iPad Video Could Be Key To Charging George Zimmerman

Fox News reports that video from Shellie Zimmerman’s iPad may be crucial evidence in determining whether to charge George Zimmerman.

Lake Mary Police Department spokesman, Zach Hudson, said that the iPad is badly damaged and needs to be examined in a lab.  If it provides evidence to support Shellie’s story, George Zimmerman could be potentially charged with destruction of evidence.

Yesterday, Shelly Zimmerman said that George snatched the iPad from her hands, smashed it, and used a pocket night to open it up destroying parts on the inside.

Funny thing — Rachel Jeantel testified to hearing a man’s voice ask, “What are you doing around here?” followed by a “bump” indicating disconnection of Trayvon’s cell phone from his headset.  Physical crime scene evidence supports that Trayvon’s cell phone was on the ground, disconnected from his headset when the cops arrived.  Seems as though George Zimmerman has a pattern of destroying, or attempting to destroy communication devices  that might record his actions and/or words.

  1. Would the police put that much time and $$ into investigating this? Especially with no one pressing charges. OR will the State HAVE To investigate the IPad to determine whether or not to charge him?

    • two sides to a story

I think once police are summoned to a scene, they’re obligated by the justice system to determine if a crime took place. Prosecutors have more say in that these days than the po-po.

I believe george is going to rip his pants good soon.

    • @Lolypop. Can’t you hear O’Mara now petitioning the court to not allow expert testimony for how the recording was obtained from the damaged iPad by alleging it’s “junk science”? In the alternative, he would ask if the weather could have affected the quality of the recording, along with asking how the iPad was handled — put in paper or plastic bag.

If all that fails, he will want Papa and Mama Zim to testify that it’s “absolutely” not George’s voice on the iPad recording, and anyone can put on a plaid shirt and look like him.

  5. Karma will provide full justice to this murderer! Some here feel sorry for Shel-lie, but I just can’t seem to find any true sympathy for her. She is an adult, she is responsible for her actions, and she is reaping the rewards for her life with this person. Now a little question for y’all, who was the lady from the gated community that testified about what a wonderful person that the Fogdoit was when he helped her after the attempted break in of her home? The one that said he was constantly checking in with her to make sure she was ok?

That would be Olivia Bertalan, the person who O’Mara used as the “face of frustration” to justify GZ’s “frustration” that Juror B37 would later use to say that George was just “frustrated” with the vandalism in the neighborhood.

      • Xena, Thank you, I could not remember her name. If I was a betting man, she and the Fogdoit were involved in a relationship prior to the murder. If you get a chance watch her testimony, she is practically having sex with him during it. I made that same comment during the trial, but it was dismissed as ridiculous, but I will say it again, “if I were a betting man”….. Now if Shel-lie did not suspect what was happening, but chose to ignore it, that would be the real surprise!

        • @crazy1946. There is a new’s article (can’t put my hands on it now) where John Donnelly said that Shellie expected George of being unfaithful throughout their marriage.

I watched GZ in court and there were times the lust in his eyes was glaring. It made Jonathan’s wife so uncomfortable that she tried raising her blouse higher. His eyes were burning through Selma until she testified seeing him put his hand on his head. He even looked lustful at Chad.

But then, if GZ was molesting his cousin from the age of 8, we should only expect that he is a pervert.

  9. What a shock (not!) the Lake Mary PD now are stating the I-Pod that Shel-lie used to record the episode is too damaged to recover the recording of the altercation between the Fogdoit’s! Why is that not too much of a surprise to me? All it proves is that in that area of Florida the Fogdoit is untouchable…. That is until he pulls his gun on the wrong person… If I were to bet, I would bet on that happening soon….

    • @crazy1946. I don’t understand it. The cops have George on tape destroying the iPad. Innocent people have no reason to destroy evidence. The cops should be able to conclude that George is lying about Shellie hitting him with the iPad because if that were true, he should have wanted to save whatever it recorded to support his claims, rather than destroying the iPad. If he believed Shellie was using it as a weapon, and he took possession of it, there was no good reason for him to damage it.

George also took a defensive, boxing stance. George was the one ready to fight.

He had a weapon — a knife, and that in and of itself presents a danger to others when he’s standing there using it to open the iPad with his “bodyguard” protecting him. George could have injured or killed Shellie and/or her dad with that knife while his “bodyguard” prevented them from protecting themselves from George.

What we see on that video are two thugs in action — George and his MySpace friend/bodyguard.

    • It was clarified on the news that it is so badly damaged that they (Sheriff’s Dept) can’t get the information from it and that it will have to be sent out for recovery. They are looking into that now and cite chain of custody in being an issue with it…..guess they have to find one that can do legal chain of custody for evidence. They said it isn’t over with.

      • towerflower, Remember the old adage, “out of sight, out of mind”? The Fogdoit will skate out from under this like he has every thing else he had done… Too many people in Lake Mary are supporters of their home boy… At some point he will screw up In an area where he has no strings to pull and will get his just reward if he does not suffer a case of lead poisoning first…
