Jayne Weintraub Does Not Believe Zimmerman’s Story

Jayne Weintraub

Attorney Jayne Weintraub

Not his story about the domestic violence incident.  It’s Zimmerman’s story about February 26, 2012 and why he killed unarmed 17 year-old Trayvon Martin.

Sanford Watch put this video together for when Jayne Weintraub was on a panel on HLN discussing the George Zimmerman case.  Looking back on that now, and knowing she is representing Zimmerman in the aggravated assault case, raises questions as to why Zimmerman wants and trusts her to represent him.

    • Mindyme62. So, you think she’s being paid?

I have to find the publication, but it has been reported that O’Mara referred George to Jayne.

So we have Baez turning down George and referring him to the guy on CNN, who refers him to O’Mara, and now O’Mara referring George to Weintraub. If he beats this rap, I suppose his next referral will be from Weintraub to some other attorney. Lawyers and women don’t seem to want to keep George. 🙂

  2. Thanks Xena! Very interesting. I didn’t watch any HLN so this was very interesting in light she is recorded as very much against tubs. Attorneys represent clients they probably secretly dislike but with this being recorded it just seems odd whoever chose to hire her did so.

I mean there are a ton of very hungry lawyers in Florida so why hire one who has been on HLN trashing their client? Not questioning why she took the case cause above poster nailed it but why hire this attorney?

I am guessing that O’Mara referred Jayne because this is a domestic violence case and it would appear chauvinistic if a male attorney tore into Samantha, but the optics won’t be so bad if a female does the dirty work.

    • roderick2012. That’s a good point, but it also depends on the judge. The judge assigned to George’s case is the same judge who first presided in his murder 2 case who recused herself.

If there’s a woman victim, a woman defense attorney, and a woman judge, the chauvinistic scheme might not work. Then again, it’s the Florida judicial system.

      • What will Jayne Weintraub say in court, “Well, as you know from my statements on HLN he lied about how he killed Trayvon, but, heck, let’s just forget that he has a history of lying, and now let’s really believe his version of how things went down with this domestic thing with Samantha…..Oh, and I am passing out free popcorn for those watching me perform in court.”

Blame it on Taaffe and his begging for money for George. A defendant receiving donations can no longer be considered indigent because the court has no knowledge of how much money is received.

Remember during the murder 2 case that O’Mara often spoke of George being indigent, but if he asked the court to find him as such, the Trust would have to be dissolved and George would have no “income” for living expenses.

It says that the name after amount of bail is Magic US, there is a bail bond place in Stanford call Magic Bail Bonds. Taaffe told Nancy Grace that HE paid George’s bail. How does that work? Does a person go to a bail bondsman place and give them the money for bail or do they go to the courthouse themself and pay?

Also, for anyone who knows, if he was denied indigency, does he have to pay the two court appointed attorneys that represented him until he hired Jayne?

        • Hey ChrisNY!!!! The docket has a $50 fee that I take to be compensation for the public defender.

      • Taaffe paid the 10 percent or $900 of the $9,000 bond. The balance was covered by the bondsman.

Thanks Xena! That slime ball made it sound like he paid the whole bond.

          • @ChrisNY. At least Taaffe didn’t sacrifice his house to pay George’s bail, because Frank’s house is still in foreclosure. That group is cut from the same cloth.

  5. Looks like they raised enough to pay off his speeding fine, he had his license suspended for non-payment until very recently. I remember MOM talking about declaring him indigent and I agree with you, I knew he would never do it since it would pull the plug on donations. Z put one over on the court the first time with his site and it looks like they aren’t falling for it a second time.

    http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/dec/03/alec-funding-crisis-big-donors-trayvon-martin?CMP=twt_gu

“ALEC facing funding crisis from donor exodus in wake of Trayvon Martin row”

    Very small Excerpts:

    • Rightwing lobby group appealing to major donors to return
    • Internal documents reveal so-called ‘Prodigal Son Project’
    • Network lost almost 400 state legislators over past two years

An influential US lobbying network of Republican politicians and big businesses is seeking to avert a looming funding crisis by appealing to major donors that have abandoned it over the past two years following criticism of its policy on gun laws.

The Guardian has learned that the American Legislative Exchange Council (Alec), which shapes and promotes legislation at state level across the US, has identified more than 40 lapsed corporate members it wants to attract back into the fold under a scheme referred to in its documents as the “Prodigal Son Project”.

The target firms include commercial giants such as Amazon, Coca-Cola, General Electric, Kraft, McDonald’s and Walmart, all of which cut ties with the group following the furore over the killing of the unarmed black teenager Trayvon Martin in Florida in February 2012.

    and

Alec was embroiled in the controversy surrounding Florida’s 2005 “stand-your-ground” law under which George Zimmerman, the neighbourhood watch volunteer who shot and killed the 17-year-old Martin, initially claimed self-defence. The Florida law was picked up by Alec, and, working in partnership with the National Rifle Association, used as a template for one of its “model bills”, which was then taken up by other states across the country.

    and

Despite the losses, Alec continues to be supported by some of the largest rightwing foundations in the country, including the energy tycoons the Koch brothers, the Bradley Foundation and the Searle Freedom Trust set up by the creator of NutraSweet. Alec’s list of corporate members includes companies such as the telecoms firm AT&T, energy concerns Exxon Mobil and Peabody Energy, the pharma company Pfizer, drinks giant Diageo and the tobacco multinational Altria.

    and

A total of 41 companies are listed by Alec as targets to be lured back into membership. Of those, only one – Wells Fargo – is known to be still funding the network, acting as a sponsor of the August board meeting in Chicago.

    • very interesting “Amazon, Coca-Cola, General Electric, Kraft, McDonald’s and Walmart” so these assholes where sponsoring ALEC before and just now worrying abt their image?? probably worried that their costumers wouldn’t appreciate finding out they’re getting knocked off by bullets with their name on them.

      thanks for the info!

      As explained by Word Press:

A pingback is a type of comment that’s created when you link to another blog post where pingbacks are enabled. The best way to think about pingbacks is as remote comments:

Person A posts something on his blog.
Person B posts on her own blog, linking to Person A’s post. This automatically sends a pingback to Person A when both have pingback enabled blogs.
Person A’s blog receives the pingback, then automatically goes to Person B’s post to confirm that the pingback did, in fact, originate there.

  8. Thank You SANFORD WATCH & XENA for posting this.I have driven myself crazy trying to find this!! For some reason I thought Jayne was on CNN saying this same thing.I just didn’t dig into HLN…..I should have known better! This isn’t the only video out of her & it boggles my mind why he hired her.
This is so funny about him not being indigent!!

    Like

    • Hey Marilyn!! Strange that George would hire Weintraub since she didn’t believe his story about how things happened when he killed Trayvon. Yeah — the no longer indigent is funny too. The courts are not going to provide a defense free to defendants while they collect unknown amounts of money from the public.

I’m still waiting for George to give a press conference thanking his financial supporters for not only taking care of him for more than a year while he awaited and during trial for murder 2, but for also paying his traffic fine, restoring his driving privilege, and feeding him while he awaits trial for aggravated assault.

  9. this is all great and all, but why do i remember her calling Trayvon a Thug?? i think she changed her mind later on and jumped on the trashing Trayvon Bandwagon… i’m almost positive she was a bitch Xena.
i stopped watching HLN before the trial for the way they talked about Trayvon’s murder like it was a game show mystery! and having black ppl against white, as if only black ppl could defend Trayvon.. ( they had the occasional white woman on Trayvon’s side) but that really disgusted me! You know who was vocally on Trayvon’s side, Jeff Aston ( the cute one who prosecuted Casey Anthony) why didn’t they have him on the show? he’s so white, he even has white hair! and male! and a prosecutor?

i’ll never forgive how they treated Trayvon.

    • Shannon, IIRC, it was during trial after Rachel’s testimony that Weintraub tweeted that Trayvon and George Zimmerman were both racists.

I can’t address too much about HLN because I barely watch it. During Zimmerman’s trial, and after watching it all day, I only caught pieces of HLN’s “After Dark” through Trent’s Youtube channel. He has since made those videos private.

I didn’t follow the Casey Anthony case at all — only heard bits and pieces on Nancy Grace’s program after the child was reported missing.

    • Yeah jayne towards the end of the trial had an attitude like this was all a waste of time, that GZ would be found not guilty. Even when others such as judge alex gave their commentary and I did not agree, he said it in a respectful way, he even said he believed the gun was already out! Jayne on the other hand was very defensive of GZ and his actions! I remember an episode of piers Morgan where she was on the panel, and had the temerity to say all Trayvon had to do was say…hey I’m going to my dad’s house he lives right here. Wtf? Gz was not nor will he ever be a cop!. He played super cop that night because he felt the cops were too slow and the coons always get away by exiting through the back entrance! Tray had no obligation to tell a strange man where he lived who had been following him! .
I believe jayne did not believe GZ story at first! But we have to remember jayne and MoM are friends. Once jayne and Mom started talking and mom probably telling jayne his strategy, she changed her opinion. She called mom brilliant, that is why when people disagreed with her she would roll her eyes and get an attitude. That’s why she began calling tray a racist, and saying negative things about him, that is why I cannot stand her, or Mel Robbins.!

      • She’s a stupid bitch for defending Zimmerman. And Anytime i hear someone say ‘what Trayvon should’ve done/said’ i get this urge to play the knockout game on their fucking face! How dare they suggest what Trayvon should’ve done, he was being STALKED! Period! He was the innocent! Zimmerman was the one harassing a MINOR CHILD WHILE ARMED W A DEADLY WEAPON!
This whole self defense story was a huge LIE and never should’ve been allowed by SPD, much less by the courts! A grown man doesn’t get to go after someone’s kid & shoot them in the heart and claim self defense! zimmermans 1st charge should’ve been STALKING just based on his own NEN call! Then kidnapping, then aggravated assault on Trayvon for putting his filthy fucking hands on this child as he screamed for help!
And I can’t get over the way serino helped Zimmerman attempt to STEAL Trayvon’s last words! And can’t believe that POS judge let that charade continue by disallowing the voice experts who all verified it was Trayvon, the one who actually NEEDED help & NOT the grown man with 18mns of MMA & loaded gun!
I can’t stand a world that allows a man to chase a kid w a gun then shoot him dead in his own back yard! And I can’t believe all those adults who heard this child screaming & begging for assistance could not only turn their backs on him& do NOTHING, but then actively defend the murderer even after they know the guy is trying to get away with it by using THEM!!!

        The horror just never stops!

She knows he was not telling the truth, she addmitted that herself. We all know why she is defending him know. She has to live with that. Some people are willing to sell their soul to the devil. In the end it all washes out. Look at Fogen, I think he’s beginning to understand what Gods plan for him is. Take satisfaction in knowing every breath he takes, someone is watching him. That is what is called living hell.
