Just goes to prove that law enforcement doesn’t have to drag out settlements for years and years, especially when there is video that is plain and clear of police abuse.

I wonder what the trooper’s story would have been if there had been no video of the beating? Thankfully there was one. Every LE officer should be required to have body cams.

Marlene should have received double that amount, and the so-called officer should have been brought up on charges and made to remit all of his “paid administrative leave” to Marlene as well.
I hope this guy can’t even get a job as a trash collector, as I would not even trust him around my garbage.

Empowered Thug! I have watched that video dozens of times, and all I see is empowerment, and a RIGHT to do whatever he pleases. Thank God it was caught on video, or as Towerflower said: “I wonder what the trooper’s story would have been if there had been no video of the beating?
I almost wish it had not been disclosed that there was a video just he could have been slapped in the face with it after making up some story in his defense.
So, he resigned? That’s just another crime in my eyes! He should be sharing a jail cell with Wilson, and put on public display, behind bars, right next to other wild animals that are caged for public safety.

Can you imagine if this had gone farther and he didn’t know there was video……..HFS Batman !! Imagine if the rules of discovery are such that you could ambush the dork at trial with that after he denies what happened……
In fact, I believe that’s exactly how the rules should be…..certainly would weed those liars out.

My exact thoughts Racer.
Forget discovery, or information of any kind. Let them hang themselves, and bring out the videos of truth after they have told their bleeding heart lies. What chance did they give their victims? It should only be FAIR that all truthful evidence should be able to be used against them, with NO prior knowledge, so they can’t whip up some fairy tale. Make them testify, under oath, and stand by their story. This would be like watching a bottomless boat trying to float once the evidence was produced.

In case you can’t tell, this is really starting to get to me Racer. After being called a “Dumb Bitch” for giving two teens a ride after they ran out of gas after leaving the local high school, I am quickly losing all faith in humanity.

mindyme, I agree, just like the guy in Ferguson from St.Ann PD who resigned; (pointing weapon at people) I believe one of the state officials is pushing to have him not able to work in LE again.
Darren Wilson was hired from a district shut down due to corruption/racial tensions. The New Mexico Sheriff had a very shady history, yet was voted in office 2010.
Look at the idiot cop in SC who shot Levar Jones for a seat belt stop. He was 2007 best cop.
The CHP who beat Marlene Pinook, he shouldn’t be allowed to work in LE either.
