Faux, good observation. IMO, there is respect for the court, the victim, and the sense of giving Wafer due process. Remember, O’Mara and West did not believe that Zimmerman should have been arrested so they never respected “due process” and turned proceedings into a circus.

Yep, like the speaking objections by the defense. Judge Nelson was consistently telling West and O’Mara to not make speaking objections and finally she allowed them to approach the bench. Some judges would not have allowed speaking objections at all. They would have required that objections fall within the rules.
Remember when Don West objected to his own objection?

You know, I can’t help but feel right now that some gun owners need to realize that guns are not toys. When they pull the trigger, they can’t bring the bullet back and bullets kill.

and then there are some of us who were brought up knowing this. you all know that i grew up around them because of the cattle ranch my family owned and operated. beyond that, my instructor was my dad — a retired special federal ageint (with gun and badge) and army sharpshooter/MP. i was taught well from the beginning.
my dad was so strict about gun handling that as children, my brother and i were not allowed to even point cap guns at each other or any other living being. made childhood games somewhat dull, but the concept STUCK like GLUE! message being — guns are not toys. it got through, loud and clear.
most of the kids i grew up with were brought up the same and no one ever considered solving problems with guns, even in my hick town. while i will not advocate for more guns, i certainly wish people who choose to own them had the training i had.
your point is so very valid xena, i think i echoed the sentiment and added my own experience.

Xenaj& Yahtzee, I got back a few minutes ago and have been able to watch just a small amount so far, so again I must thank you guys for doing the narration for us that have missed so much… I will comment on what I suspect this alleged expert is going to say about the pattern of the gunshot, especially seeing that he has brought in his target’s… They will not give a real idea of the pattern because they are flat and the face that they hit was not, nor can the paper allow for any side to side or up or down movement as the shot hit… IMO
if you hit a round object the distance between the shot will be larger if measured between the shot (projectile) than they would be if the object was flat…

IMO this witness was not as good as the defense had hoped… And on top of that where was this prosecutor during Trayvons trial, we could have used her then instead of Mz. Corley (spelling?)! I don’t think this witness will help remove the 2nd degree murder charge at all, actually with his statement that the shotgun barrel would have had to be against the screen it rules out accidental discharge… Or in other words manslaughter…

Yes, I agree with you about this witness…..tried to reconstruct without knowing some key info…..on of which was the positions of Renisha and McBride.
Also, made a lot of conclusions about the gunshot and screen door, yet never tested the shotgun with a screen …only tested it with paper targets.

It’s amazing that this man considers himself a better ME than the one that did the autopsy.. all that without a medical degree… Hmmm, did he learn all that at the doughnut shop across from the station house? It would seem that he would have contained his testimony to things that he was qualified to know, but what the heck, he got paid to say something, right… IMO, I don’t think the judge was overly impressed with this witness…

i sure found his education to be out of date and credibility to be lacking. a hired gun who will say what ever is necessary to cash a check. honestly, to think he could testify as an expert in forensic pathology is absurd, he’s a retired police officer.

I am trying to think what the defense is up to.
The defense attorney seemed to be establishing that if it was dark, Ted Wafer could not see the red dot indication that showed whether or not the safety of the shotgun was on or not.
Will they attempt to say that the defendant shot Renisha accidentally?
To counter this prosecutor came back asked the witness if shotgun owners could feel the position the safety was in.
The defense seemed to focus on the fact that the door’s peep hole was broken.
Will that be to explain why Ted Wafer didn’t just look out the peephole to discover that the person knocking was a harmless young lady seeking help? That he had to open the door to see who was knocking.
Will the prosecution come back and say, “If you need a shotgun to go to the door, why open the door?”
The defense’s expert witnesses really came to conclusions without knowing the positions of Ted Wafer.
The prosecution established that Renisha was calm and non-threatening at the car accident scene…..just confused and dazed. No doubt she was this way at Wafer’s house.
Why didn’t the police measure the distance from the front door to where Renisha’s feet were?
Why didn’t the police take the screen door the first night? Especially when the police officer saw the hole in the screen and what he thought was human tissue on the screen and its frame. The police did not retrieve the screen door until days later…..from the basement where Wafer had put it.
No swabbing or dusting for fingerprints on the doorbell button (which was not working) and none on the door.

How the heck is a peep hole broken? Idk. Just seems odd. Maybe that is why Wafer appears very nervous. Or, as Judge Judy says, “If it doesn’t make sense, it’s not the truth.”

Xena, Thanks for posting the link to yesterdays hearing… I have watched it at this point and have a couple of comments.
The defense seemed to want to indicate the possibility the victim could have been in the house prior to the shooting, but the prosecution said no finger prints found….
There were no finger prints found on the shot casing, curious why that would have mattered unless the defense wanted to open the door to the victim loading the shotgun..
It seemed as if the defense would like to suggest the screen door was open when victim was shot, it was not brought out by prosecutor that it could not have been due to location of body as shown by photo, it would have been impossible to make fatal shot from that angle….
Much was said about the tearing of the screen, but not one of the experts (shame on them) realized the barrel of the shotgun made the tear from pressure put against the recoil by the shooter, when the shotgun trigger was pulled the gun recoiled backward but the shooter was applying pressure to force it forward and down away from himself. When the recoil stopped the gun moved forward and downward hitting and tearing the screen… that is why there was not residue on that part of the screen…
Have more but those are IMO the important points that were some what muddled thru yesterday….
