Officer Who Killed Jonathan Ferrell Indicted For Voluntary Manslaughter

In September 2013, 24-year old Jonathan Ferrell had a car accident. After crashing his car into trees, Ferrell kicked out the back window of the vehicle and headed up a hill to the first set of houses he could see. He went to a house where the occupant called police reporting a breaking and entering. When the police arrived, Ferrell had walked back to his car and was shot 10 times by Charlotte, NC officer Randall Kerrick. Kerrick was arrested.
The situation came before a less than full panel of the Grand Jury who last Tuesday, elected not to indict Kerrick for voluntary manslaughter, but said that North Carolina Attorney General Roy Cooper could resubmit the charge. The case was resubmitted to a full grand jury and today, it entered an indictment for voluntary manslaughter.
The official indictment states that Kerrick “unlawfully, willfully and feloniously” killed and slayed Jonathan Akeem Piarre Ferrell.

According to North Carolina Attorney General Roy Cooper’s office, the grand jury came to its decision after hearing evidence from the State Bureau of Investigation and Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department, which had filed the original charges.
Ferrell is a former Florida A&M University football player. He moved to Charlotte about a year ago to be with his fiancée and was working two jobs. He was unarmed when killed.

It shouldn’t be this way. It never should have been this way. I am not a person who carries a lot of faith. It’s hard to not get one’s hopes up. If we didn’t hope that things would get better, we wouldn’t be doing this, right??

Xena, Add this information to what you pulled out of my prior link and you have another clue to follow on the money trail… If one were looking at one major source of the violence toward our fellow man in this nation, this should be the first to examine… I will agree with them on one thing, guns are not the problem, it is guns in the hands of our fast growing immature society that is the problem. But as long as you have big money to be made by supplying those guns, you will not resolve the problem… Remember the root of all money is “evil” (think about those words for a moment..)

We have a case here of a man with a lengthy criminal record killing a kid who broke into his rental house Saturday morning. T
he H/O had coincidentally spent the night at the vacant rental home, to do some work when he says the kid came through a window. He wasn’t supposed to be carrying a gun at all. He walked. I smell a rat.
