Shellie Zimmerman’s Parents Have 4 Houses in Foreclosure
House that George and Shellie rented
Based on docket sheet entries, after the verdict in George Zimmerman’s case, and while Shellie was awaiting trial in her perjury case, her parents were also going to court.
Shellie Zimmerman’s parents apparently invested in property that they rented. Of the four foreclosure cases, three are rental property, and one is for their own residence.
Case Number 2012CA001576
On March 23, 2012, US National Bank Association filed a complaint against the “non residential” house owned by Machelle and David Dean, Shellie Zimmerman’s parents. Carmillia Barns and Troy Chapman are also named as defendants. It is not known if they are tenants or co-owners. Judge Debra Nelson presides over the case.
Case Number 2012CA002452
On May 10, 2012, Bank of America filed foreclosure on “residential” property owned by Machalle and David Dean, Shellie Zimmerman’s parents. George Barns is also named as a defendant. It is not known if he is a renter or co-owner. Judge Rudisill presides over the case.
Case Number 2012CA003022
On June 11, 2012, New York Community Bank filed a complaint against “non residential” property owned by Machelle and David Dean, Shellie Zimmerman’s parents. Sarina Harmon is also named as a defendant. It is not known if this person is a renter or co-owner. Judge Debra Nelson presides over the case. On September 11, 2013, a final judgment for $108,877.57 was entered. That property is located in Fairlane Estates.
Case number 2012CA003896
On August 2, 2012, the Bank of New York Mellon filed a complaint against the “non residential” house owned by Machelle and David Dean, Shellie Zimmerman’s parents. Judge Debra Nelson presides over the case.
Court dockets do not provide the address for the property, so it is not known if the house that George and Shellie were renting from her parents for $1,000 a month is one of the foreclosures.
Why mention this? Because, in the midst of George awaiting trial and going through trial, Shellie’s parents had, and still have, their own problems. Robert Sr. and Gladys Zimmerman have stated to the media that since George killed Trayvon Martin, they have lost everything. Yet, both still have retirement income. Robert Sr. has a website asking for money, and he has a self-published book that he markets on that website. To the best of my knowledge, Machelle nor David Dean have a website requesting donations.

George’s parents did not make arrangements for him and Shellie to live with them under the same roof to share living and security expenses. It was Shellie’s parents that provided her and George with a roof over their heads.
On September 9, 2013, George thanked them by getting into an altercation with Shellie and her dad. Using her iPad, Shellie recorded the property she was moving out of the house, in addition to the altercation where she alleges George snatched her iPad from her hand. An outside surveillance camera recorded George Zimmerman take the iPad apart and throw it to the ground. That video also shows George Zimmerman reaching into his shirt as if going for his gun in a shoulder holster, and taking an aggressive stance.

yeah, why didn’t George’s folks let them live with them? And this is the way he repays Shellie’s parents for providing him with a place to stay. This guy is scum. All the way. Pure scum. It seems to be an inherited trait.

He’ll make a mistake and wind up on the short end. There is a God and no matter what Fogen does or says, those of us in the real world can see where this is going. So her parents probably never got a dime of rent from them, despite Fogen and all his big time bluster.

According to the donation fund reports, they were paying living expenses. There’s a recent article somewhere that claimed they were paying 1k a month rent for Mr. Dean’s house. Interesting that they chose to keep the donation fund money in the family, so to speak. And what was Fogen’s excuse to get so fat with a pool at his disposal and enough room to have a gym full of exercise machines?

I am so sick of GZ and his whining begging family. Everyone else involved in this, Shellie, her family, Trayvon’s family have all acted with quiet dignity while that fool and his family “hide frome the public” by creating nrw headlines every week. And what I s up with this stunt by GZ to evade being served divorce papers? is it because he doesn’t want to get divorced or because this is a game of hide and seek to him? Don’t worry Z, you can’t hide from anything anymore, not anything and I’m very happy if you spend the rest of your life feeling you have too. You have created your own prison, YOU. YOU did this. Oh it may be all flashbulbs and fame right now but that will fade. after the flash and fame the fear will set in. the fear you’ve only talked about will become real.

rachel, your comment does my heart good in this mess. yes, shellie and her parents did conduct themselves with quiet dignity. they did no bad mouthing and i’m sure they had plenty of opportunity.
there are those among us who wish them ill and i just cannot count myself in on that. although i’m agnostic, i come back to ‘there but for the grace of god go i’. she made a bad marriage at 19 (i did the same) to someone who controlled all social and financial aspects of our life together. if i had not had the wake up call to get out, who knows what idiot things i might have done ‘standing by my man’. that, as i see it is her only crime, which she is now paying for while he gets off scott free.
some want more from her, with the knowledge i have, i know this will take time and there will be a contingent who will always wish her ill. i don’t put her on a pedestal by any means, but i do understand how a woman could find herself in such unfortunate circumstances. to date, she is the one among the Zclan who has made what i perceive to be a real apology to the martins, i for one, will accept that.

I too got mixed up with the wrong man, an abusive man and stood by him too when I was very young. However, it was not displayed on national TV for the whole world to see. How unfortunate she not only had to live through this nightmare, but the whole world watched.

Thank you my darling warriors, I have been saying exactly this and often been called out. There is not a female among us who would not have done exactly as she did and the lack of compassion shown her was a sad commentary on how we will turn on our sisters. Referring to her as “sheLIE” was heartless. I knew she could not have known what he was up to when he left the house because she stopped him one time before. And she urged him to use the money for bail saying that was what it was for. His comment “hell no”. It was the only time she pushed back. She was the fall lady for the money laundering and when she said “you ( not we) will have a beautiful life once this is over, she knew his life would not include her.
She had no clue what he did. I’m sure she bought his entire story of going out and being jumped by a burglar . I am certain she thought he had actually graduated from USC. I was married to a pathological liar and they are just so believable.
They set her up to take the fall for the money laundering because as we now know, she did only as he instructed her to do and felt certain she felt as it was his money he was entitled to hide it. God only knows, the line O’Mara told her to entice her to lie to Judge Lester. I can hear it now, “Shellie, they won’t come after you, you are immune as his spouse. He will be eternally grateful and if you don’t , then his sister and brother-in -law will go to jail, etc”.. As a loving wife, it is your duty…blah blah blah.” All the time, knowing Bernie was setting her up to testify against her husband which they never even used her and under Fl. Law could not force her to testify without his consent. Did the idiot state not put 2 and 2 together….the man’s vitals were perfectly normal 10 minutes after shooting a person. Unless you are in a war where life is cheap, no one with any feeling is going to have a normal heart rate after killing another person.
She is in a lot of danger and we need to support her and separate her nativity and name from her despicable soon to be ex husband’s

I’m guilty of that. I used it while her case was pending. She has admitted to lying about the money, so I stopped referring to her as “ShelLIE.” One thing that has given me a measure of compassion for her is knowing that she married George at the age of 19. While that is considered an adult, it’s really very young in this “day.” If not attending college, 19 yr olds should be out making friends, saving money, developing interests and deciding what they want to do with the rest of their lives.
Shellie has one more apology to give to Tracy Martin. It’s an upcoming post.

Y’all are more forgiving of her on this than I am. No justice was found for a child who lost his life due to her asshat husbands tale that could not have been true. I’m going to need more time before I let her off the hook. I don’t believe that she doesn’t know what really happened. Once she discloses what she really knows about what he did, I may soften my stance on this.

@mindyme62. It is difficult to see Shellie as a person apart from George. For me, that difficulty began when George started saying “my wife” in his versions of stories for what led to him organizing NW and for killing Trayvon. But, that is George — he blames others for his decisions and actions. He painted Shellie as a southern Belle wanting protection against Black men. At the same time, he claims having Black male friends and mentoring Black children, sending a double-message.
When I heard their jailhouse phone conversations, I detected that George has little respect and no confidence in Shellie. They humored each other. Sick! Yet, I felt empathy for Shellie. She had given her brain over to George to control.
When Shellie called the cops and said she didn’t know what George was capable of, it spoke volumes. When Kelly Sims made a snark along the lines that everyone approaches George first, that also speaks volumes. Shellie can turn out being the best advocate for why George should be behind bars. We can hope.
As we now see regarding the foreclosures, it is probably clear to Shellie that the only people who have supported her are her parents — not the Zimmermans, who have been crying about and begging for money.

I’m with you as far as this woman is concerned and, I will not RSVP her invite to her own pity party. She may not know everything about what went down that night but, I’ll be willing to bet that she knows something and, she is not going to give it up. while listening to her attorney’s news conference, I paid very close attention when he said, “everybody is out to get George” or something to that effect. he is never the aggressor and, this is exactly he wanted everybody to believe as far as his reason for killing a child. she has also heard things that he has told to others in her presence and yet, she stood by him.
NO, I don’t feel anything for this woman!

Remember how both she and Robert, Sr. used the word “absolutely” in that hearing?
O’Mara used different types of questions with gz’s sister.

I was surprised that the z family group was together when they gave telephone witness testimony at that hearing in June.
I thought that witnesses were not allowed to hear other witness testimony.

I think you are referring to that guy who said he heard Shellie say fuck you under her breathe to Mr. Martin. I think she may have been told to do that by O’Mara but even if she did, why would Judge corrupt Nelson allow it to progress to the point of exposing it for the world to see? No one else heard it so what was the real issue other than more pr for the killer. Judge corrupt allowed Donnelly to stay in court room knowing he was going to be a witness and did not humiliate him by making him take the stand. And he was defiantly in contempt .
Nineteen, can’t buy liquor, cigarettes so legally they may be an adult but their brain isn’t fully developed. And she was still very naive and impressionable doubly so by a master manipulator. She has admitted she feels she never knew him. She had moved out so something happened that had opened her eyes.
Bless you, Xena! You have the respect of so many and they will follow your lead. Even Trent said he was beginning to feel respect for her. She was really used by his horribilousness and O’Mara.

From what I understand, the defense had not listed Donnelly as a witness until after 2 days into the trial. O’Mara and West set a new precedent — let people observe trial, then decide they will be a witness. Judge Nelson should not have allowed his testimony but then, she instructed the jury to disregard a part of Serino’s testimony and Juror B37 did not.
They lived with Shellie’s parents the first 3 years of their marriage. Maybe the Deans finally realized that George married Shellie so he would have a place to live. It’s not as if they moved out into their own house. They were renting that townhouse in R@TL.

??? The issue during the trial was that the Zimmerman friend claimed Tracy Martin said “motherfucker” under his breath when the two passed through the courtroom doorway.

I feel as if I have entered the twilight zone after reading some of these posts.
Everyone is buying Shellie’s act and her using her battered wife (emotionally if not physically) to gain sympathy from the public.
I won’t ever believe that Shellie is any different from Piglet after she made the ‘we’re going to have the good life after the trial is over” or that she schemed with her druggie friend to lie on Tracy Martin so that he would be barred from being in court during the trial.
Shellie is just mad that Piglet was probably chatting with lots of women online before the trial and he may have left her for a month after the trial to see one of his groupies, and now she’s hurt and wants to go public with bits and pieces about what occurred between the two of them before Piglet took Trayvon’s life.
The only thing that can change my opinion about her is if she tells the Feds everything she knows about the events that night, but it still won’t make up for the suffering Sybrina and Tracy have endured.

roderrick 2012, she said :” you’re going to have a good life when this is over”. It’s one of the first signs into how empty their marriage was. It really stood out to me because there was so much money flowing into their account but she did not see their relationship as two. He said ” we” but she knew or was beginning to realize how little he cared for her.
It’s not the twilight zone, I think you’re reading compassion for Shelly because we as women have all been there. It is very ingrained in the female psyche, to give, to understand, to love, to put ourselves second. It is changing for younger women but it is going to be a slow process. It is why prisons are filled up with women helping their lovers carry drugs and getting busted. Something like 80% are in prison for assisting their boyfriends in a criminal activity. Not so in men’s prisons.
I am not condoning it but it is a very big part of what we understand being a female is. An angry woman is a “bitch”… What is the counterpart to an angry man? Younger women rightly disregard any part of that but it is still very fragile and takes an unusually strong, intelligent woman to reject the whole role assignment of being what a good woman is.
There are not many “Xena, the warrior princess” but each generation advances incrementally towards a just society.

I love butterflies. Gardening is my hobby and I have a host plant for monarch butterflies that is out of sight because you have to let the caterpillars devour the leaves..big beautiful fat yellow/ black caterpillars that transform into the King of butterflies, Monarch!

@2dogsonly. I’m so happy you mentioned about having a host plant. That is something I wanted to look into for next Spring. We don’t have Monarch’s here, but do have black butterflies and white ones. One day, I saw a yellow one. There was also a huge, fuzzy, black, orange and yellow caterpillar crawling up my garage door one day.
No, I’m not a poet. 🙂 As a spiritual person, I try understanding first the natural, then the spiritual. In the Bible is a passage that speaks about the first and last Adam, and says we shall “change” into the image of the last. That word “change in the Greek is where we get our English word metamorphosis.
Not long ago a friend called me saying he does not understand why he feels all alone. He has friends and family. I told him he was going through a cocooning process. When we think of the caterpillar going through chrysalis, it’s a lonely place. That caterpillar is vulnerable because it cannot crawl neither fly away. It’s a place of faith. It’s a place of not having outside influences but trust in what is internal so that we emerge with freedom. If there is any help that we can give to others going through those periods, it’s help in having them realize what and who they are internally.

The host plant is called “milkweed” ( for the Monarch butterfly) you may have to order It online but put it in a hidden place because the caterpillars have to eat the leaves. They are big fat yellow and black caterpillars. They form a skinny twig looking cocoon and then one day you will see a monarch. They will fly away w/o so much as a goodbye but sometimes you’ll spot them before they fly the coop! 😉 I get so excited when I see those big fat caterpillars , I hunt down a neighbor to show them. They just think I’m nuts until I explain what they turn into.
