Open Thread – Nov. 20, 2013

Hello everyone!

butterfliesSo much is happening.

Samantha (George Zimmerman’s ex-girlfriend) tried getting interviews with major media but because they didn’t offer to pay what she wanted, she turned them down.  Well, I suppose she needed the money to support George.

What has been reported about those things that Samantha and her mom did tell the media in hope of getting an interview, speaks volumes. (Too bad they  aren’t being paid for what they already said to the media. snark)

There are other things in the news as well.

Feel free to use this open thread.

    • Hey Mindyme62!!

I figure that Samantha (Sam) was feeding George and his dog, buying gas for his truck, paying for his prescriptions, washing his clothes, etc. without any financial contribution from him. He would want his truck note and credit cards paid as well. Let’s add that he needs a divorce attorney, and has traffic tickets to pay. Of course, she would want to be compensated more than the general thousand dollars paid by major media for sit-down interviews.

Figure that from Feb. 2012 until April 2012, George was behind in bills to the tune of approximately $35K. It’s been 4 months since his acquittal. Can we imagine how much he is behind in paying his debts? It must be mind boggling.

He bought guns to feed his mental and emotional appetites and left it up to Sam to financially support him otherwise.

I’m wondering if Zimmerman put that on his affidavit with the hope of having people donate more money to the Trust fund under the perception it’s for O’Mara and West and not for him? O’Mara’s not in charge of the Trust fund, so it would just be more money for Zimmerman to have for his pocket.

Who will support him now? Maybe he should contact the guy with the outbound telemarketing center and ask for a job.

Here’s a man who appealed for donations on the basis that he needed a legal defense, but he used approximately $35K to pay off bills — accrued bills — bills he had and were behind in paying on 2/26/12.

Then George kept his valid passport secret and sat like a potted palm while Shellie misrepresented her knowledge of the money.

They told their donors exactly what type of people they are. Like Judge Lester said, Zimmerman was going to flee the country with $135K of other people’s money.

Using the money for legal defense my foot.

Until Shellie filed for divorce, I was under the impression that they paid off both cars last year. With her petition setting forth that they owe on both cars, it means that the money they submitted back in April 2012 were past due amounts.

They weren’t JUST behind on bills as of March 1, 2012 when Zimmerman went into hiding. They were in very bad financial shape for months before then.

Don’t forget that he was given 12K from a supporter after the verdict for guns, so he had money, but apparently really did a good deal on new guns.

        • @Two sides. Yep. Buying guns were more important to him than having money to pay his bills and for his living expenses. Looks like Wes left when the money did, and then Sam had to take him in. Now there’s no Wes, no Sam, no money, no address that he can call his own.

  2. Just thinking out loud on the keyboard.

Maddy, Juror B29, was offered a job in an outbound telemarketing company. Doug Kaplan, who offered that job, opened a “campaign” for donations to Maddy.

Today, I discovered that attorney David Chico, who sat with Maddy during her media interviews, is also asking for donations and job tips for Maddy. It appears that he and Maddy do not want what Kaplan is offering. http://davidchicolaw.com/jurorb29/

What makes this interesting is that it was Maddy’s vote of not guilty that set Zimmerman free without future court action on the murder charge. In other words, had Maddy hung the jury, there would still be potential for the State to re-try.

So, while Maddy’s vote set George Zimmerman free, Kaplan has not offered George a job in his outbound telemarketing center, and Chico is not asking the public for job tips for George.

Doesn’t George Zimmerman have at least one advocate who owns a business in Central Florida willing to hire him? Or, did they advocate for his innocence while in their heart, not really trust him?

Yes, I know he’s sociopathic but there are rage issues and at least make an attempt, family to get him into a treatment program.

It is very hard to force an adult child into treatment but with this information, dangerous to self , they have a duty to try. His mother created this monster and she needs to act like a mother and step up, if not for her son, then for her safety and others too. I texted jr. You’re right, but know why they probably hesitate or refuse to help? Because George is the type of liar that not only turns things around to accuse others, but also retaliates. Remember, he stole Trayvon’s screams. George would have no problem putting a gun in the mouth of whomever tries to Baker Act him and saying it was they who wanted to commit suicide.

His family and whatever few friends he had all know that George is capable of killing. He’s also capable of pulling out his pocket knife. They’re apparently afraid of him and should be.

I agree, but that is something they should have done a long, long time ago. His family knows he’s much more dangerous now, which is why they have nothing to do with him. Where are all of those defense witnesses who spoke so highly of him? Silence.

He became addicted to drugs and one day he showed up her home with a few items to give to his kids, like his eye glasses to give to his son. This and some of his comments led her to believe that he would attempt suicide and she called the police. When they found him, they talked to him and when questioned if he was thinking of taking his own life, he denied it. When he denied it and was in a state of mind for them not to believe he would they accepted his word and left.

He didn’t attempt suicide but the smooth talker that Z is I can see him spinning it back on someone else and denying he tried anything–even if he had put the gun in his mouth. I think without video evidence they would still leave him alone.

However, there are people who take the position that Trayvon had rights to stand his ground and might have caused injuries to Zimmerman. That’s not my position. The DNA findings and lack of blood on the sidewalk supports that Trayvon never bashed George’s head, neither hit him about his head and face.

Now, what clue can we gather based on Samantha’s statement that Shellie was hitting George on the head with her iPad? In the cop shop photos of 2/26/12, there’s a distinct shape next to a wound on George’s head.

He’s not open to double-jeopardy. They should come out and tell the truth. Maybe then George will be able to sleep without drugs.

      • 2dogsonly, If SS and George Zimmerman were to jointly form this scheme to make money, it would mean that he has some how encouraged yet another woman to commit perjury. If this alleged altercation is false and SS has as reported given a sworn statement to the SO, she has a problem. I can’t make a guarantee that what has been reported is true, but quite frankly in seems that there is a lot of evidence to back her statement… Then again Zimmerman seems to have little problem in sacrificing women to achieve his wants/wishes, perhaps SS is just another little notch on his gun belt…

If you look at the bail hearing you can see how drugged he is. Plus,I don’t think he has the courage to become involved in a scam this complicated. However, now that we know Taffe made his bail that begs the question, why would he throw away 900.00 away and where would he get this money. The scam may just be hetween Sam and her mother or Taffe may be a part of it but i think 1946 and other posters are correct in tubs not being a part.

For goodness sake, where is his sister that was so fond of him. Because he is a loaded “gun” and he, as we know, is very capable of explosive mayham and murder.

Don’t know. I tend to disagree. Sam began to see the person who killed an unarmed kid. She saw him lose it at the house with Shellie and intentionally destroy property. She no doubt also knows the damage he made in Shellie’s mom’s house. If she was going to get away from George, she needed to make his violence public so if he killed her, the cops would know.

Remember what she told dispatch; “He knows how to play this game.” Sam didn’t come on that knowledge by one incident. George no doubt told her all of times he’d played the game and came out smelling like roses.

Also, she probably wanted the money because feeding and taking care of George has bankrupted her.

Does this mean you think that Taaffe in some ways contributed to the mental attitude that Zimmerman projects?

Taaffe is the fuel. He simply needed a match to light the fire. By appealing to Zimmerman’s thoughts “To Be King Again,” Zimmerman did what Taaffe didn’t have guts to do; i.e., harass Blacks in the Retreat at Twin Lakes, and patrol with a gun. For Taaffe, it was a means to violate the Fair Housing Act, but using a tenant rather than a homeowner or member of the HOA to do it.

Does Taaffe have some extreme control method over Zimmerman?

It’s a method of appealing to what is already there and encouraging that behavior.

I actually had never considered Frank Taaffe as any thing other than a leach riding on the coat tails of a newly created folk hero. Perhaps my view of him was totally incorrect?

Yes, Xena’s video does speak to us about how the hateful racists operate.

Every time we learn a detail of their methods, the more informed and effective we are against hate and racism.

  19. Shellie Zimmerman says something snapped in George making him “like a monster.”

Uh, Shellie. Nothing snapped. He just kept the monster hidden from you as long as he could.

    • In a word “Exactly” She may have “seen the light” but she was part and parcel to his aberrant behavior for several years. I’d only give her 1/4 of a pass.

      • @racerrodig. Each time I start feeling good about Shellie, she comes in the media and defends her murdering, lying, soon-to-be ex-husband. She wants something from him in exchange for not totally exposing the truth. They are both emotional extortioners.

I honor her for admitting to her crime, but she is losing my respect for her otherwise.

Hi Xena, Dr. Jeff G. (??) was on Politics Nation again today. He has her pegged. Her ego will not allow her to admit that she knew fogen was capable. She doesn’t own her role in hiding the truth about him. “Guilt”
She shifts the blame to “he” pulled me back in and it was the jury who acquitted him. Had she disclosed that they were not a couple and had a rocky marriage for over a year prior to 2/26/12, then the defense couldn’t paint fogen as the staypuff passive non violent kind of guy.
Of course we all knew there was trouble in paradise with them, just from the body language, jailhouse calls and her lack of appearance during his hearings.
She states she hopes there will be “no casualties”, uh; what the heck does she think Trayvon was?
I feel the same as you do regarding Shellie. She’s contradicting herself. Not long ago she told a reporter how the evidence was so mishandled and that had all of it been entered; we’d have a different verdict.

Thanks for the update. I caught today’s Politics Nation in passing (my phone rang). LOL!!

Guilt it right. George didn’t pull Shellie back in — the donations did. She saw what was happening and, IMO, would have not lied about the money unless she too had plans for the amount she had transferred into her own account and tucked away in the safety deposit box. It was her escape money. When the money was surrendered to O’Mara, she surrendered to George.

Shellie is trying to cover her shame. She’s ashamed of marrying a bum. He hasn’t made her angry enough yet. Just wait until the divorce. Once she experiences the real George Zimmerman again, she might sing a different tune.
