    THIS:

“If they refuse to hear us, we will make them feel us.

Some will mistake that last statement as being negatively provocative. But feeling us means feeling our pain; imagining our plight as parents of slain children. We will no longer be ignored. We will bond, continue our fights for justice, and make them remember our children in an appropriate light.”

    God Bless Sybrina.

The first that I read about what happened was a headline that said, “Black teen killed by White Cop For Shoplifting.”

This is why it’s important for people to read before summarily passing on information that has been conformed to fit a certain mindset, whether intentionally or unintentionally. The store owner did not call the cops — he said that he thought it was petty. A customer called the cops. The store’s owner also said that he wasn’t sure if the guy on the video was Michael Brown.

People are interpreting that to mean that Michael was not in the store and did not steal the cigars. They are distracted from the truth which is, the penalty for shoplifting is not execution.

We have a system in this country that says those accused have the right to face their accusers in a court of law. We gave that right to a man who killed men, women and children, and shot a U.S. Congresswoman in the head at a shopping mall. We gave that right to a man who entered a movie theater and killed men, women and children. Heck! We even gave that right to a man who shot President Reagan; a man who killed and ate parts of his victims; and a man who killed young men and buried their bodies beneath his house.

But, a box of stolen cigars deprives an unarmed 18-year old of the same right, and those with White Supremacist ideologies enter into the bigotvoyant zone that effectively distracts others who want to defend the victim rather than focus on the facts and the truth of our justice system.

Here’s the truth — the store owner did not press charges. A customer does not have legal standing to press charges — it wasn’t her property that was stolen. Without finding the person who stole with the stolen merchandise, and getting the witness to testify before a grand jury, the State could not charge Michael.

Whether Wilson knew of the shoplifting or not is of no consequence. He shot Michael at the car and Michael ran. Already wounded, the cops could have found Michael later if they wanted to. There was no logical reason for Wilson to get out of his car and shoot at Michael. And, there is neither justifiable reason to shoot him down killing him.

  4. 11pm EST: Tensions are heating up. Protesters stopped moving and a few plastic water bottles were thrown. Reporters are saying nothing is going on right now to justify what the police are doing.

They started using a LRAD–Long Range Acoustic Device–which sends out a very loud and painful to the ears tone as a method of crowd control. Dual snipers are also at the ready on top of the assault vehicles and by at the ready they are looking down their scopes at the crowd as if they are ready to pull the trigger any second. Officers also putting on gas masks so that will be the next to come.

  5. Something just occurred to me. IF, MB was charging the officer, then where is the blood trail and why was not blood trail marked by cones at the scene? After multiple shots he should have left a blood trail.

      Another excellent observation.

Based on the autopsy report, I was bothered about all of the body shots being on Mike’s right-side. Then it occurred to me that Mike had to be in the process of turning around as Wilson fired. The shot that went through Mike’s arm, exited and re-entered his chest, indicates that Mike was turning around with his hands up when that bullet hit him.

Cops are trained to shoot center-mass and Wilson didn’t because Mike was not directly facing him when Wilson started firing.

      • I’m not to sure about that…….you have to remember that if a bullet hits a bone it could also ricochet off in another direction. He may have also had his arms in front of him in a defensive pose….as if to block what was going to hit him.
