say something because I have the time to say it. I’m glad today that we can see something positive in American, that we can report on the news something positive tonight. Tomorrow morning we can talk about maybe this is a start here in Florida, and maybe it will go around the world that let’s do the right thing. Let’s make sure that the decisions that we make in the courtroom is based on witness testimony and the facts of the case and not on biases we may have for one another.
I just thank you all for supporting us in Jacksonville. You have all in the media have supported our family. JSO, the police department have supported our family continuously, and people from around this great country have supported Ron Davis, Jordan Davis, Lucis McBath. They have support us from day one.
And, I hope you support the other families that need your support, you know.
And lastly I want to thank Sybrina Fulton for coming on the first day. She has been like a sister to me. I want to thank for the Circle of Fathers Trayvon Martin’s Foundation. But, gathering the fathers together teaching us that even if we are disappointed in the court decisions that we don’t go out and we don’t riot. We don’t go out and tear up other people’s property. What we do is stand as soldiers, stand as great men and be a shining light that let people know that we can handle adversity and there’s different ways to handle it without making an embarrassment of yourself.
And, I stand here as a soldier for Jordan. Thank you. </em
