Butterfly Light Award

Blackbutterfly7 has been honored with the Butterfly Light Award. In passing on this nomination, Horty wrote:

“Xena loves butterflies. So, who else would be a great recipient of this beautiful creation? She’s a wonderful human being who champions causes that are fought in the legal arena. She works continuously and keeps us informed of events that may otherwise be forgotten. She literally “fights” for the underdog and those affected by miscarriages of justice in spite of the many attacks that she finds herself under.

My wish is to “see” her smile when she reads this post. “

I did smile, and I also shed tears. This is a very humbling honor. The entire concept of caterpillars to butterflies is what inspired the title of this blog. It blesses my heart to see others inspired by that concept.

The concept is two-fold.  As caterpillars, people see us as we appear.  They do not see us from the inside of what we really are — a life-giving creation.  At the same time, we know who we are inside and do not allow others to define us contrary to what we know is within us.

Secondly, as caterpillars, we perceive things from the ground, and from the heights that we can climb.  We know there is more — more to life — more to the beauty of life. As we go through transformation inside cocoons, it requires hope and faith. There is nothing to protect us from harm unless we have vigilant friends.  Then the struggle begins where we break free.  The struggle strengthens our wings.  As butterflies, we soar high and see the same things from a different perspective as well as new things.  Our mission is no longer survival to transform, but to bring beauty to others and reproduce life so that there are more caterpillars transforming into butterflies.

As a child in church, I was taught to let another man praise you, and not your own mouth.   In keeping with that, the following are a few comments that have been posted here.

My nominations.

This is always the difficult part. By the time I get around to complying with Rules for accepting awards, many of the blogs I would pay it forward to have already been awarded. There are other blogs that are award free, but I wish they weren’t because they inspire me.

Immediately, I thought of Coach Muller and Joe Bradshaw. Joe is a candid man, sharing real life stories that are inspiring. The Coach is a humorous yet serious person who sheds light and inspires on his blog.
