No Blood Money – No Match

Yesterday, David Alki wanted Zimmerman to fight a high profile opponent in a fight-club style match.  He said that he would donate all profit to the Trayvon Martin Foundation.

Tonight, TMZ reports that Alki has changed his mind and cancelled the match.  His reason?  The Trayvon Martin Foundation said it “stands boldly against any act of violence” and would reject David’s donations.

David has said that he decided to pull the plug altogether, saying,  “I respect the wishes of the family and in light of this we are canceling the event.”

    • Yes, but depending on the verdict in Dunn’s case, Alki might try setting him and GZ up in a fight-match. All of their supporters can pay to see it. But then, he might have to cancel it because they couldn’t raise enough money to pay GZ’s living expenses and legal fees. 🙂

  3. Amen!!! I knew they would refuse the donation, but I didn’t know that the fools would call it off and not try something else. Thank GOD!!! Maybe now Z will disappear, never to be heard from again. Sigh. I doubt it though. Seems like he is cycling every 2 weeks. But maybe this time it will be different. One can only hope.

  6. Thank you, Sybrina, Tracy and the Trayvon Martin Foundation for modeling and showing us how we can say “No” to violence, “No” to those who encourage violence, and “No” to those who would attempt to make a celebrity out of a killer.

  8. That was certainly a quick turnaround by Alki, who bragged about being controversial. I’m a little surprised he didn’t come up with a plan B, but thank goodness he just bowed out gracefully. I hope this is the last we’ll hear celebrity and Zimmerman in the same sentence.

  12. This document shows how money played a big part in creating the terrible tragedies that blacks as slaves suffered. Most people, I’m afraid, haven’t the stomach to read such history. However it is necessary to do so to understand the nature of the beast. Otherwise one will be fooled and lulled into silence, thinking that things were never that bad, when in fact they were probably a whole lot worse. Don’t think so? Then where are the stories of the other human creatures we know to exist, the pedophiles, the sadists, as well as homo-maniacs masters who might have forced their slaves to “entertain” them in ways we still hear about today? People with so much power over another, knew no bounds to their wickedness, and I’m afraid that also proved true of slave owners, holders, overseers and others of that age and day. It boggles the mind to even think of what we would certainly not hear about, because it would have been taboo even then, among the peers of the over class. But read and learn.

    • Lonnie,
So good to see your fonts.

Thanks for the link. As I read through it, it reminded me of part of a movie titled “The Boy in the Striped Pajamas” where the Nazi’s used propaganda to lead others to believe that Jews in the camps were treated with dignity, well fed, etc. Will the nature of man ever change?
